The Butterfly Bureau, Episode 6: Were the Epstein Survivors Exploited Again?

In this episode of The Butterfly Bureau, we sit down with investigative journalist and Epstein Justice founder Nick Bryant to examine a deeply uncomfortable question: Were Jeffrey Epstein’s survivors exploited again by the very advocacy system created to elevate their voices?

Our investigation follows the receipts behind World Without Exploitation, also known as WorldWE, its relationship with the Tides Center, the involvement of billionaire Reid Hoffman, and the funding behind major public campaigns featuring Epstein survivors. We examine who built the platform, who financed it, who controlled the message, what participating survivors were told, and whether they retained meaningful control over their stories, images, and involvement.

The available evidence does not prove that Epstein connected money funded WorldWE. The frequently cited Tides payment to Ghislaine Maxwell’s TerraMar Project occurred in 2014, before WorldWE was created. However, serious questions remain about transparency, confidentiality, informed consent, survivor selection, private meetings, and the identity of certain campaign funders.

Nick Bryant joins us to discuss his investigation, the documents he uncovered, the allegations reported to him, and the evidence that remains missing.

Survivors deserved a national platform. They also deserved transparent funding, independent advice, meaningful confidentiality, control over their own stories, and the unconditional right to say no.

This episode does not ask whether survivor advocacy mattered. It asks who controlled it, who benefited from it, and whether the survivors themselves were ever given the whole truth.
