How EpsteinWiki collects, uses, protects, preserves, and responds to requests concerning personal information

Our Privacy Commitment

EpsteinWiki is a collaborative public interest research platform and archive devoted to preserving and organizing records connected to Jeffrey Epstein, associated people and institutions, survivor testimony, litigation, government investigations, and related matters of public concern.

This Privacy Policy explains how EpsteinWiki collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects personal information when someone visits EpsteinWiki, creates or uses a contributor account, contacts the project, submits a tip, participates in a research group, or otherwise interacts with the site.

EpsteinWiki follows three basic privacy principles. We collect only information reasonably connected to operating the archive. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We give heightened protection to survivors, minors, witnesses, tipsters, volunteers, and other people whose safety could be affected by unnecessary disclosure.

This policy applies to information controlled by EpsteinWiki. It does not control the privacy practices of a court, government agency, news organization, social network, document host, community platform, or other external service linked from or embedded on the site.

Information Covered by This Policy

Personal information means information that identifies a person, relates to a person, or can reasonably be connected with a person or household. Depending on context and applicable law, it may include a name, username, email address, internet address, device information, account credentials, communications, contribution history, or information contained in a tip or support request.

This policy covers personal information that EpsteinWiki receives directly from users, collects automatically through ordinary website operations, or obtains through public records and other lawful public sources for archival and investigative purposes.

Information contained in public court records, government releases, published reporting, public corporate records, public websites, and other openly accessible sources may still concern identifiable people. EpsteinWiki handles that material under its Editorial Standards, Research Methodology, survivor protection rules, and public interest mission.

Information You Choose to Provide

EpsteinWiki may receive information when you create an account, submit research, send a message, apply to join a contributor group, report a correction, or communicate with the project. Depending on the service used, this may include:

Your name or chosen display name
Your email address and account username
A password stored through the site account system in protected form
Optional profile or biographical information
Contributor applications, research interests, experience, and availability
Articles, edits, citations, comments, uploads, metadata, and revision history
Messages sent through contact, support, correction, or technical issue forms
Information provided while participating in a private research group, community discussion, or editorial review
Tip submissions, supporting documents, and any contact information you choose to include

Please provide only the information needed for the purpose of your message. Do not submit passwords, financial account numbers, government identification numbers, medical records, illegal material, malware, intimate images, or unrelated private information about another person.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, EpsteinWiki may automatically receive limited technical and usage information when a visitor loads a page or uses an account. This may include:

Internet Protocol address
Browser type and version
Device type and operating system
Approximate location derived from an internet address
Pages requested and the time of a request
Referring pages or websites
Login, session, security, and error information
Basic analytics concerning site traffic, performance, and navigation

EpsteinWiki uses this information to deliver pages, keep accounts working, detect abuse, investigate security events, prevent spam, repair technical problems, understand general site performance, and improve access to the archive. Technical information is not treated as proof of a person’s identity or conduct.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

EpsteinWiki may use cookies or similar browser storage for functions such as account login, session management, saved preferences, security, spam prevention, traffic measurement, and embedded media.

Necessary cookies support functions that the site cannot reliably provide without them. Other cookies, including some analytics or external media cookies, may depend on visitor consent where applicable law requires it.

You can use browser controls to remove or block cookies. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent login, saved preferences, form submission, or other site functions from working correctly. External content, including videos, social posts, maps, document viewers, or community tools, may set cookies under the external provider’s own policy when that content loads or when you interact with it.

EpsteinWiki does not use personal information for cross context behavioral advertising and does not sell or share personal information for that purpose.

Public Records and Investigative Sources

The archive collects information from sources that may include court filings, government releases, legislative records, freedom of information productions, public databases, archived websites, corporate filings, published journalism, public social media, audio and video records, books, interviews, and documents made publicly available through lawful channels.

The purpose of collecting this material is historical preservation, research, source verification, public accountability, and reporting on matters of public concern. EpsteinWiki does not collect public information to facilitate harassment, identity theft, stalking, retaliation, or commercial profiling.

Publication in another source does not automatically make every detail necessary to republish. Editors should remove irrelevant home addresses, private phone numbers, personal email addresses, government identifiers, financial account information, and details that create avoidable safety risks. The rules are stricter when information concerns a survivor, minor, witness, private person, or family member who is not independently relevant to the public record.

Anyone who believes a page contains inaccurate, misidentified, unnecessarily private, or dangerous personal information may submit a documented request through Contact EpsteinWiki. Requests are evaluated against accuracy, safety, survivor dignity, legal obligations, archival integrity, and the public interest. Removal is not automatic merely because information is unflattering or appears in a public record, but privacy and safety concerns receive serious review.

Tips and Sensitive Submissions

EpsteinWiki recognizes that tips may come from survivors, witnesses, researchers, journalists, insiders, family members, or people concerned about retaliation. Identifying information associated with a tip is treated as restricted information and is reviewed only by people who need access for verification, safety, legal review, or archive administration.

EpsteinWiki does not sell, rent, or trade tipster information. It does not voluntarily publish or disclose a tipster’s identifying details without explicit consent. A submission may be summarized, investigated, cross referenced, or preserved without publicly naming the source.

Confidential does not mean privileged, anonymous, or immune from lawful process. EpsteinWiki is not a law firm, therapist, medical provider, or government witness protection program. A website form or ordinary email may reveal technical metadata and may not provide the protections available through an attorney, encrypted reporting system, or legally recognized confidential relationship.

Before sending sensitive material, remove unnecessary metadata and personal information, keep an original copy, and consider whether you need legal advice. Do not send illegal material or content that would create a new privacy violation. The Submit an Epstein Tip page explains the current submission process.

Survivors Witnesses and Minors

EpsteinWiki does not treat survivor identity, trauma, or private history as ordinary content. The site does not permit doxxing, victim blaming, speculative identification of a Jane Doe, guessing behind redactions, or publication of unrelated personal details that increase the risk of harassment or retraumatization.

Public self identification by a survivor does not create permission to publish every available detail about that person. Editors must still consider relevance, consent, source quality, safety, and the possibility that a record contains stale, incorrect, or unlawfully disclosed information.

Information about minors receives heightened protection. Contributors must not publish a minor’s private contact information, school schedule, live location, family details, identifying metadata, or sexualized material. A lawfully released record may be summarized when necessary for the public interest, but unnecessary identifiers should be redacted or omitted. If you are a survivor, witness, parent, guardian, or authorized representative reporting an urgent privacy concern, identify the page, the information at issue, the safety risk, and any documentation supporting the request. Do not include more sensitive information than is necessary to evaluate the concern.

How EpsteinWiki Uses Personal Information

EpsteinWiki may use personal information to:

Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the site
Create and manage contributor accounts
Authenticate users and preserve revision history
Review applications and manage research groups
Respond to questions, corrections, privacy requests, and technical reports
Review, verify, organize, and preserve submitted research or evidence
Communicate about contributions, policies, security, events, or service changes
Prevent spam, impersonation, harassment, malware, and unauthorized access
Enforce the Terms of Use and contributor standards
Protect survivors, witnesses, contributors, readers, and the integrity of the archive
Comply with legal obligations and defend lawful rights

EpsteinWiki does not use account or tip information to build advertising profiles. It does not use a sensitive submission for an unrelated commercial purpose.

Legal Bases Where Data Protection Law Applies

Where a law requires EpsteinWiki to identify a legal basis for processing, the basis depends on the information and purpose involved.

Consent may support optional communications or a person’s decision to provide information. You may withdraw consent for future processing when consent is the applicable basis, although withdrawal does not invalidate processing already completed.

Contract related processing may support account access or services a user requests under the Terms of Use.

Legitimate interests may support operating and securing a public interest archive, preserving source history, responding to inquiries, preventing abuse, protecting legal rights, and conducting responsible research. EpsteinWiki considers privacy, safety, and reasonable expectations when relying on those interests.

Legal obligations may require preservation or disclosure of information. Vital interests may justify limited action when reasonably necessary to address an immediate threat to life or safety.

Publicly available information may be processed for journalism, archiving, research, documentation, or other public interest purposes where applicable law permits. A public source does not eliminate the duty to use information responsibly.

When Information May Be Disclosed

EpsteinWiki may disclose limited personal information in the following circumstances:

To hosting, security, email, analytics, form, backup, collaboration, and technical service providers that process information to support the site
To authorized editors, administrators, or investigators who need access for a defined project purpose
At a user’s direction or with the user’s consent
When a contributor intentionally publishes information as part of a public contribution
When reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, impersonation, threats, malware, doxxing, harassment, or a security incident
When required by valid law, court order, subpoena, or other binding legal process
When reasonably necessary to protect a person from an immediate and serious threat, as permitted by law
In connection with a lawful organizational restructuring, transfer, or succession, subject to appropriate privacy protections

EpsteinWiki does not promise to resist every lawful demand. It may review a request for scope, authority, and legal validity before disclosing information when circumstances permit. It will seek to disclose only information reasonably required by the demand.

External Links Embedded Content and Community Services

EpsteinWiki links to court systems, government archives, news sites, document databases, research tools, social networks, video platforms, community services, and other external resources. Visiting an external link may allow that provider to receive technical information under its own privacy policy.

Embedded media may behave as though the visitor opened the media on the provider’s website. The external provider may collect an internet address, set cookies, record interaction, or associate activity with an existing account.

EpsteinWiki communities hosted through Discord, Reddit, Epstein Forums, Substack, or another external platform are governed by both EpsteinWiki community rules and the external platform’s terms and privacy practices. EpsteinWiki does not control the external platform’s independent collection, retention, or disclosure of information.

Review a provider’s policy before using an external service, especially when joining under a real name, uploading documents, or discussing sensitive research.

Contributor Content and Revision History

EpsteinWiki is an archival project. Articles, citations, edits, source notes, uploaded records, and revision history may be preserved for a long period because provenance and change history are central to research integrity.

Public contributions may display a username, author name, revision record, or other attribution connected with the contributor account. Contributors should choose a display name that fits their safety needs and should not place unnecessary private information in an article, edit summary, filename, image metadata, or citation note.

Deleting an account does not necessarily remove material already incorporated into the public archive, backups, citations, moderation records, or revision history. EpsteinWiki may anonymize an attribution or restrict access when a documented safety or privacy concern outweighs the need to retain a public name. It may retain enough information to prevent abuse, document a correction, resolve a dispute, or comply with law.

Data Retention

EpsteinWiki keeps personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, the integrity of the archive, safety, security, dispute resolution, and legal obligations.

Account information may be retained while an account remains active and for a reasonable period after closure. Contributor content and revision history may be retained indefinitely as part of the research archive. Contact messages, applications, and privacy requests may be retained while the matter is active and afterward when needed to document the response or protect the project and participants.

Tips and supporting material may be retained while they are investigated, verified, preserved, or connected to continuing research. A source may request deletion or restriction, but EpsteinWiki may retain material when preservation is required by law, necessary to protect a person, relevant to an active dispute, or essential to documenting the provenance of already published research.

Technical logs are retained for a limited period based on security, performance, abuse prevention, backup rotation, and operational needs. Copies may remain temporarily in routine backups after deletion from active systems.

Security

EpsteinWiki uses administrative and technical safeguards designed to reduce unauthorized access, alteration, loss, misuse, and disclosure. Measures may include restricted permissions, account controls, software maintenance, backups, spam filtering, activity review, and limits on who may access sensitive submissions.

No website, email system, storage provider, or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for protecting their passwords, securing their devices, using unique login credentials, and reporting suspected account compromise promptly.

If EpsteinWiki identifies a security incident affecting personal information, it will investigate, contain, document, and provide notice when required by applicable law. Public discussion may be limited while disclosure would increase risk or interfere with remediation.

Artificial Intelligence and Automated Tools

EpsteinWiki may use artificial intelligence assisted tools for optical character recognition, transcription, document organization, metadata extraction, search, translation, timeline support, duplicate detection, and drafting assistance.

AI output is not treated as evidence by itself. Human review, source checking, and editorial judgment remain necessary. EpsteinWiki does not use automated decision making to make legal or similarly significant decisions about visitors or contributors.

Restricted survivor, witness, tipster, or contributor information should not be entered into an external AI service unless its use has been approved for that purpose and appropriate privacy protections are in place. Public document processing should still follow data minimization and redaction rules.

International Processing

EpsteinWiki is administered in the United States. Its website providers, volunteers, contributors, and readers may operate in other countries. Information may therefore be processed or stored in a jurisdiction whose privacy laws differ from those where a user lives.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, EpsteinWiki and its providers may rely on recognized contractual terms, adequacy decisions, consent, or another lawful transfer mechanism appropriate to the circumstances.

Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have the right to request:

Confirmation that EpsteinWiki processes information about you
Access to personal information connected with you
Correction of inaccurate personal information
Deletion of certain personal information
Restriction of or objection to certain processing
A portable copy of information you provided, where required
Withdrawal of consent for future processing when consent is the applicable basis
Information about the categories, sources, uses, and recipients of personal information
Equal service without retaliation for exercising a privacy right

These rights are not absolute. Applicable law may permit or require EpsteinWiki to retain information for freedom of expression, journalism, research, archiving, public interest documentation, legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or the rights of other people.

Do not send a copy of a government identification document unless EpsteinWiki specifically explains why it is necessary.

EpsteinWiki may take reasonable steps to verify identity, authority, and the scope of a request. An authorized representative may be required to provide evidence of permission. Information collected for verification will be used for that purpose and related security or legal documentation.

California Privacy Information

California law grants qualifying residents rights concerning access, deletion, correction, use of sensitive information, sale or sharing, and freedom from discrimination. Some obligations apply only to organizations that meet statutory coverage requirements.

EpsteinWiki does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross context behavioral advertising. If the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to a request, EpsteinWiki will process the request under the applicable verification, timing, exception, and appeal rules. European Economic Area and United Kingdom Information

People in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, consent withdrawal, and complaint to a data protection authority, subject to the legal basis and applicable exemptions.

The right to object may apply when processing relies on legitimate interests or concerns direct marketing. EpsteinWiki does not use personal information for direct marketing unless a person has requested or consented to the communication.

You may contact the data protection authority where you live, work, or believe a violation occurred. The European Commission’s data protection resources and the United Kingdom Information Commissioner’s guidance provide additional information.

Children’s Privacy

EpsteinWiki is not directed to children under thirteen and does not knowingly invite them to create contributor accounts or submit personal information. The Federal Trade Commission’s children’s privacy guidance explains the protections established by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.

If EpsteinWiki learns that it collected personal information directly from a child in a manner not permitted by law, it will take reasonable steps to delete or restrict that information. A parent or legal guardian may contact the project about a child’s information.

This section concerns data collected from young users. It does not prevent the archive from responsibly reporting on historical records involving people who were minors at the time, provided that publication follows survivor centered standards, lawful sourcing, redaction, and public interest review.

Changes to This Policy

EpsteinWiki may update this Privacy Policy when site functions, providers, laws, security practices, or editorial procedures change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.

Material changes should be presented clearly and, when appropriate, communicated through the site, contributor channels, or direct notice. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised policy, but a policy change does not create retroactive consent for a materially different use where the law requires new consent.

For a request concerning published content, include the page address, the exact information at issue, the requested action, and supporting documentation. For a safety concern, explain the risk without repeating unnecessary private details.

EpsteinWiki will review good faith requests as promptly as reasonably possible. Response time may depend on identity verification, the complexity of the request, legal requirements, the volume of records, and the need to protect other people’s rights.
