Key takeaway: EFTA01279253 provides a detailed transaction history for a UBS account belonging to the TerraMar Project, the ocean conservation nonprofit founded and led by Ghislaine Maxwell. The records identify incoming funds, contractors, staff payments, legal expenses, technology companies, and one recipient that received almost $149,000.
What Is EFTA01279253?
EFTA01279253 is a 98 page collection of UBS wire records associated with the TerraMar Project.
The records cover account activity from February 2014 through May 2018. Most outgoing transfers were processed from a UBS Financial Services retail account held in the name of TerraMar Project Inc.
The documents include transaction dates, amounts, sending and receiving banks, beneficiary names, account references, approval records, and wire status information.
Many outgoing transfers occupy two pages. The first page contains the payment details. The second records the remaining status history. Therefore, the 98 page length does not represent 98 separate transactions.
One June 17, 2014 transfer appears twice in the production. One record is the outgoing wire instruction, while the other is the related payment advice. It was counted only once in the financial totals presented in this article.
What Was the TerraMar Project?
The TerraMar Project was an American nonprofit founded by Ghislaine Maxwell. It presented itself as an environmental organization focused on ocean conservation and public awareness of the high seas.
Public nonprofit records identify the organization under employer identification number 45 5091884. The organization described its mission as creating a global ocean community and encouraging protection of areas outside national jurisdiction.
According to public nonprofit filing data, Maxwell served as president. Christine Malina Maxwell served as treasurer, while Steven Haft appeared as a director.
The organization’s public identity gave Maxwell access to conferences, environmental organizations, universities, and international forums. However, the TerraMar Project announced its closure in July 2019, shortly after Epstein’s federal arrest.
The closure does not prove that TerraMar participated in Epstein’s criminal activity. No public criminal charge identified in the reviewed sources accused the organization itself of committing a crime.
Why the Records Appear in the Epstein Files
The document carries Southern District of New York grand jury production numbers beginning with SDNY GM. It is also marked confidential.
Those markings establish that the records were collected or produced within a federal investigative context. They do not explain precisely why every transaction was selected or how prosecutors evaluated it.
The clearest connection is Ghislaine Maxwell. She founded and controlled the TerraMar Project while maintaining her longstanding relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
A jury later convicted Maxwell of facilitating and participating in the sexual abuse of children with Epstein. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York announced the verdict on December 29, 2021. She was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison in June 2022.
The presence of TerraMar banking records in the investigative files makes the organization’s finances a legitimate subject of research. Still, the records must be analyzed without assuming that every payment had a criminal purpose.
The Financial Activity Covered by the File
The file contains 52 wire records representing 51 distinct transactions.
Five records concern incoming funds. The remaining records concern outgoing payments. One outgoing transaction is represented twice because UBS retained both the original wire detail and a payment advice.
After removing that duplication, the records identify $66,322.56 in incoming funds and $205,164.39 in outgoing payments.
These figures describe only the transfers contained in EFTA01279253. They are not a complete account statement. The document may omit checks, card payments, internal transfers, fees, deposits, or additional wire activity.
The records also do not reveal the opening or closing balance of the UBS account. Therefore, researchers should not treat the difference between incoming and outgoing wires as the account’s net loss.
Incoming Funds
The largest incoming transfer was $35,749.95 on February 27, 2014. The ordering customer was also identified as TerraMar Project Inc., suggesting a transfer between accounts held for the organization.
A second TerraMar transfer of $63.61 arrived on April 4, 2014.
On March 24, 2015, the account received $500 from Interactive Donor Corp. The transfer information stated that the funds were for the benefit of the TerraMar Project.
Two international transfers arrived in February 2016 from MAF HAZ Charter Services DMCC in the United Arab Emirates.
The first arrived on February 9, 2016 and totaled $19,980. The second arrived on February 19, 2016 and totaled $10,029.
Both transfers referenced an invoice identified as “IMMIDIA 2016 01” or similar wording. Together, the transfers totaled $30,009.
The wire records do not explain the service, event, contract, or invoice behind those international payments. Further documentation would be required before assigning a purpose.
R and C Ventures Received the Largest Share
The largest recipient in the file is R and C Ventures Inc.
The TerraMar account sent nine transfers to the company between August 2015 and March 2016. Together, those payments totaled $148,931.94.
The first and largest transfer occurred on August 6, 2015. It totaled $123,108.16.
Eight additional transfers followed. Most were for $3,532.52. The final payment in the sequence was $1,096.14 on March 11, 2016.
R and C Ventures received approximately 73 percent of all outgoing money identified in the file.
That concentration makes the company one of the most important investigative leads in EFTA01279253. However, the wire records do not identify the underlying contract, invoice, owner, or purpose of the payments.
A matching company name alone is not enough to identify the correct legal entity. Researchers should verify the recipient through bank records, corporate registration files, invoices, or TerraMar accounting records.
Payments to Robert Foos
The account sent five payments totaling $12,721.40 to Robert Foos between March and June 2014.
The transfers were $2,152.70 on March 7, $1,903.88 on April 7, $4,597.44 on May 15, and two payments of $2,033.69 on June 16 and June 17.
Foos was publicly identified as TerraMar’s director of development and chief of staff. An archived Coast Guard Academy alumni profile described him as a former Coast Guard officer working for the ocean conservation organization.
The records establish that Foos received funds from TerraMar. They do not state whether the transfers were salary, reimbursement, consulting payments, travel expenses, or another form of compensation.
Repeated Payments to Charles Wyatt
Charles Wyatt appears more often than any other individual recipient.
The account sent Wyatt 22 wire payments between June 2014 and May 2018. Those payments totaled $18,594.55.
Most transfers were relatively small. They ranged from $225 to $2,057.05.
The payments continued longer than any other recurring recipient sequence in the file. The first identified transfer occurred on June 24, 2014. The final transfer occurred on May 4, 2018.
The records do not describe Wyatt’s role or the services connected to the payments. His repeated appearance makes him relevant to reconstructing TerraMar’s operations, but the transfers do not establish misconduct.
Legal and Professional Payments
On July 30, 2014, TerraMar sent $14,139.39 to Morris and McVeigh LLP.
Morris and McVeigh was a New York firm associated with corporate, tax, trust, estate, and nonprofit services. The wire record does not identify the legal matter behind the payment.
TerraMar also sent three transfers to Theory and Practice. Those payments totaled $4,320.
The transfers occurred on March 28, May 1, and June 25, 2014. The document provides no description of the underlying work.
These transactions may represent ordinary legal, design, consulting, or professional expenses. However, invoices and contracts would be needed to confirm the services provided.
Technology and Media Payments
The records identify several smaller payments to technology and media companies.
TerraMar sent four transfers to Tapjoy totaling $516. The payments occurred between July 2015 and May 2016.
Tapjoy operated a mobile advertising and application monetization platform. The records do not show which campaign, service, or application TerraMar purchased.
The organization also sent $612 to VFILES LLC on July 14, 2014. VFILES was known as a fashion and media platform.
The presence of these companies suggests that at least some TerraMar funds supported digital promotion, marketing, application development, or online engagement. That is an inference based on the known business activities of the recipients. The wire records do not include invoices confirming the purpose.
A Transfer Back to TerraMar
On March 5, 2014, the account sent $5,329.11 through JPMorgan Chase to an account bearing the same number used by TerraMar in earlier incoming records.
The wire was not marked as a third party payment. It appears to have been a transfer involving another account associated with the organization.
This record is another indication that TerraMar maintained more than one financial account or moved funds between institutions.
However, the file does not provide a complete account ownership record. The precise destination should be confirmed through UBS and JPMorgan customer records.
The Addresses Used on the Account
Most records list TerraMar at 116 East 65th Street in New York.
Later records use 139A Charles Street. That address appears on transfers made in 2018.
Address changes can help researchers connect nonprofit filings, banking records, property records, and individuals. However, a mailing address does not always establish ownership or full time occupancy.
Researchers should compare these addresses with Maxwell’s known address history and other evidence available through the EpsteinWiki Search Hub.
What the Document Does Not Show
EFTA01279253 does not show a direct transfer from Jeffrey Epstein to the TerraMar UBS account.
It also does not establish that Epstein owned the organization, controlled its UBS account, or directed the transactions in this particular file.
That absence should be stated clearly. A financial relationship cannot be created through assumption.
The file does show banking activity for an organization founded and controlled by Maxwell. It also appears in records gathered within the broader federal investigation associated with Epstein and Maxwell.
The correct conclusion is that the document provides an important part of Maxwell’s financial and organizational history. It does not, by itself, prove that TerraMar was used to finance trafficking, recruit victims, launder money, or conceal criminal activity.
Why the Transaction Pattern Matters
The TerraMar account directed most of the outgoing money in this file to a relatively small group of recipients.
R and C Ventures alone received $148,931.94. Charles Wyatt received 22 separate transfers. Robert Foos received five transfers while publicly serving in a senior TerraMar role.
The account also paid a law firm, digital advertising company, media platform, and professional service provider.
Meanwhile, the incoming records include internal transfers, a donation processing company, and two international invoice payments from a United Arab Emirates charter services company.
This pattern gives researchers a roadmap. The next evidence needed includes invoices, contracts, Form 990 filings, corporate ownership records, UBS account opening documents, signatory records, and communications discussing the payments.
Key Takeaways
EFTA01279253 contains UBS wire records for the TerraMar Project covering February 2014 through May 2018.
The organization was founded and led by Ghislaine Maxwell.
The file contains 51 distinct transactions after one duplicate payment record is removed.
The records identify $66,322.56 in incoming funds and $205,164.39 in outgoing payments.
R and C Ventures received $148,931.94, including a single payment of $123,108.16.
Charles Wyatt received 22 transfers totaling $18,594.55.
Robert Foos, TerraMar’s publicly identified director of development and chief of staff, received five transfers totaling $12,721.40.
Morris and McVeigh LLP received $14,139.39.
Two incoming international payments from MAF HAZ Charter Services DMCC totaled $30,009.
The file does not document a direct Epstein payment into the UBS account.
No transaction in this document, standing alone, proves that a recipient knew about or participated in Epstein’s or Maxwell’s crimes.
Why EFTA01279253 Matters
EFTA01279253 provides a rare transaction level view of an organization closely associated with Ghislaine Maxwell.
The records move the investigation beyond TerraMar’s public environmental branding. They identify where money entered the account, where it went, which recipients appeared repeatedly, and which transactions deserve additional documentation.
The most significant unanswered question concerns R and C Ventures. The company received nearly three quarters of the outgoing money identified in the file, yet the wire records provide no explanation for the payments.
The document also demonstrates why nonprofit financial records should be compared with corporate filings, tax returns, employee records, emails, property records, and other evidence.
Researchers can use the EpsteinWiki network mapping guide to organize these connections without treating association as proof of criminal conduct.
