Snapshot

Field Verified scope
Primary record A forwarded email chain released by the Department of Justice in Data Set 9.
Evidence identifiers EFTA01002421, EFTA01002422 and EFTA01002423. Three PDF pages.
Top message Jeffrey Epstein to Ehud Barak, as identified in the displayed sender and recipient fields.
Displayed date Friday, November 28, 2014, 18:00:26 +0000.
Earlier messages November 26, 2014: Darren Indyke forwards material from Victor Teshuva, whose signature uses Victor Tshuva.
Subject matter An unnamed company’s cash-flow material and Epstein’s advice to “STAY AWAY.”
Attachments listed Two Excel files are named. Neither spreadsheet is contained in or embedded in the released PDF.
Provenance check The reviewed copy matches the official DOJ file byte for byte: 97,047 bytes, three pages.
Principal limits No company name, underlying spreadsheets, Barak reply, completed investment or independent accounting conclusion appears in these pages.

The November 2014 chain records Epstein giving Barak a blunt negative assessment of cash-flow material forwarded through Darren Indyke. It also preserves the explanation that accompanied the spreadsheets, including claims about the source of the data, estimates, a sales decline and excluded items. PDF page 1, EFTA01002421.

The document is evidence of advice and a flow of business information. It is not proof that the unnamed company was financially unsound, that Barak followed the advice or that anyone named in the chain committed wrongdoing.

The email chain and its dates

The top message identifies its sender as “Jeffrey E.” and its recipient as “ehud barak.” Its displayed timestamp is November 28, 2014, at 18:00:26 +0000. That is the date of the warning in this released record. PDF page 1, EFTA01002421.

Below it, a forwarding line attributes a November 26 message to Darren Indyke at 9:40 AM, without a displayed time zone. Inside that message is another forwarded email from Victor Teshuva, dated November 26 at 9:31:29 AM EST. The body addresses Indyke and refers to a conversation the previous day involving “Mr. Kahan.” The chain does not give that person’s first name, and this guide does not silently substitute another identity. PDF page 1, EFTA01002421.

Al Jazeera dates the warning November 27 and identifies Light & Strong. The released email’s header reads November 28.

The dates should remain attached to their respective sources. This PDF does not explain the discrepancy, and the chronology here follows its visible header rather than changing it to match a secondary account.

What Epstein actually advised

Epstein criticized the financial knowledge of the people who prepared the material. He focused on their statement that the cash-flow report excluded depreciation and argued that depreciation had nothing to do with cash flow. He ended his response with the capitalized instruction “STAY AWAY.” PDF page 1, EFTA01002421.

This is a contemporaneous expression of Epstein’s opinion. The PDF does not contain an audit, an independent valuation or a worked analysis testing his criticism against the actual spreadsheets. A reader can establish that he gave negative advice without treating that advice as a verified accounting finding.

The chain also does not show Barak requesting this specific assessment, replying to it, accepting it or rejecting it. It establishes that the warning was addressed to him in the displayed message. A later investment decision requires separate evidence.

The five explanations accompanying the cash-flow material

The forwarded author described the two Excel sheets as concerning the company’s cash flow. He then gave five assumptions or comments for reading the monthly actual report. These are representations in the email, not figures independently verified from the missing workbooks. PDF page 1, EFTA01002421.

Item What the correspondent represented What this does not establish
1. Data source Actual data came from the Priority ERP system. That the extraction was complete or independently reconciled.
2. Averages Some average values were used because of limited time; the author maintained that the total was accurate. Which entries were estimated or whether their totals were correct.
3. Sales and compensation July and August sales decreased because of the “Zuk-Eitan” military operation; the author anticipated “100k$” in compensation. That the claimed explanation was verified, that compensation was approved or that any payment arrived.
4. Depreciation The report did not include equipment depreciation. A complete description of the report’s accounting basis or whether Epstein’s criticism fairly addressed it.
5. Loan interest The report did not include interest on a historic owner’s loan. The lender, loan balance, applicable terms, accruals or actual interest payments.

These qualifications are central to the source. Omitting them would turn a conditional presentation of financial material into an apparent set of audited results. The “100k$” figure is an expectation expressed in the email, not a documented receipt or an investment by Epstein or Barak. PDF page 1, EFTA01002421.

The named shareholder and the unnamed company

The continuation on page 2 describes Ofer Amir as one of the company’s major shareholders and directs questions to him. It then carries the Victor Tshuva signature and legal confidentiality language. This guide omits the contact details, which are unnecessary to understanding the record. PDF page 2, EFTA01002422.

The company itself is not named in the chain. Later corporate records provide a useful contextual lead: Light & Strong’s June 24, 2015 Form F-1 identifies Ofer Amir among its principal shareholders and says he began serving as an active director in November 2014. A June 2015 consent identifies Victor Tshuva & Co. as the company’s Israeli legal advisers. SEC Form F-1, Principal Shareholders and director engagement disclosures; Exhibit 23.2, counsel consent.

Those name and timing overlaps make Light & Strong a plausible research lead. They do not supply the company name missing from this particular email, identify the two workbooks or prove a completed investment connected to this chain. The distinction is between corroborating a possible context and conclusively identifying the subject of an unnamed financial review.

There is also no basis in these pages to relabel the transaction as Reporty or Carbyne. Those business relationships require their own records and should not be merged with an unnamed company merely because some of the same people appear elsewhere.

The two spreadsheets are not in the PDF

The attachment line visibly lists Copy_of_cash_flow_6-11.14_uri.xlsx and Monthly_actual.xlsx. The filenames are evidence that the message lists two workbooks; they are not the workbooks themselves. Neither is embedded in the reviewed PDF. PDF page 1, EFTA01002421.

Without those files, the record does not permit reconstruction of monthly revenue, expenses, opening cash, closing cash, formulas or the owner’s loan. Nor does it show whether the sheets forwarded to Barak were complete or the same versions discussed in the earlier conversation.

The missing attachments are therefore a substantive limitation, not a minor formatting gap. They are the most direct next sources for testing both the correspondent’s financial claims and Epstein’s response.

Release provenance and page guide

The official DOJ Data Set 9 download is a three-page PDF beginning with EFTA01002421. The copy examined for this guide was compared against that official download on October 22, 2026. File size, SHA-256 digest, binary comparison and full extracted text matched. This establishes the identity of the released file, not independent validation of every statement inside the email. Official DOJ PDF.

PDF page Evidence identifier Contents and limits
1 EFTA01002421 Epstein’s warning, sender and recipient labels, date, attachment names, the Indyke forwarding line, the Teshuva message and its five financial qualifications.
2 EFTA01002422 The Ofer Amir shareholder reference, contact direction, signature material and confidentiality language. No spreadsheet data.
3 EFTA01002423 Continuation of confidentiality boilerplate. No additional investment terms or financial results.

What the record establishes and leaves open

Question Answer supported by these pages
Did Epstein give Barak negative financial advice? Yes. The displayed message criticizes the material and says “STAY AWAY.”
Did the chain carry a financial explanation through Indyke? Yes. It includes the forwarded author’s five qualifications and the shareholder contact reference.
Is the company conclusively identified here? No. Light & Strong is a context-supported lead, not a name printed in this chain.
Were the underlying financial claims verified? No. The two spreadsheets and supporting records are absent.
Did Barak or Epstein invest, withdraw or lose money? Not established by this PDF.
Does this document prove criminal conduct or an intelligence operation? No. It records a business communication and advice, not evidence establishing those claims.

The most useful further evidence would be the original workbooks, a company-identifying cover message, an authenticated reply from Barak and any transaction documents showing a resulting decision. A compensation award or bank record would be needed before turning the expected compensation into a receipt. None of those outcomes should be assumed from this chain.
