A March 8, 2005 manifest names Bill Murphy in its pilot field. A separate May 5, 2013 email discusses using him for a proposed St. Thomas–Orlando–Palm Beach flight and contains Epstein’s reply, “yes.” These are specific operational records. They should be distinguished from office messages that share the name but do not state a job title.
Key Takeaways
- The May 2013 exchange describes Murphy’s qualifications, proposes requesting insurance approval and includes Epstein’s reply; it does not document an insurer’s decision.
- March 2005 indexed legs provide a travel sequence to compare with the pilot’s later account.
- Office messages under the same name do not independently establish that every entry refers to the pilot.
The 2013 Pilot Email: Insurance and Actual Flight Planning
EFTA00959961, page 1, preserves the May 5, 2013 exchange. Visoski proposed Bill Murphy and Dave for the May 12 STT–Orlando–PBI trip. He described Murphy as type-rated in GIIB and GIV aircraft and as having attended GIV school within the previous twelve months. He said he could request insurance approval for Murphy on the GIIB and expected it under special-needs arrangements. Epstein’s reply at the top of the thread is “yes.”
The correspondence records staffing plans and a response, rather than a completed crew assignment. It does not include an insurer’s approval, an independently checked pilot certificate or the completed May 12 flight record. Those are separate evidentiary questions.
Visoski also wrote that Murphy had flown their GIIB with Dave and Ghislaine on a New York–California trip several years earlier. The message gives no date for that journey. The March 2005 records below provide a comparison, but do not establish that they are the exact trip he meant.
Flight Records and the Difference Between Crew and Passengers
EFTA02846460 is a released copy of a pilot log bearing a Government Exhibit 662-RR sticker and a separate public-release marking. Page 114 spells out Bill Murphy alongside the March 8, 2005 PBI–SAN entry and uses BM in the corresponding area on the March 13 SAN–MDW and March 14 MDW–TEB rows. The March 8 Hyperion Air manifest places Bill Murphy in the pilot field above the crossed-out printed name Larry Visoski. This supports a specific crew role. The later BM notations remain initials as written, not independently expanded full names.
The manifest’s pilot field is separate from its passenger list. Bill Murphy should therefore be described as a named pilot on that March 8 record, not counted as a passenger merely because a finding aid lists names together. The record does not establish a social relationship with every person aboard or knowledge of wrongdoing.
The Manhattan Appointment Schedule
The April 7–8 schedule, page 1, lists a 2:00 appointment with Bill Murphy at “71st” under Wednesday, April 7. No year is shown in that heading. It records a planned appointment, not verified attendance, a meeting with everyone else listed, or a pilot’s job assignment.
The schedule does not state this Bill Murphy’s occupation or the meeting’s purpose. A year, a reliable identity bridge and corroborating attendance evidence would be needed before linking it to a particular aviation discussion or completed visit.
What the Combined Records Establish
The March 8 manifest supports a named pilot role, and the May 2013 exchange discusses a person of the same name as a proposed crew member. The office messages and April schedule are different record types, but do not independently identify their Bill Murphy as that pilot. The log and duplicate manifest releases should not be counted as separate trips or treated as proof of a continuous employment history. None of the cited records establishes knowledge of abuse or criminal participation.
These documents should also be compared against the EpsteinWiki Flights and Travel Research Guide, which explains how independent aviation evidence and document provenance can resolve inconsistencies in derivative passenger lists.
Additional Office Messages and the Same Name Problem
Groff’s September 13, 2010 message reports that Bill Murphy is present, without identifying a location or occupation. Her April 28 message asks whether he may take May 24 and 25 off. Her May 24 reminder describes him as on holiday that day and the next. These are Groff’s messages under that name; they do not include a job title or independently connect the person to the pilot.
The 2013 pilot email is explicit about aviation qualifications. The 2010 messages and April schedule are not. A shared full name makes cross comparison reasonable; it does not conclusively establish that every Bill Murphy in the corpus is the same employee or contractor.
The March 2005 Recorded Flight Sequence
The table covers three March 2005 rows inspected in the original log, page 114. It does not claim a complete travel history or reproduce the earlier October 14, 2026 search. A retained 2005 flight-index snapshot associates Bill Murphy with March 13 and 14, but its March 8 PBI–SAN row does not include his name; the March 8 crew identification instead comes directly from the log and manifest.
The March 8 manifest appears in more than one released packet. EFTA02778657 page 54 and EFTA02796936 page 8 reproduce the same March 8 trip 1759 form, with different later court-filing headers. They are duplicate copies of one manifest, not separate journeys. Another copy, EFTA00179507 page 11, has redacted pilot fields and is not used to identify anyone behind a redaction. Its page 10 is a February 24 record, not the March 8 manifest.
| Recorded date | Route and aircraft | Inspected evidence and limit |
|---|---|---|
| 2005-03-08 | PBI to SAN; N909JE; trip 1759 | Log page 114 spells Bill Murphy. Manifest page 54 names him in the separate pilot field; EFTA02796936 page 8 is a duplicate of that form. |
| 2005-03-13 | SAN to MDW; N909JE; flight 1760 | Log page 114 records BM. The retained finding aid expands the name, but the handwritten row itself contains initials. |
| 2005-03-14 | MDW to TEB; N909JE; flight 1761 | Log page 114 again records BM; the same initials-versus-index distinction applies. The separately cited House manifest files were unavailable for this review and are not treated as inspected corroboration. |
The March 2005 rows describe Palm Beach–San Diego, San Diego–Chicago Midway and Chicago Midway–Teterboro. This sequence is a possible comparison with Visoski’s later reference to a New York–California trip. The undated recollection and these dated records do not establish an exact event match.
Questions and Unresolved Issues
- Was the proposed May 12, 2013 route flown, and who signed the actual crew log?
- What insurer approvals were requested or received for Murphy?
- Is there a separately inspectable crew record confirming the expansion of BM on March 13 and 14, 2005?
- When was the April 7 appointment schedule created and does it correspond to a completed visit?
- Do payroll, contractor or charter documents describe Murphy’s employment relationship and precise flight duties?
