| Evidence limit | The records establish a passenger-name entry; they do not establish employment, the purpose of travel or wrongdoing. |
Cresencia Valdez is named in the pilot log and a customs arrival record for a February 2005 journey from St. Thomas to Palm Beach. A matching Hyperion Air passenger manifest, dated February 19, 2005, writes the name as Cres Valdez. These records document the same journey; they do not establish a personal relationship with Epstein or participation in any crime. Pilot log; manifest; TECS report, pages 18–19.
Key Takeaways
- The February 19, 2005 manifest records Cres Valdez on trip 1756, N909JE, from TIST to PBI; the matching pilot log writes Cresencia Valdez.
- The TECS header and passenger page link Valdez, Cresencia to report 05NKPBI 03751, with a February 19 departure and February 20 arrival in Zulu time.
- Copies of the same border report are not independent journeys or separate witnesses.
What the Documents Reveal
The Hyperion Air passenger manifest gives the date as February 19, 2005, the route as TIST–PBI, the aircraft as N909JE and the trip number as 1756. Cres Valdez appears in its passenger list. Gary Roxburgh is handwritten in the separate pilot field, rather than in the passenger list.
The pilot log’s February 19 return leg on page 114 records the same aircraft, route and trip number and writes Cresencia Valdez. Together with the full name on the TECS passenger page, this supports reading Cres Valdez as the abbreviated name on the matching manifest. It does not supply a biography or establish that unrelated records bearing a similar name concern this traveler.
The Primary Flight Log and Its Limits
EFTA02846460 is a released copy of the pilot log bearing the Government Exhibit 662-RR sticker and a separate notation that it was publicly released in U.S. v. Maxwell. The Justice Department’s copy, page 114, shows the corresponding February 19 entry. The exhibit label identifies the document’s provenance; it is not a judicial finding about any named traveler. The log, manifest and border report document travel entries, not the traveler’s occupation, knowledge or conduct.
Researchers should distinguish the first historical log entry from its later reproduction as a spreadsheet, court exhibit, OCR transcription or online index. These can all refer to one journey. Counting each repetition as independent confirmation creates a false sense of corroboration.
Cross-Checked Flight Record
The saved extract from Epstein Data’s flight finding aid contains a merged row for this name and route, combining Cres Valdez and Cresencia Valdez from different source layers. That is a finding-aid result, not a count of all travel in the person’s life or proof that each indexed name represents a different passenger. The record below has been checked against the primary page images.
The two TECS releases reproduce the same report. The Justice Department PDF and EFTA02846460 reproduce the same pilot-log page. A manifest, a pilot log and a border report can be compared as different kinds of record for one journey; re-released copies of those records must not be counted as additional journeys or witnesses.

The Customs Arrival Record
The TECS header on page 18 and passenger list on page 19 share report ID 05NKPBI 03751. The header gives N909JE, St. Thomas as the departure city, KPBI as the arrival airport, departure at 22:18Z on February 19, 2005 and arrival at 01:17Z on February 20. Its passenger page names Valdez, Cresencia. EFTA01683110, pages 46–47, reproduces the same header and roster with different redactions. These are two releases of one border report. Private birth dates and other personal identifiers are not reproduced.
The screen header is dated March 2, 2006; the departure and arrival fields describe the February 2005 flight. Zulu time is UTC, so the arrival shortly after midnight UTC falls on the preceding evening in Palm Beach. That date rollover is not evidence of a second journey. The manifest records arrival at 7:58 p.m. without explicitly naming a timezone, while TECS records 01:17Z. The inspected records do not explain the difference. Redacted passenger entries remain unidentified.
The names also require care. The manifest’s pilot field writes Gary Roxburgh, while the TECS roster writes Roxburgh, Robert. These pages do not establish why the given names differ, and this article does not silently treat them as verified aliases. Neither the roster nor the manifest assigns Valdez an employment role or states the purpose of the journey.
Questions and Unresolved Issues
- What independent, public evidence identifies the traveler beyond the matching name entries?
- Do additional records establish Valdez’s occupation or the purpose of this journey? The manifest lists Valdez as a passenger and supplies no employment role.
- Can additional source records explain the arrival-time difference and the Gary/Robert Roxburgh naming difference?
- Are there further journeys documented under a verified name variant? One finding-aid match does not establish a complete travel history.
