John Stefanidis: correspondence and released-record review.

Key Takeaways

  • A May 2009 exchange contains both Epstein’s question about New York and Stefanidis’s reply describing work elsewhere. The reply does not arrange a New York meeting.
  • The public flight-log exhibit contains ten visible rows bearing the name John or Jon Stefanidis in 1993. This is a bounded count of identified rows, with handwriting qualifications, rather than a lifetime flight total.
  • A 2010 book invitation and December 2009 greetings have other visible recipients. Their presence in the released files does not establish an exchange with Epstein or attendance at an event.
  • The 2011 and 2013 design-image references were sent by Epstein. A filename containing Stefanidis’s name does not establish that Stefanidis sent the image or received a commission.
  • Repeated contact-database entries and duplicate email releases should not be counted as separate meetings or additional relationships.

Professional Background and Source Scope

Architectural Digest’s 2012 AD100 profile, published in December 2011, identifies Stefanidis as a London designer and names Leslie Wexner among his clients. This establishes a professional connection independently of the released Epstein records.

Big Dog Construction Services’ Abigail House project account credits Stefanidis with the interiors of the main house and guest pavilions at the Wexner residence in central Ohio. The account describes David Rosenof’s work while employed by L. Tobiason & Associates. It is a participant’s project history about the Wexner property, not evidence that Epstein commissioned Stefanidis to design a different property.

The release documents examined here include contemporaneous emails, a handwritten flight-log exhibit and forensic contact extracts. The surname search in the public document mirror supplied sixteen document leads; the flight-log exhibit was examined separately. The source table below covers these identified records. It does not claim that every occurrence across all releases, all spellings or all redacted material has been found.

1993: Visible Names in the Flight Log

The public copy of Government Exhibit 662-RR contains handwritten flight records. EpsteinWiki’s guide to the flight-log exhibit provides the document context. Its 118 pages were visually screened for this review. Ten visible rows on four pages contain the surname Stefanidis with the first name John or an apparent Jon. The table preserves route codes as written rather than inferring destinations beyond the airports or visits to particular properties.

The clearest aircraft fields on pages 17 and 19 read HS-125/700 or HS125-700 and registration N908JE. Later aircraft fields are more degraded. The entries using Jon are included as a handwriting variant, not silently converted into an exact John transcription. A name in the log does not independently establish biographical identity, the reason for travel, conduct during a journey or knowledge of crimes.

No additional explicit Stefanidis surname was identified in the rest of this exhibit during the review. That negative result is limited by faint handwriting, scan loss and redactions. Concealed names and initials-only entries were not attributed to Stefanidis. The ten rows therefore should not be presented as a comprehensive personal travel history.

May 2009: The Question and the Reply

The May 25 inquiry preserves Epstein’s question about whether Stefanidis was ever in New York. It quotes a May 24 update in which Stefanidis describes prospective work near Salonika and in Sofia, a house in Athens, and plans to go to Patmos. He also mentions a book about the house and garden expected from Rizzoli US in spring 2010.

The reply preserved in EFTA02442925 is important to the exchange’s meaning. Stefanidis says he is no longer going to New York, describes his work as being in Greece, the UK and Istanbul, and says he will let Epstein know if he gets to New York. He refers to multiple “W houses,” without spelling out that abbreviation, and to the Westons in Windsor, Florida. The abbreviation is not expanded here.

Together, the two records establish a direct exchange about travel, design work and a forthcoming book. They contain no completed New York meeting arrangement, design contract, invoice or payment. The displayed nested header times are not used to construct a minute-by-minute chronology.

December 2009 and February 2010: Greetings and Book Publicity

Two December 22, 2009 records, EFTA00766370 and EFTA00766371, display John Stefanidis as sender and Martin Harvey as recipient under a seasonal-greeting subject. Their timestamps are a few minutes apart. One names a Christmas image attachment. These short records do not display Epstein as the recipient and should not be recast as personal holiday correspondence with him.

The three-page February 17, 2010 invitation record is sent by Martin Harvey to several visible recipients. Its invitation from the directors of Heywood Hill announces an event marking publication of An Island Sanctuary by John Stefanidis on March 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The continuation contains mailing-list material and the company name John Stefanidis Brands Limited; the final page has no additional readable substantive text.

This is evidence of publicity for the book, not an attendance list or an RSVP. Epstein is not identified among the visible addressees. Neither this invitation nor the earlier book reference establishes that he attended the launch.

2011 and 2013: Design-Image References

The April 20, 2011 email is from Jeffrey Epstein and names an attachment, John+Stefanidis.jpg, with the brief message “relax room colors.” The recipient is not visible. EFTA01160084 and EFTA01865290 preserve the same timestamp and text in additional release copies. They represent one identified message family, not three demonstrated conversations with Stefanidis.

A November 5, 2013 email is addressed by Epstein to himself. It lists several inline-image filenames, including one containing John Stefanidis Brands Ltd, Windsor, Florida and a beach-living-room description. EFTA01189592, pages 1–2 is another copy, with the boilerplate continuing onto its second page.

The readable filename supplies a reference to a design image, rather than proof of who supplied it, what property it depicts or whether an image was commissioned for Epstein. The reviewed one-page 2013 rendering contains image placeholders, so it is not treated as a verified photograph of a room. Neither message demonstrates that Stefanidis participated in the exchange.

June 2012: Short Link-Only Records

Three single-page records display Stefanidis as sender on June 29, 2012: EFTA00647186, EFTA01879695 and EFTA02165193. The first two share a displayed 17:07:08 timestamp; the third displays 17:06:58. The more readable 17:07 copy includes Epstein’s account among otherwise redacted recipients and shows only an external link as its body. The other readable body is also a link.

These sparse headers and link-only messages do not establish the links’ purpose, authorship beyond the displayed sender field, a substantive discussion or a meeting. The external links are neither reproduced nor used as factual sources. The records are grouped together rather than inflated into evidence of an extended conversation.

Digital Contact-Database Entries

Three forensic extraction documents contain Mac AddressBook entries under the name john stefanidis. All 73 text pages across these three documents were checked for the surname. The matching entries occur at the following locations; their timestamps describe database metadata.

Released documentMatching pages / BatesWhat is recorded
EFTA010638659 / EFTA01063873; 14 / EFTA01063878Three entries in address-book and backup paths. Creation and modification metadata run from 2010 to 2014.
EFTA005137797 / EFTA00513785; 8 / EFTA00513786Two entries with database IDs 494 and 504. Metadata include 2011 and 2014 creation dates and later modification dates.
EFTA0050668418 / EFTA00506701; 19 / EFTA00506702Two entries with the same IDs and corresponding timestamps as the preceding extraction; one modification date is in 2017.

These are records of stored contact entries. Repeated entries can reflect different databases or backups and are not a count of encounters. A creation or modification timestamp does not establish a meeting date, a conversation or the duration of a relationship. The extraction’s presence in the release does not by itself identify the owner of every device or account. Private contact information and device-user paths are omitted.

Interpretation and Public Response

  • The May 2009 exchange is direct correspondence. The holiday greetings and book invitation have different visible addressees.
  • The design-image messages are Epstein’s messages referring to Stefanidis by filename. They do not establish a design commission or a reply from Stefanidis.
  • Flight-log entries document written names and routes, with the transcription limits set out above. They do not establish misconduct or onward travel from the listed airports.
  • The reviewed records contain no allegation that Stefanidis participated in Epstein’s crimes. This is a conclusion about the content examined, not a claim to have resolved every question about his contacts.

No direct public response from Stefanidis addressing these particular released records was located in the sources searched for this review. That is a search limitation, not evidence that he declined to comment or never made a statement.
