EFTA00835392: 2018 Email About Egg Retrieval Procedure Communicated to Jeffrey Epstein

Snapshot

EFTA00835392 is a one page email chain dated April 10 and 11, 2018. A correspondent whose identity is redacted tells Jeffrey Epstein that hormone treatment has been unpleasant and that an egg retrieval procedure will probably occur during the coming weekend.

Epstein had asked whether the correspondent was feeling better. An earlier message from the correspondent asked whether Epstein and an unspecified island were safe following a reported fire.

The document proves that Epstein received a personal update about hormone treatment and a possible egg retrieval. It does not establish the purpose of the treatment or show that Epstein arranged, financed, attended, or otherwise participated in the procedure.

Email Chain

At 4:49 p.m. on April 11, 2018, the redacted correspondent replied to Epstein:

“The hormones are not fun but I’m fine. Will probably have the egg retrieval surgery this weekend.”

Earlier that day, Epstein wrote from his jeevacation@gmail.com account that he was in New York and asked whether the correspondent was feeling better.

The first visible message in the chain was sent late on April 10. The correspondent asked about a reported fire, whether Epstein was safe, and whether an unidentified island was safe.

The released page does not contain Epstein’s answer to the questions about the fire.

What the Record Establishes

The document establishes that:

  • Epstein and the redacted correspondent were communicating directly in April 2018.
  • Epstein knew that the correspondent had recently been feeling unwell or uncomfortable.
  • The correspondent reported undergoing hormone treatment.
  • The correspondent anticipated an egg retrieval procedure during the following weekend.
  • The exchange was sufficiently personal for the correspondent to discuss medical treatment and ask about Epstein’s safety.
  • The chain contains a reference to an island, but it does not identify that island.

Medical Context

The American Society for Reproductive Medicine explains that ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval can be parts of an in vitro fertilization cycle. Egg retrieval may also occur when eggs are being collected for fertility preservation.

EFTA00835392 does not state whether the correspondent was pursuing in vitro fertilization, freezing unfertilized eggs, donating eggs, or undergoing another form of fertility treatment. It also does not identify a physician, clinic, intended parent, donor, partner, or source of payment.

The phrase “egg retrieval surgery” is the correspondent’s own description. The article should preserve that wording without converting it into a more specific medical diagnosis or treatment plan.

The Reference to a Fire and an Island

The earliest visible message asks about a fire and whether an island was safe. The page provides no location, date, property name, or further explanation.

Epstein owned property on Little St. James, but the word “island” in this email cannot be conclusively identified as Little St. James from this page alone. Any such identification would require another message, property record, news report, or other corroborating evidence.

Evidentiary Limits

EFTA00835392 does not establish:

  • The identity of the redacted correspondent.
  • The precise fertility treatment being undertaken.
  • Whether the anticipated retrieval occurred.
  • Whether any eggs were successfully retrieved.
  • Whether retrieved eggs were frozen, fertilized, transferred, donated, or used.
  • Whether Epstein arranged or paid for the treatment.
  • Whether Epstein was an intended parent or donor.
  • Whether the treatment involved any criminal or improper conduct.
  • Which island or fire was referenced.

These limitations are important because fertility related communications elsewhere in the archive do not automatically prove that the same people, clinics, or plans were involved in this exchange.

Archive Context

Other released records document separate fertility related communications involving Epstein. They can provide broader archival context, but they do not independently identify the redacted correspondent in EFTA00835392.

Relevant records include:

The existence of these records supports examining fertility related communications as an archive category. It does not prove that every record concerns one coordinated plan.

Evidence Appearances

The same email chain appears under at least two evidence identifiers:

  • EFTA00835392, the Data Set 9 copy used as the primary record for this article.
  • EFTA02473690, a duplicate archival copy containing the same email chain.

The duplicate identifier should be documented as another appearance of the same underlying communication, not treated as a separate event.

Why This Document Matters

EFTA00835392 provides a contemporaneous record showing that a redacted correspondent shared sensitive fertility related medical information directly with Epstein. His preceding question indicates that he was already aware of the correspondent’s physical condition.

The document contributes to the archive’s record of fertility related discussions involving Epstein. Its significance lies in the direct communication and its timing, not in assumptions about the correspondent’s identity or Epstein’s role in the treatment.

Careful interpretation is necessary because the single released page leaves the medical purpose, financial arrangements, identities, and outcome unresolved.

Questions Still Unanswered

  • Who was the redacted correspondent?
  • What type of fertility treatment was being undertaken?
  • Which physician or clinic was involved?
  • Did the anticipated egg retrieval occur?
  • What role, if any, did Epstein have beyond receiving the update?
  • What fire prompted the earlier message?
  • Which island was the correspondent asking about?
  • Do adjacent emails contain additional context or identify the participants?
