EFTA00827984: 2016 Email From Jeffrey Epstein Asking About Sperm Banking

Snapshot

EFTA00827984 is a May 9, 2016 email from Jeffrey Epstein to physician Harry Fisch asking where he could bank sperm and whether a prescription was required.

Fisch replied approximately 19 minutes later with the telephone number for California Cryobank in New York and stated that the facility accepted deposits. Epstein then forwarded the reply to Karyna Shuliak with the instruction to obtain the necessary paperwork.

The complete communication chain appears across several evidence records, including EFTA01743289, EFTA00699189, and EFTA00534034.

These records establish that Epstein asked about sperm banking, received a referral, and instructed Shuliak to obtain paperwork. They do not establish that Epstein completed an appointment, deposited sperm, stored a specimen, used any stored specimen to create a pregnancy, or identified an intended recipient.

Document Details

Primary evidence: EFTA00827984

Date: May 9, 2016

Time: 14:36:09 UTC

Sender: Jeffrey Epstein

Sender address: jeevacation@gmail.com

Recipient: Harry Fisch

Subject: Blank

Request: Information about sperm banking and whether a prescription was required

Named facility in reply: California Cryobank in New York

Person later instructed to obtain paperwork: Karyna Shuliak

Collection: Department of Justice Epstein Files

Primary data set: Data Set 9

Epstein’s Initial Request

In EFTA00827984, Epstein writes to Harry Fisch:

harry i want to bank some sperm, where do I go.? prescription/ ?

The message is direct and written in the first person. It establishes that Epstein was seeking information about storing his sperm and wanted to know where to go and whether a prescription was necessary.

The email does not explain:

  • Why Epstein wanted to bank sperm.
  • Whether the request related to a medical condition.
  • Whether a physician recommended storage.
  • Whether Epstein was preparing for medical treatment.
  • Whether a specific person was expected to use the specimen.
  • Whether the request was connected to in vitro fertilization.
  • Whether Epstein intended to have a child.
  • Whether any previous specimen had been stored.

The remainder of the page consists primarily of Epstein’s standard email disclaimer. That boilerplate language says the communication may be confidential or privileged, but its inclusion does not independently establish attorney client privilege.

Harry Fisch’s Reply

Harry Fisch’s response is preserved in at least two records:

The reply was sent at approximately 14:55 UTC, about 19 minutes after Epstein’s request.

Fisch tells Epstein to call 212 779 1608. He identifies the facility as California Cryobank in New York and says it accepts deposits.

Fisch does not directly answer Epstein’s question about whether a prescription was required. His instruction to call the facility suggests that Epstein would need to obtain procedural information directly from the cryobank.

The reply does not show Fisch scheduling an appointment, issuing a prescription, ordering testing, or agreeing to collect a specimen.

Epstein’s Instruction to Karyna Shuliak

The most complete version of the communication chain appears in EFTA00534034 and continues onto EFTA00534035.

At 15:01:47 UTC, approximately six minutes after Fisch’s reply, Epstein forwarded the exchange to Karyna Shuliak and wrote:

get all the paperwork etc.

The sequence shows that Epstein moved quickly from asking Fisch for information to directing Shuliak to handle the administrative steps.

The record establishes that Shuliak received the instruction. It does not establish that she:

  • Contacted California Cryobank.
  • Obtained the paperwork.
  • Completed forms on Epstein’s behalf.
  • Scheduled an appointment.
  • Accompanied Epstein to a facility.
  • Handled or transported a specimen.
  • Participated in any reproductive procedure.

No reply from Shuliak is included in this evidence chain.

Communication Timeline

14:36:09 UTC: Epstein emails Harry Fisch asking where he can bank sperm and whether a prescription is required.

14:55:26 UTC: Fisch replies with a telephone number for California Cryobank in New York and says the facility accepts deposits.

15:01:47 UTC: Epstein forwards the reply to Karyna Shuliak and instructs her to obtain the paperwork.

The visible exchange occurred over approximately 26 minutes.

This timeline demonstrates intent and administrative follow through. It does not establish that a deposit actually occurred.

Duplicate Evidence Copies

The initial request and response appear in multiple Department of Justice records.

EFTA00827984 preserves Epstein’s original request.

EFTA02463679 preserves another copy of the original message with email system metadata.

EFTA00699189 preserves Fisch’s response and the quoted original request.

EFTA01743289 preserves another copy of Fisch’s response.

EFTA00534034 preserves Epstein’s forwarded instruction to Shuliak, Fisch’s reply, and Epstein’s original request.

EFTA00534035 contains the continuation of the email disclaimer from the preceding page.

These records document one communication chain, not six separate requests to bank sperm.

Harry Fisch

Harry Fisch is identified as the recipient of Epstein’s original email. Fisch was known for work involving urology, male reproductive health, and male infertility.

His appearance in this record is limited. He received a question from Epstein and referred him to California Cryobank in New York.

The evidence does not establish that Fisch:

  • Treated Epstein.
  • Examined Epstein.
  • Collected a specimen.
  • Stored a specimen.
  • Prescribed medication.
  • Participated in an in vitro fertilization procedure.
  • Knew how Epstein intended to use any stored sperm.

The record should not be expanded beyond the limited referral documented in the email.

California Cryobank

Harry Fisch identified California Cryobank in New York as a facility that accepted deposits.

California Cryobank has provided sperm banking, reproductive tissue storage, and related services. The organization’s current information is available through the California Cryobank website.

The appearance of the facility’s name in Fisch’s reply does not establish that California Cryobank accepted or stored a specimen from Epstein.

No intake form, payment record, laboratory report, storage invoice, specimen identifier, collection appointment, or confirmation of deposit appears in this specific email chain.

A separate record preserved as EFTA00313838 contains a California Cryobank specimen storage agreement bearing what appears to be Epstein’s handwritten name. That document provides important related evidence, but the released records must still be compared carefully before concluding that the agreement resulted directly from this May 9 exchange.

Connection to Karyna Shuliak

Epstein’s decision to forward the exchange to Karyna Shuliak shows that he expected her to assist with the paperwork or administrative process.

The message is consistent with other records showing Shuliak handling personal tasks and communications for Epstein. However, this specific record does not define her employment status, authority, or personal interest in the sperm banking request.

The evidence does not establish that the stored material, if any was ultimately deposited, was intended for use by Shuliak.

Additional information about her documented role appears in the EpsteinWiki Karyna Shuliak article and the Sleuth Report on Karyna Shuliak’s expanded role.

Relationship to Other Fertility Records

The May 2016 sperm banking request is not the only released evidence concerning Epstein’s interest in reproduction, fertility services, biological material, or genetic testing.

In EFTA00940204, Epstein wrote in August 2012 that he had been reading about in vitro fertilization and wanted to discuss it before the recipient began taking hormones.

A reply preserved as EFTA00552910 says the recipient was arranging an appointment with a physician recommended by Eva.

The EpsteinWiki article EFTA00313838: California Cryobank Specimen Storage Agreement Signed by Jeffrey Epstein examines a separate storage agreement involving semen specimens or testicular samples.

The archive also contains EFTA02329528, a March 2016 email sent to Epstein and Shuliak that references Dr. Rosenwaks. A duplicate of that email includes a photograph of numerous blood collection tubes. That record does not establish the purpose of the blood testing.

In EFTA02216974, Epstein asked about obtaining 30 DNA testing kits.

Taken together, these records document sustained interest in reproductive planning, specimen storage, fertility procedures, and genetic testing. They do not, without further evidence, prove a single coordinated reproductive program or establish how Epstein intended to use every service discussed.

Why This Record Matters

EFTA00827984 is important because it directly records Epstein stating that he wanted to bank sperm.

The follow up records establish that:

  • Epstein asked a male reproductive health physician where to go.
  • Harry Fisch referred him to California Cryobank in New York.
  • The facility accepted deposits.
  • Epstein forwarded the information to Karyna Shuliak.
  • Epstein instructed Shuliak to obtain the paperwork.

This sequence is more substantial than an isolated question. It documents an expressed intention followed by immediate administrative action.

Even so, the record stops before confirming a completed deposit. Researchers still need intake records, appointment records, payment records, laboratory documentation, specimen storage records, and disposition instructions.

Survivor Centered Context

Epstein’s documented interest in sperm banking and reproductive planning is concerning when considered alongside his criminal history and reported ideas about reproduction and genetics.

That broader context justifies careful investigation. It does not justify identifying an intended recipient without evidence or claiming that a child was conceived using Epstein’s stored material.

No survivor, former employee, associate, or person appearing in a separate fertility record should be assigned a reproductive role through speculation.

The responsible approach is to document what Epstein requested, trace the administrative chain, locate the missing records, and clearly separate evidence from inference.
