| Evidence limits | Appearances do not establish knowledge of or involvement in criminal conduct |
Years before police began investigating Jeffrey Epstein in Palm Beach, a name appeared repeatedly in his aircraft logs: Dawn DeVito. The released evidence places her in the early travel record, and an FBI witness later remembered traveling with her. But the most interesting issue is not simply how often the name appears. It is how different document types describe the same individual and why those descriptions must be checked rather than assumed.
Key Takeaways
- The exact name index returned 37 entries, each preserved as a scoped finding aid.
- A witness’s August 2020 interview recalls DeVito as a yoga instructor on a 1994 flight.
- A later released copy of that interview is not a second independent witness account.
1993: The Palm Beach and New York Flight Circuit
the original government flight log exhibit. Secondary flight indexing of the original logs identifies an August 25, 1993 trip from Palm Beach International to Teterboro on N108JE, listing Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and Dawn DeVito. Further entries index the same group on October 3, October 11, October 15, October 17 and November 10 of that year. The underlying manuscript flight records are essential to verify the order of legs, aircraft numbers, and whether the name was written in full or abbreviated. The controlling source is
The significance of this period is chronological: these records place the name in Epstein’s aircraft operations years before the public 2005 Palm Beach criminal investigation. They cannot tell a researcher why she flew or what she knew about anyone else’s activities.
1994: The Entries That Can Be Cross Checked
By 1994 the indexed aircraft movement list again shows DeVito on a series of legs. On May 30, 1994 a Palm Beach to Chicago Midway entry lists Epstein, Maxwell, DeVito and Jim Worden. On June 5 a Palm Beach to Teterboro entry records the same group. Another original flight log extract lists an August 20 Traverse City to Teterboro journey with Epstein, Maxwell and DeVito, and August 30 entries listing DeVito on the Teterboro to Columbus and Columbus to Palm Beach portions. The aircraft registration, routing, exact name rendering, and adjacent page entries should be recorded before a normalized count is published.
Government Exhibit 662 RR preserves a courtroom provenance for the pilot’s record. Other releases, including House Oversight and FOIA extracts, can reproduce the same source entry. Counting each copy as a new trip would be a basic research error.
The FBI Recollection: Yoga Instructor
EFTA01245482 is an FBI interview record in which a witness recalls a flight with Dawn DeVito in 1994 and describes DeVito as a yoga instructor. The statement is evidence of the witness’s recollection and of the words recorded by agents. It is not proof of exactly what transpired on that flight, and the witness makes clear in the broader interview that memory of individual routes and who returned on which plane could be uncertain.
That nuance matters. If a later flight spreadsheet supplies an itinerary, it should not be substituted for the interviewee’s own uncertain memory. A robust article presents the two records together and explains the difference between contemporaneous log entries and retrospective witness recollection.
The Address Book and Occupation Question
An Epstein contact directory appears in EFTA00191467. Independent contact book indexing reports an entry for Dawn DeVito and another spelling under Dawn James DeVito, with notes interpreted as Palm Beach massage services. An address book is evidence that details were retained, not proof that every label was current or that every professional service was rendered. The contact annotation also should not be confused with an allegation of sexual wrongdoing.
The witness description of a yoga instructor and an address book note about massage work may refer to overlapping work, different time periods or an indexing error. Source images, verified biographical identification and dated business material would be needed to resolve that uncertainty.
What Readers Should and Should Not Infer
There is a meaningful investigative story here about how Epstein’s network of household services, travel and personal contacts operated years before his criminal case became public. It is not a story that justifies imputing criminal intent to a person named in a log. There is no documentary foundation in these specific sources for accusations against DeVito. The journalistic obligation is to explain the records, the dates, and the open questions without escalating coappearance into culpability.
Retrieved Flight Index Entries
Epstein Data’s flight finding aid returned 37 matching entries for this recorded spelling on October 14, 2026. The following table includes every returned entry in that search. It is a scoped search inventory, not a claim that every journey in the person’s life or every released record has been found.
The source column identifies records attached to the indexed flight. It does not assert that every attached record names this traveler. Some original sources preserve only a route, initials or redacted passengers, while a derivative compiler supplies a full name. Those distinctions must remain visible. Multiple source labels can refer to copies or transcriptions of one underlying record.

Interview Date, Source Copies and Recollection
The FD 302 referring to Dawn DeVito concerns an August 12, 2020 interview. Its entry date is August 27, 2020, while the draft date is August 17. Those are distinct record dates. The witness recalls traveling with DeVito in 1994 and describes her as a yoga instructor.
A later released copy contains the same relevant recollection. It is another production of the account, not a second witness independently confirming the occupation. The witness’s uncertainty about some travel details must remain part of the interpretation.
The exact name search also found EFTA00157634, where DeVito appears within a description of names remembered from a contact book. That is evidence of an account of the book’s contents. It is distinct from directly reading an original directory entry.
Questions and Unresolved Issues
- Which precise manuscript log pages support each claimed travel leg in 1993 and 1994?
- Do Dawn James DeVito and Dawn DeVito represent the same person, and what primary evidence confirms that?
- What professional role was contemporaneously documented during the periods of travel?
- Are original witness interview notes available to clarify the 1994 recollection?
- Do other flight, office, or appointment records independently establish the purpose of the trips?
