Cecilia Alessi: An Unverified Name in the Epstein Record

The existing EpsteinWiki article identifying “Cecilia Alessi” as Jeffrey Epstein’s Manhattan household employee and Juan Alessi’s wife is not supported by the available evidence.

The documented woman was Maria Alessi, not Cecilia Alessi.

Sworn testimony, police records, federal prosecution material, investigative reporting, and later coverage consistently identify Maria Alessi as Juan Alessi’s wife. Those same sources place Juan and Maria at Epstein’s Palm Beach residence, not as a married household team living and working at Epstein’s Manhattan mansion.

No reliable court filing, deposition, FBI interview, Epstein Data record, or directly relevant sleuth investigation reviewed for this article establishes that a Cecilia Alessi worked for Epstein.

This page therefore serves as a correction and disambiguation record. Claims previously attributed to Cecilia Alessi should not be repeated unless a primary document identifying a separate person by that name is located.

The Existing Identification Is Unsupported

An earlier version of this page described Cecilia Alessi as:

  • Juan Alessi’s wife
  • An Epstein household employee
  • A resident or employee at 9 East 71st Street in Manhattan
  • A witness appearing in civil litigation
  • A person who denied knowingly facilitating abuse

Those statements were not accompanied by a deposition, FBI report, police record, EFTA document, or reliable news article identifying Cecilia Alessi.

The available record instead identifies Maria Alessi as Juan Alessi’s wife and fellow household employee.

The earlier page also linked to general articles about Jeffrey Epstein, Virginia Giuffre, and Maria Farmer. Those materials did not substantiate the specific claims about Cecilia.

A source mentioning Epstein’s household staff generally cannot be used to establish that a particular person worked there.

Maria Alessi Was Juan Alessi’s Wife

Juan Alessi’s sworn testimony identifies his wife as Maria.

Federal prosecutors reached the same conclusion. In a prosecution memorandum preserved in EFTA02731168, investigators wrote that:

“Alessi’s wife, Maria Alessi, also worked for Epstein part time as housekeeper.”

The memorandum states that investigators interviewed Maria and concluded that she did not appear to possess information relevant to the specific prosecution issues under review.

That assessment does not establish that Maria knew nothing about the household. It records the prosecutors’ judgment about the evidentiary value of her interview for that case.

Lisa Tait’s investigation of Juan Alessi also identifies Maria as Juan’s wife and describes them as a married couple who worked for Epstein.

No corresponding source identifies Cecilia as Juan’s wife.

The Documented Employment Was in Palm Beach

Juan and Maria Alessi were associated with Epstein’s residence at 358 El Brillo Way in Palm Beach, Florida.

Juan worked as Epstein’s house manager, driver, butler, and household employee from approximately 1991 until 2002. Maria worked part time as a housekeeper and shopper for approximately eight years.

New York magazine’s 2007 investigation reported that Maria cleaned and shopped for Epstein but said she never had a direct conversation with him.

That description illustrates the severe hierarchy inside the household. Epstein reportedly did not want to encounter the Alessis while staying at the property, even though they performed the work required to maintain it.

Nothing in that report identifies Maria as Cecilia or places a Cecilia Alessi at Epstein’s Manhattan residence.

Maria’s Work in the Household

The evidence indicates that Maria’s responsibilities included:

  • Cleaning Epstein’s Palm Beach residence
  • Shopping for the household
  • Performing domestic work while attempting to avoid direct interaction with Epstein
  • Occasionally driving household visitors
  • Working alongside her husband during part of his employment

At Ghislaine Maxwell’s 2021 trial, Juan Alessi testified about the Palm Beach household, including the detailed rules imposed on staff and the transportation of teenage visitors.

The trial record identified his wife as another person who worked in the household. It did not identify her as Cecilia.

Police and Prosecutor Contacts

Juan and Maria Alessi became potential witnesses during the Palm Beach investigation.

Police records document attempts to interview former Epstein employees. In November 2005, Juan and Maria were reportedly served through the subpoena process and appeared at the State Attorney’s Office with attorney Donnie Murrell.

The couple’s initial decision to decline voluntary interviews does not establish criminal involvement. Witnesses may seek legal counsel before speaking with investigators for many reasons.

Later federal material confirms that Maria was interviewed.

Once again, the documented name is Maria.

No Verified Cecilia Alessi Testimony Was Located

The previous version of this page stated that Cecilia appeared in sworn testimony and civil litigation.

No verified deposition transcript or affidavit from a Cecilia Alessi has been located.

The relevant litigation records instead identify:

A claim that someone “appeared in litigation” should identify the case, docket entry, document, date, and capacity in which the person appeared. None was supplied for Cecilia.

No Verified Manhattan Employment Was Located

The earlier article placed Cecilia at Epstein’s Manhattan mansion at 9 East 71st Street.

That claim is not supported by the records reviewed.

Juan Alessi’s documented employment centered on the Palm Beach estate. He sometimes traveled or performed duties connected to Epstein’s broader property network, but that does not establish that his wife lived and worked in Manhattan.

Epstein employed separate household workers in New York. Those employees included house managers, housekeepers, assistants, chefs, and maintenance staff whose employment periods sometimes overlapped with the Alessis’ work in Florida.

The existence of household staff at 9 East 71st Street cannot be used to place Cecilia or Maria there without a document naming them.

Possible Sources of the Error

Several explanations could account for the unsupported Cecilia entry:

Confusion with Maria Alessi

This is the most likely explanation. Maria is the documented wife and household employee.

Confusion with Cecilia Stein or Cecilia Steen

Epstein records contain other women named Cecilia, including Cecilia Stein or Steen. Similar first names may have been combined with Juan Alessi’s surname during list compilation.

A Cecilia Stein or Steen should not be merged with the Alessi family without documentary evidence.

Unsourced Online Lists

Numerous social media posts circulate large lists of people supposedly connected to Epstein. Some repeat “Cecilia Alessi” without identifying a document.

Repetition across copied lists is not independent corroboration. Many lists copy from one another, preserve spelling errors, merge separate identities, and omit evidentiary context.

Automated Name Association

Search engines and automated databases sometimes create relationships from nearby names. A page containing “Cecilia” and “Juan Alessi” does not establish a person named Cecilia Alessi.

Relevant Sleuth Research

Lisa Tait’s focused investigation into Juan Alessi identifies Maria as his wife and examines the couple’s employment within Epstein’s Palm Beach household.

Tait’s work is relevant because she compared Juan’s deposition, public interviews, podcast statements, conversations with Virginia Giuffre, and testimony at Maxwell’s trial. Her investigation does not identify a Cecilia Alessi.

No directly relevant article identifying a Cecilia Alessi was located in the reviewed archives of Ellie Leonard, American Freakshow, Bekah Day, Document Zero, Katie Phang, Greg Conners, or Butterfly Bureau.

Those publications should not be added merely to make the source list longer. None presently supplies evidence for this identity.

Corrective Conclusion

The available evidence does not support maintaining Cecilia Alessi as a verified Epstein household employee.

The current documentary record identifies Maria Alessi as Juan Alessi’s wife and the woman who worked part time inside Epstein’s Palm Beach household.

Unless a primary record surfaces establishing that Cecilia was a separate employee or an alternate name used by Maria, claims about Cecilia’s employment, residence, testimony, or knowledge should be removed.

This page should either remain as a documented correction or redirect readers to the forthcoming Maria Alessi article. It should not continue presenting unsupported claims as biography.
