Snapshot

Dr. Melanie S. Walker is an American physician, neuroscientist, global health adviser who held senior roles at the Gates Foundation and World Bank. Her documented association with Jeffrey Epstein lasted almost three decades.

Walker wrote in 2018 that she had known Epstein for 28 years and that Donald Trump introduced them. Later reporting placed their first meeting around 1992 at New York’s Plaza Hotel.

Reporting describes Epstein encouraging Walker’s medical career, offering access to an apartment and making introductions. Released records show professional advice and information sharing concerning Bill Gates, Steven Sinofsky and related institutions. The extent of any financial support, and whether the apartment was a residence or an occasional place to stay, remain disputed or incompletely documented.

The surviving record includes three indexed flights attributed to Walker in 1998, substantial message exports, professional proposals, affectionate communications and forwarded emails. It also includes discussion of Gates, Prince Andrew, Boris Nikolic, the World Economic Forum and medical research. Database rows and message counts are not equivalent to independently verified events.

Walker’s attorney, David Fleissig, has described her as a survivor of Epstein who experienced a coercive relationship lasting decades. That account must be considered alongside records showing that she remained close to Epstein, sought his advice, facilitated introductions, and supplied him with sensitive information. Continued communication does not by itself disprove coercion, particularly when a relationship involved reported mentorship, career assistance, access to accommodation and unequal power.

The sources examined for this edition do not establish that Walker participated in Epstein’s sexual abuse or trafficking operation. Association, correspondence, a flight-index entry and an institutional position are not evidence of that participation by themselves. This is an evidence assessment, not a certification that every criminal, civil or survivor record has been searched.

This article distinguishes documented conduct from allegations, reported claims, institutional findings, and unresolved questions.

Research edition: October 19, 2026. This is a comprehensive, expandable guide to the evidence examined, not a claim to have read every released page. It distinguishes a source’s contents from the truth of every assertion inside it, separates completed acts from proposals, and gives investigators specific records to obtain next.

Identity and Names

Walker uses Melanie S. Walker professionally; UW Medicine also displays Melanie S Z Walker. Earlier records identify her as Melanie Starnes. These forms should not be treated as a complete verified legal-name history.

The following names appear in records connected to her:

Name or identifier Context
Melanie S. Walker Current professional name
Melanie Starnes Earlier surname
Melanie Starves Apparent flight record transcription or optical recognition error
Mel Informal name used in communications
Melz Informal name used in Epstein messages
Mele Apparent spelling variation
MEGAMELSY Self assigned nickname appearing in communications
Pumpkin Walker’s affectionate name for Epstein in some messages

The misspelling “Melanie Starves” appears in indexed flight records. The surrounding evidence strongly indicates that it refers to Melanie Starnes, later Melanie Walker.

MEGAMELSY is a self-description in the messages, not proof of a covert operational role. EFTA01618131, page 4 (Bates EFTA01618134), dated June 30, 2014, contains the self-label. Its value is as a cross-reference when combined with dates, contact continuity and other identifying details. The nickname alone does not establish the author of every redacted message.

The Epstein Data pseudonym registry provides additional documentary analysis of these name variations.

Search the full name, earlier surname, documented variants and message identifiers separately. Do not merge unrelated people named Melanie or Walker. “Mel,” “Mele,” or a blacked-out contact block is not sufficient identification without surrounding context. “Melanie Starves” is an index spelling, not a separate proven person. Nor does “Pumpkin,” Walker’s term for Epstein in cited messages, automatically identify every use of that common nickname elsewhere.

The document reader’s contact labels, OCR text, a researcher’s attribution and an official investigator’s attribution are different evidentiary layers. In particular, House staff explicitly acknowledged that the September 2017 exhibit lacks participant names while stating their understanding that the participants were Epstein and Walker. Preserve that qualification when quoting the exhibit.

Professional Background

Walker earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1998. According to her official University of Washington profile, she later completed a computational neurobiology fellowship at the California Institute of Technology, a neurology residency at the University of Washington, a vascular neurology fellowship, and an endovascular neurosurgery fellowship.

Her current fields include vascular neurology, stroke treatment, endovascular neurosurgery, and neurological research. She is associated with the University of Washington and Harborview Medical Center and founded the University of Washington Clot Bank.

Her UW Medicine biography describes her as a specialist in stroke, vascular neurology, and minimally invasive neurological procedures. Her academic work includes federally supported stroke research.

Walker’s broader career included influential positions outside clinical medicine. Her World Economic Forum biography lists work connected to:

Institution Reported role
Gates Foundation Senior program officer and deputy director for special initiatives
World Bank Senior adviser and director in the office of President Jim Yong Kim
World Health Organization Adviser on macroeconomics and health
bgC3 and Bill Gates’s private office Adviser on neurotechnology and brain science
World Economic Forum Contributor and participant in global agenda initiatives
University of Washington Physician, researcher, and clinical professor

Her professional résumé is substantial and independently verifiable. The Epstein record does not invalidate her medical training or automatically establish that her legitimate scientific work was improper.

The relevant question is how Epstein’s mentorship, introductions, funding discussions, and access intersected with that career.

Dated institutional checkpoints

The current UW Medicine biography dates her medical education to 1998, Caltech fellowship to 2001, UW neurology residency to 2004, vascular-neurology fellowship to 2006 and endovascular-neurosurgery fellowship to 2019. The departmental biography lists her current rank as Clinical Professor. Those dates matter: it is inaccurate to project a later endovascular qualification backward across the entire Epstein relationship.

UW lists neurology and vascular-neurology certifications through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Separately, its departmental page uses the wording “Recognized Focus Practice in CNS Endovascular Surgery” for the American Board of Neurological Surgery credential. That should not be rewritten as an unsupported claim that she completed a conventional neurosurgical residency or held a different board certification.

A September 2010 Gates Foundation announcement identifies her as a senior program officer for the Urban Poverty Special Initiative. The June 1–3, 2016 World Bank leadership forum lists her as senior adviser to its president and director of its Delivery Unit. These dated records are more precise than assuming every role on an undated biography was concurrent.

The UW departmental Winter 2018 newsletter, printed page 8, describes Walker as a neurologist undertaking endovascular fellowship and discusses her Rockefeller fellowship. The Rockefeller Foundation’s 2017 tax return, printed page 244, supplies an independent fellowship entry. The AMA Foundation’s 2020 impact report lists her on its 2020–21 board. None of these historic entries by itself establishes a continuing 2026 appointment.

Introduction to Epstein

Walker’s own account identifies Donald Trump as the person who introduced her to Epstein.

In HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_032804, Walker wrote:

“I’ve known Jeffrey 28 years and this isn’t a joke. Donald Trump introduced us.”

The statement was made in 2018. Counting backward places the introduction around 1990. Other reporting places their first encounter closer to 1992.

The Wall Street Journal profile of Walker reported that she met Epstein at the Plaza Hotel after attending the University of Texas. According to that account, the initial conversation involved possible modeling work connected to Victoria’s Secret. Epstein subsequently encouraged her to enter medical school.

The available evidence establishes that Walker attributed the introduction to Trump. It does not establish what Trump knew about Epstein’s later relationship with Walker or whether Trump remained involved in their contact.

Mentorship, Housing, and Dependency

Epstein’s influence reportedly extended beyond an ordinary friendship. Sources describe encouragement of Walker’s medical ambitions, introductions, scientific advice and access to accommodation. The actual terms of any payment, tenancy, tuition support or employment arrangement require separate documentation.

Vicky Ward’s August 2021 reporting says records listed Walker at an Epstein-controlled New York building from 1992 to 2000. It also reports a source familiar with Walker disputing that she lived there, saying the apartment was available for occasional visits. An address appearing in a record does not by itself establish occupancy, continuous residence, rent payment or dependency.

Mentorship, access, emotional intimacy and confidential advice are relevant to the coercion account advanced by Walker’s attorney. They do not establish, without more, the terms or degree of control Epstein exercised. Affectionate messages and assistance are compatible with several explanations; they cannot independently resolve whether a relationship was coercive.

Indexed 1998 Flights

Three database records indexed under Walker’s profile attribute flights to her. The table describes the index, not a newly authenticated transcription of the original handwritten manifests.

Date Route Aircraft Indexed passenger names
June 12, 1998 Teterboro, New Jersey, to St Thomas Boeing 727, N908JE Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, Emmy Tayler, Clare Hazell Iveagh, Clare Hazell, and “Melanie Starves”
June 15, 1998 St Thomas to John F. Kennedy International Airport Boeing 727, N908JE The same indexed group, including a duplicated Clare Hazell identity
August 4, 1998 Teterboro to East Hampton Boeing 727, N908JE Jeffrey Epstein and “Melanie Starves”

The individual records are available for the June 12 flight, the June 15 flight, and the August 4 flight.

The indexed St Thomas entries attribute travel to Walker with Epstein and members of his circle. They do not prove that Walker visited Little St James. St Thomas was the region’s principal commercial airport, and additional evidence would be needed to establish her destination after landing.

A name in a flight log also does not establish participation in criminal conduct. These index entries support a travel lead and association, subject to comparison with the original logs.

Duplicate warning: the index lists “Clare Hazell Iveagh” and “Clare Hazell” separately but links both to the same person. They should not be counted as two distinct passengers. A researcher should compare the date, aircraft, departure/arrival fields, handwritten name and adjacent manifest entries before claiming a final passenger count. No inference about travel from St Thomas to Little St James follows from the airport entry alone.

Prince Andrew and Zorro Ranch

Walker had a reported social connection with Prince Andrew. A 2003 newspaper interview and later reporting describe their friendship and discussions of medicine and science. Accounts of how they met differ: some attribute an introduction to Ghislaine Maxwell, while Ward’s 2021 report gives a source’s account involving another friend and a spare Broadway ticket. Neither version should be presented here as an independently settled introduction chain.

Vanity Fair reported a source’s claim of a romantic connection during a Zorro Ranch visit around 2000. Andrew Lownie’s later account supplies additional reported allegations about that period. These accounts are not court findings, and their more intimate details should not be treated as established facts merely because they recur in later coverage.

The researcher’s priority is contemporaneous corroboration: dated travel records, ranch schedules, photographs with provenance, or directly attributable witness testimony. The 1998 St Thomas flight-index entries and the reported 2000 New Mexico visit are different events. Neither establishes participation in Epstein’s crimes.

Gates Foundation Career

Reporting places Walker’s Gates Foundation employment in the mid-2000s. Her exact start date and successive titles need contemporaneous appointment records. The foundation’s own September 2010 release identifies her as a senior program officer; later institutional biographies describe deputy-director responsibilities in special initiatives.

A released message in EFTA00652215 contains a draft communication from Walker to Gates. It references her work concerning women in science and medicine, her assignment at bgC3, and her status as a David Rockefeller Fellow.

Her foundation role gave her access to internal discussions, senior officials, and Gates himself. That access later became significant because released communications indicate that information obtained through Walker reached Epstein.

Walker eventually moved from the foundation to the World Bank. Reporting indicates that the arrangement initially involved continued compensation from the Gates Foundation while she was assigned elsewhere.

At the World Bank, Walker became a senior adviser to President Jim Yong Kim and served in a delivery focused leadership position. She later returned to work connected to Gates’s private office and bgC3.

Boris Nikolic and the Introduction to Bill Gates

Boris Nikolic was a physician, biotechnology investor, and Gates adviser. Walker reportedly introduced Nikolic to Epstein around 2009.

Nikolic subsequently helped establish direct contact between Epstein and Gates. In his 2026 congressional testimony, Gates said Nikolic was the person who introduced him directly to Epstein.

This creates an important chain:

Walker knew Epstein for approximately two decades before Gates met him. Walker introduced Nikolic to Epstein. Nikolic then introduced Epstein to Gates.

That does not prove Walker instructed Nikolic to recruit Gates into Epstein’s network. It does establish that she helped connect Epstein to a person who became the immediate bridge to Gates.

In EFTA01987426, Nikolic discussed information associated with Walker and Steven Sinofsky. The communication suggests that Walker was supplying information that might reach Gates.

In EFTA01899734, Epstein forwarded a message referencing “MEGAMEL.” Nikolic responded in EFTA01899941 by asking whether the reference meant “Mel.”

Together with other messages, these records support the identification of MEGAMEL or MEGAMELSY as Walker.

Walker as an Information Channel

Released messages show that Walker gave Epstein sensitive information about people and institutions around Gates.

In EFTA01618131, a message associated with “Melz” discusses Steven Sinofsky, Boris Nikolic, Reid Hoffman, and Greylock. The message includes personal and sexually suggestive language and uses MEGAMELSY as a self reference.

In EFTA01977118, Walker forwarded Epstein a confidential email written by Sinofsky.

The significance extends beyond isolated gossip. The records indicate that Epstein received information from inside Gates’s professional and personal network without Gates or the foundation necessarily knowing that the information was being shared.

The 2026 WilmerHale review later concluded that two employees shared sensitive information and forwarded email communications to Epstein without notifying Gates or foundation staff. The public summary did not name the employees. The summary does not identify either employee. The separately cited records document particular information-sharing episodes but do not resolve whom WilmerHale meant.

Steven Sinofsky

Steven Sinofsky was a senior Microsoft executive who led the Windows division before leaving Microsoft in 2012. Walker was his longtime partner.

Released records show Epstein receiving information about Sinofsky through Walker. They also indicate that Epstein advised or assisted Sinofsky during negotiations concerning his Microsoft departure.

Fortune’s investigation reported that Epstein helped Sinofsky obtain a settlement reportedly worth approximately $14 million after an initial request of about $20 million.

In EFTA02020616, a 2011 message associated with Walker discusses “Stevie” and an invitation to return and live upstairs.

The record therefore places Walker at the center of an unusual information triangle involving:

Person Connection
Steven Sinofsky Walker’s longtime partner and Microsoft executive
Bill Gates Walker’s employer, adviser relationship, and later reported sexual partner
Jeffrey Epstein Walker’s mentor, confidant, and recipient of confidential information
Boris Nikolic Gates adviser introduced to Epstein by Walker

This convergence gave Epstein visibility into private matters involving Microsoft, Gates, philanthropy, investment, and personal relationships.

Alternative Currencies and Jem Bendell

On September 11, 2012, Walker introduced sustainability scholar Jem Bendell to Epstein.

Bendell later published his own account, Why I Am Not on the Epstein List. He explained that the contact followed a discussion connected to the Gates Foundation and alternative currency ideas.

This introduction is relevant because it illustrates Walker functioning as an intellectual and professional connector for Epstein. The introduction alone does not establish complicity in Epstein’s crimes. In his account, Bendell says he subsequently learned of Epstein’s conviction and nevertheless sent a proposal while stipulating that Epstein could not host it. The account was first published in January 2024 and includes a February 12, 2026 update clarifying later contact.

World Bank and World Economic Forum

Walker’s position at the World Bank placed her near major global health and development initiatives.

In EFTA01613090, a 2017 communication references Walker’s years of participation at Davos and her role as senior adviser to World Bank President Jim Yong Kim.

In EFTA01617379, Walker is identified in connection with a World Economic Forum council focused on neurotechnology and brain science.

In EFTA02365490, a February 2017 record concerns a World Economic Forum neurotechnology work plan and its proposed deliverables.

In EFTA01993316, communications reference Walker’s Young Global Leader status, interest in a Wikipedia page, and interest in writing a book about the brain.

Nina Burleigh’s Nina Burleigh, Jeffrey Epstein: the Ultimate Davos Man (January 23, 2026) places Walker within Epstein’s broader cultivation of scientific protégés and World Economic Forum contacts.

These records establish that Epstein maintained contact with Walker while she occupied important institutional roles. They do not establish that the World Bank or World Economic Forum knowingly participated in Epstein’s criminal operation.

Nina Burleigh’s “Jeffrey Epstein: the Ultimate Davos Man,” January 23, 2026, connects Walker’s WEF role, her reported introduction of Jem Bendell to Epstein and her 2013 Davos attendance. Those individual relationships merit documentary scrutiny; they do not establish knowledge of, or participation in, Epstein’s crimes. Bendell’s own dated account and the WEF records remain distinct sources, not additional independent confirmations simply because Burleigh links them.

What the World Bank secondment paperwork actually says

The released files contain the administrative paperwork behind Walker’s move from the Gates Foundation to the World Bank, not just later descriptions of her title. On 15 January 2013, a message to Epstein forwarded the draft memorandum, terms of reference and conflict-of-interest annex, inviting his comments. Epstein forwarded the same package to Boris Nikolic about eighteen minutes later. Several name fields are redacted, so attribution should be made through the connected correspondence rather than describing the forms as unredacted identification. EFTA00875868, p.1; EFTA01145532, p.1.

The memorandum is dated 14 January 2013 and expressly marked “Draft” and “Confidential.” It proposes a thirty-month Senior Advisor assignment in the World Bank Institute’s Thematic Knowledge and Learning Unit, based in Washington and reporting administratively to Abha Joshi-Ghani. The Foundation would continue salary and staff benefits and cover relocation; the Bank would pay authorized official travel and related subsistence. The signature and date lines on page 3 are blank. This copy establishes proposed terms, not that every clause was executed unchanged. EFTA01145534, pp.1–3.

The accompanying terms anticipate continuing Foundation responsibilities, including monthly virtual and occasional quarterly in-person participation. Immediately afterward, an underlined sentence states: “No conflict of interest is perceived.” Its immediate context is those retained duties. It is not a retrospective finding about Epstein, a clearance of all outside activity or proof that the institutions knew about the forwarding. The listed work includes poverty eradication, delivery science, open knowledge, urban development, gender, and knowledge-sharing with the Foundation. EFTA01145539, pp.1–2.

The separate conflict annex requires attention to actual and apparent conflicts, restricts use of nonpublic Bank information for private interests and describes duties both for secondees and the Bank. Those provisions provide a framework for further reporting, not a ready-made finding that Walker violated them. A 17 January covering email forwards a letter of appointment, says an announcement is due Monday and seeks a conversation with Epstein. The enclosed Bank message still requests a signed acceptance and states that security clearance has not yet arrived. Researchers should therefore seek the executed agreement, accepted appointment and any subsequent amendments before asserting a precise final arrangement. EFTA01145537, pp.1–2; EFTA00952607, p.1.

MegaMel was also a proposed enterprise

“MegaMel” is not solely a nickname in the messages. A nine-page presentation in the files has the title MegaMel and a visually legible cover date of May 2012. It proposes a Delaware holding company called Walker Holdings, with MegaMel as an alternative label, and a Mauritius investment arm called ZuniMu, expanded as Zuniga Mundial. The investment-arm slide places operational and research arms under a CEO identified as Melanie. EFTA01147526, pp.1,3–4.

Its phase-one diagram maps bone-waste processing to Somaliland, integrated slaughterhouse-waste processing to Ethiopia, and plastics-to-polyester projects to Liberia and Zimbabwe. A final slide lists prospective management and country contacts. These are leads to a proposed business structure. They are not incorporation certificates, proof that any named person accepted a role, evidence that the projects were funded or operational, or proof of illicit financial activity. EFTA01147526, pp.5,9.

The context is a 21 May 2012 email chain in which Walker discusses winding down Foundation work and keeping personal projects separate. The thread names two attached documents, ZuniMu Ethiopia May 2012.docx and ZuniMu Somaliland May 2012.docx, and describes reluctance to email a slide deck because it contains banking material. The filenames alone do not establish the contents of the attachments. The deck, attachments and later MegaMel-fund emails should be treated as a related research cluster rather than collapsed into proof that a fund existed. EFTA01882296, pp.1–2.

A direct donor-advised-fund communication

A 16 October 2014 email supplies a particularly clear example of information reaching Epstein from Walker’s institutional correspondence. The page visibly identifies a World Bank sender address, Bill Gates and Larry Cohen as recipients, and Jeffrey Epstein on the Bcc line. Walker recommends former Bain Capital executive Mark Nunnelly as a person to consider for a donor-advised-fund venture and links a Fortune retirement article. This establishes the communication and recommendation, not that Nunnelly accepted a role, knew of the blind copy or had a relationship with Epstein. Nor does the Bcc line establish that Gates or Cohen knew Epstein received it. EFTA01748755, p.1.

A related 18 August 2014 exchange records Walker asking whether to raise the DAF and Bill Helman with Gates. Epstein recommends doing so. The same message discusses possible work with Econet and states that her secondment expires in September 2015. Those are the writer’s descriptions and plans, not independently verified execution dates or completed appointments. The visible copy contains a clipped, malformed sentence in Epstein’s reply; it should not be silently reconstructed. EFTA02588283, p.1.

Mother’s Army and the limits of initials

A July 2010 note reports that a Mother’s Army proposal was rejected, without naming who rejected it. On 10 May 2011, the email chain explicitly addressed to Walker records her asking how to explain Epstein’s willingness to let “S” keep the website and whether he would continue paying its annual costs. He agrees to pay, and she subsequently says she blind-copied him on her note. A separate note, timestamped forty-one seconds earlier, conveys that offer to “S,” but its sender and recipient fields are redacted. The matching subject matter and timing are corroboration; they should not be misdescribed as unredacted identification. EFTA02410851, p.1; EFTA01869546, p.1; EFTA00910476, p.1.

An August 2011 administrative message copied to the Duchess of York lists six Mother’s Army domain variants and asks which should be transferred. This gives the domain project a documented royal connection. It does not establish completed transfer by itself, and the initials “A,” “S” and “J” in the May note must not be expanded solely by assumption. The unanswered questions concern the project’s actual governance, financing, ownership and outcome, not an inferred criminal purpose. EFTA02324042, p.1.

The 2014 Warning to Gates

According to Wall Street Journal reporting and the later congressional examination of Gates, Walker warned Gates in August 2014 to maintain a healthy distance from Epstein in personal matters.

The reported warning described Epstein as someone who surrounded himself with unusually attractive people, identified weaknesses or proclivities, and had produced damaging consequences for powerful individuals.

This warning is important for several reasons.

First, Walker had known Epstein far longer than Gates had.

Second, the reported language suggests that she understood Epstein’s ability to exploit personal vulnerabilities.

Third, the warning reportedly concerned personal exposure rather than simply Epstein’s publicly known 2008 conviction.

Gates testified that he did not remember receiving the warning. The public record reviewed for this article does not include a confirmed EFTA page containing the complete original email. The description therefore remains based on reporting and congressional questioning, not a directly linked primary document.

Gates, bgC3, and Walker’s 2017 Departure

Walker later worked as an adviser connected to Gates’s private office and bgC3, focusing on neurotechnology and brain science.

In EFTA01617415, a message associated with Walker states that Bill wanted her to return and work for him for a period.

In EFTA01613044, an April 2017 message discusses settling matters involving Walker. An attached file is identified as an independent contractor agreement containing a nondisclosure provision between Walker and bgC3.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Walker’s relationship with Gates became sexual during the summer of 2017. A Gates spokesperson described the relationship as consensual and said it ended amicably. The spokesperson also disputed the characterization that Gates engaged in an improper relationship with a foundation or Gates Ventures employee.

Walker has not publicly provided a detailed personal account of the relationship.

This reported relationship provides context for the anxiety visible in Walker’s September 2017 messages with Epstein. It does not independently prove that Gates threatened or retaliated against her.

September 2017 Leverage Messages

The September 2017 exchange is among the most significant documentary sequences involving Walker.

The sequence appears across EFTA01620736, EFTA01620737, EFTA01620738, EFTA01620739, EFTA01620740, EFTA01620741, and EFTA01620742.

Walker asked Epstein what signals or words she should use in communications involving Larry and Bill Gates. Epstein suggested that, with Gates, she could say that she had told Jeffrey “everything.”

Walker replied that she feared Gates would retaliate against her.

The exchange also included a reference to blue dresses. During his congressional testimony, Gates said he had not seen the messages until after their public release. He interpreted the blue dress language as a possible reference to Monica Lewinsky but did not claim certain knowledge of its meaning.

Members of Congress asked whether Epstein was helping Walker create leverage over Gates and whether the messages could be interpreted as laying the foundation for blackmail. Gates agreed that this was possible but emphasized that he was speculating.

The record establishes that Epstein advised Walker to invoke her disclosure of information to him. It does not establish that Walker actually delivered the suggested message, demanded money, or completed an extortion attempt.

Walker’s Reported Relationship With Gates

The sexual relationship reported by the Wall Street Journal should be handled with precision.

The available reporting states that the relationship occurred during 2017 when Walker was working under a short term consulting arrangement connected to Gates’s private office. Gates’s representative described it as consensual.

The record does not establish:

  1. That the relationship was connected to Epstein’s trafficking operation.
  2. That Walker acted on Epstein’s behalf when entering the relationship.
  3. That Gates paid Walker to conceal it.
  4. That Walker successfully blackmailed Gates.
  5. That Epstein obtained money from Gates by threatening disclosure of the relationship.

The relationship is nevertheless relevant because Epstein’s messages appeared to encourage Walker to use his knowledge as leverage while her work with Gates was ending.

Scientific Proposals Sent to Epstein

EFTA00956869 is a two-page email forwarded to Epstein on November 13, 2017 at 06:11 UTC. It carries a November 12 message addressed to Bill Gates and copied to Larry Cohen, Boris Nikolic, Tony Pan, Philip Eckhoff and Lowell Wood. The produced sender fields are redacted; attribution of the proposal to Walker depends on the surrounding record rather than an unredacted sender header on these pages.

The message proposes an organelle-transplantation research venture, starting with transplantation of mitochondria into ischemic brain tissue. Page 2, paragraph 5, asks Gates for $6 million for an initial two-to-three-year phase. The writer proposes a Seattle base with experiments at other institutions and asks for confidentiality while intellectual property is developed. The attached presentation is not included in these two pages.

This is evidence of a funding request addressed to Gates and subsequently forwarded to Epstein, not a request that proves Epstein was the intended funder. It establishes neither an award nor proven therapeutic efficacy, institutional approval, patient enrollment or completed experiments. The exact author and forwarding chain should be checked against related copies before assigning every role.

In EFTA00680010, Walker appears in a thread involving Gates and Casey Tegreene concerning an endovascular-neurosurgery fellowship. Scientific correspondence and legitimate professional training must not be collapsed into evidence of unlawful research simply because Epstein received a copy.

2017 Policy, Neurotechnology and Institutional Access

Two message exports show discussion of policy and institutional access beyond the earlier Gates-personal-dispute narrative. In EFTA01617415, a January 4–14, 2017 thread, page 2 discusses a proposed role involving the White House BRAIN Initiative; page 3 discusses returning to work for Gates and a WEF neurotechnology-council dinner. These are messages about possibilities and invitations, not proof of a White House appointment, an implemented government program or anyone’s actual attendance.

In EFTA01617493, a seven-page February 18, 2017 exchange, the contact attributed to Walker raises a cyber-security idea and retaining PEPFAR, the U.S. international HIV/AIDS program. Pages 2–5 contain the relevant policy discussion. Epstein presents himself as knowledgeable about Donald Trump’s priorities and as able to convey ideas; the record does not establish that Trump authorized him, received the proposal, or agreed to any arrangement.

Page 3 (Bates EFTA01617495) contains the PEPFAR clarification. Pages 4–5 discuss taxation and the treatment of foundations and foreign grants. Those statements are the correspondents’ opinions or allegations, not findings that a foundation violated tax law. The exchange is significant as evidence of what Epstein and the attributed contact discussed, not as proof of the access he claimed.

WIRED’s November 13, 2025 report independently examined the exchange and explained its identification of Walker from the wider thread. Its reporting is useful for attribution; the released pages remain the evidence for the words and dates. Parallel raw-message and House productions should be compared as alternate presentations, not counted as independent witnesses.

A Scientist List, Not a Telemetry Record

EFTA02411848 is a two-page document headed “LIST OF SCIENTISTS.” Walker appears on page 2, Bates EFTA02411849, with other contact details heavily redacted. The inspected pages do not display a sender or a date.

This file does not contain the clinical-wearables or remote-telemetry passage previously attributed to it. It therefore cannot support that claim. A name on a scientist list establishes inclusion in that document, not the list’s purpose, consent to inclusion, funding, participation in a project or medical misconduct. The provenance and intended use of the list remain questions for further evidence.

Continued Contact Through 2019

The relationship did not end after Epstein’s 2008 conviction or after Walker’s reported 2014 warning to Gates.

The redacted message export EFTA01613326, attributed to Walker and Epstein, continues through at least March 17, 2019. This extends the earlier February 13 cutoff, but does not establish the date of their final-ever communication.

Messages from 2011 include Walker using “Pumpkin” as an affectionate name for Epstein. Examples appear in EFTA02031985 and EFTA01990127.

Affectionate communication complicates the public account but does not resolve whether coercion existed. Survivors can maintain contact with abusive or controlling people because of fear, dependency, trauma, professional entanglement, affection, or conflicting loyalties.

At the same time, survivor centered analysis does not require ignoring Walker’s agency. The records indicate that she shared information, sought advice, and facilitated introductions. Those actions should be examined on their own evidence without treating them as proof that she participated in Epstein’s sexual crimes.

The August 2018 Message Export

EFTA01620824 is an eight-page redacted iMessage export covering August 13–28, 2018. The attribution to Walker rests on the medical and institutional context and continuity with other attributed exchanges; the redacted contact boxes themselves do not visibly spell out her name.

Pages 1–2 discuss angiography, medical imagery as art and teaching; page 5 concerns Seattle and an imminent surgical procedure; pages 6–8 turn to time perception and plants. The thread documents continuing familiarity and technical discussion. It does not establish that Epstein participated in treatment, was physically present at a hospital, or received identifiable patient material unlawfully.

Images, medical references and an offer to communicate are not substitutes for consent, de-identification or institutional records. Researchers should avoid identifying patients or reproducing private numbers from the export. The appropriate next evidence would be the original attachments, their metadata and any applicable approval or image-use documentation, not speculation about patients.

See the separate EFTA01620824 document article for the detailed thread guide. That article and this profile describe the same evidence; they are not independent corroboration.

February–March 2019: Reporting, Medicine and an AI Idea

EFTA01613326 contains twelve pages dated February 18–March 17, 2019. It materially extends the direct-contact chronology beyond the earlier profile’s February 13 cutoff. The name of the other participant is redacted; the Walker attribution relies on the occupational and conversational context, not an unredacted name on every page.

The thread combines medical work, conference and institutional references, press coverage and a speculative artificial-intelligence idea. Page 6 (Bates EFTA01613331), dated March 4, includes an AI-generated placebo idea and a discussion about not giving a Yahoo story attention. Page 7 links the press discussion to a Jim Kim story and mentions a Medtronic keynote. Page 8 contains March 5 messages about press attention concerning Epstein and Acosta. Pages 11–12 carry the March 17 continuation of an AI “answer giver” discussion.

These passages establish discussion and reactions, not that the correspondents successfully suppressed reporting, created a working AI system, misled patients or implemented an experiment. A stated invitation or future keynote is also not proof that the event occurred.

An earlier, separate record, EFTA02627797, is a January 23, 2019 forward to Epstein of a Yahoo reporter’s inquiry addressed to Dr. Walker. The quoted January 18 and January 22 emails identify Alexander Nazaryan and concern Jim Yong Kim’s World Bank tenure. The reporter said he had received correspondence referring to Walker and an ethics committee. That is a description of a reporter’s inquiry, not an ethics finding. The outer forwarder is redacted and should not be identified as Walker without further evidence. The record is contextual to the later Yahoo discussion, not proof that every reference concerns the same exact unpublished story.

See the EFTA01613326 document article for a longer reading. March 17 is the latest direct exchange examined for this edition, not a proven final contact before Epstein’s death.

June 2019: A Third-Party Mention, Not Proven Contact

On June 17, 2019, Epstein named Walker in a list of possible experts during a production-planning conversation. Ellie Leonard’s November 27, 2025 transcription surfaced the passage. The House release at HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_027804, PDF page 11, supplies Epstein’s sender header and the June 17 timestamp; HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_027805, PDF page 12, begins the list with Walker, described as a brain surgeon.

The preceding June 15 exchange at HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_027796, PDF page 3, concerns finding subject-matter experts before setting a shooting schedule. Leonard labels the counterpart Bannon; that participant’s identity is redacted in this export. The record reviewed here does not show that Walker was contacted, agreed to participate, was filmed or knew the project’s purpose. It extends the chronology of mentions, not verified direct contact with Walker.

Walker’s Attorney and Survivor Status

Attorney David Fleissig told the Wall Street Journal that Walker was a survivor of Jeffrey Epstein and had endured a coercive relationship that lasted decades and ended only with his death.

According to the Journal, Walker’s attorney sought redaction of her name from government records. The request was reportedly connected to Epstein introducing Walker to two professional contacts who later sexually propositioned her.

The Journal reported that Walker did not allege Epstein personally sexually assaulted her and did not submit a compensation claim against Epstein’s estate.

These details do not disprove victimization. Coercive control does not require a specific sexual assault allegation, and participation in a compensation program is not a prerequisite for survivor status.

The available public record does not disclose the complete evidence supporting the attorney’s characterization. For that reason, EpsteinWiki should attribute the claim to Walker’s counsel rather than state it as an adjudicated finding.

Bill Gates’s 2026 Congressional Testimony

The House Oversight transcript of Gates’s testimony provides one of the most important official discussions of Walker’s role.

Gates testified that:

Subject Gates’s testimony
Initial introduction Boris Nikolic introduced him directly to Epstein
Walker’s Epstein relationship He did not initially know the full extent of it
First Epstein meeting Walker contacted Gates afterward and asked for his impression
Warning about young women Gates said Walker did not warn him about teenage girls or young women
Information sharing Released records make it appear that Epstein received information about Gates through Walker
Authorization Gates said he did not know Walker was supplying Epstein with information
September 2017 messages Gates said he first saw them after the document releases
Blue dress reference Gates believed it might refer to Monica Lewinsky but did not know
Possible blackmail planning Gates said it was possible Epstein was encouraging future leverage, while making clear that this was speculation
Direct extortion Gates said Epstein never sent him a direct blackmail demand
Payment Gates said he never paid Epstein
Contact with Walker Gates said he remained on cordial terms with Walker through approximately 2020

The testimony establishes Gates’s account. It does not settle every factual dispute because Gates repeatedly stated that he did not remember certain communications and lacked knowledge of what Walker told Epstein.

Read the answer, not just the question. In the June 10, 2026 official interview, printed pages 42–44 identify the September 2017 exhibit and preserve the staff’s attribution limitation. Pages 59–60 distinguish Gates’s denial that Walker was his route to Epstein from his acknowledgment that released messages appear to show information sharing. Assertions put by a questioner on pages 61–63 are not automatically Gates’s admissions.

On printed pages 108–110, Gates discusses continued friendly contact with Walker through 2020 and the possibility of intended leverage. He also says Epstein never blackmailed him and that the threatening messages being discussed were not sent to him. A proposal to invoke Epstein’s knowledge must therefore not be reported as a completed blackmail demand, a successful payment or a judicial finding.

WilmerHale Review

In July 2026, the Gates Foundation released a three page WilmerHale summary examining the foundation’s engagement with Epstein.

WilmerHale conducted more than 50 interviews and reviewed extensive foundation records.

The review found:

Finding Result
Foundation payments to Epstein No evidence found
Foundation knowledge of Epstein’s ongoing crimes No evidence found
Foundation participation in Epstein’s crimes No evidence found
Meetings involving Epstein Roughly 30 meetings with ten foundation leaders and staff from 2011 through 2014
Main subjects Donor advised fund, donor engagement, polio strategy, and the International Peace Institute
Sensitive information Two employees shared sensitive information and forwarded communications to Epstein without notifying Gates or foundation staff
Foundation policy The sharing of sensitive information violated policy
Awareness of conviction Gates and foundation personnel knew of reputational concerns connected to Epstein’s prior conviction
Donor advised fund Foundation stopped work after a December 2014 breakfast exposed misrepresentations about prospective donors’ knowledge and willingness to commit

The foundation’s official announcement accompanied governance changes involving vetting, risk escalation, confidential records, conflicts of interest, and employees holding roles across multiple Gates organizations.

The review has important limitations. It focused on foundation interactions. WilmerHale stated that it did not have access to Gates’s personal communications and did not review his private dealings with Epstein or records belonging to Gates Ventures, the Gates Foundation Trust, or other separate entities.

The public received an executive summary, not the complete investigative report.

Document Corpus and Counting

This edition brings together the existing profile’s source inventory, additional released documents and message exports, institutional biographies, the June 2026 Gates interview, the July 2026 foundation-review summary, and a bounded check of relevant independent reporting. It is not a census of the entire federal release or a claim that every Walker-related page has been inspected.

Counts on different research platforms are not comparable without their definitions. One may count a multi-page export once, another every Bates page, another every message, and another every name or handle match. Repeated productions, forwarded chains, quoted replies and alternate exports can all multiply a single underlying event.

For a reproducible inventory, record the release set, document ID, full Bates range, file page, printed page, visible date and timezone if present, sender/recipient evidence, redaction state, and whether the item is a unique event or a duplicate. Keep the original scan separate from OCR and from editorial identification. A search result is a discovery aid, not confirmation.

The Democracy Defenders Fund’s September 2026 submission identifies perceived gaps between FOIA productions and the federal library while acknowledging search and OCR limitations. Its submission supports caution about completeness, not an inference that any particular missing Walker record exists or was deliberately concealed.

Version caution: the research reader flags some files used here, including EFTA01613326, EFTA01618131 and EFTA01748755, as “ALTERED AFTER RELEASE.” This edition inspected the currently available versions; it did not independently compare the earlier federal copies. The flag alone does not establish what changed, who changed it, or an improper motive. Preserve both versions and compare visible redactions, page order, attachments and file hashes before explaining a difference. OCR can miss a clearly visible date, as the MegaMel cover demonstrates.

Document-Level Guide for Further Digging

These entries prioritize records added or rechecked for this edition. File-page numbers start at 1; a Bates number identifies the stamped page. Use the complete file and surrounding messages, not an isolated screenshot. Where a name is redacted, retain the attribution qualification even when the identification is strong.

Identity and 2014 continuity

EFTA01618131 · Four pages · June 23–30, 2014. Page 1 discusses describing advisory work for Epstein’s brain foundation in a WEF context. Page 4, Bates EFTA01618134, contains the MEGAMELSY self-label. This corrects the earlier “2011 era” inventory date. Compare with named email cross-references such as EFTA01899734 and EFTA01899941 rather than treating the identifier as self-authenticating across every file.

January and February 2017 proposals

EFTA01617415 · Four pages · January 4–14, 2017. Start with pages 2–3 for the BRAIN Initiative proposal and Gates/WEF discussion. EFTA01617493 · Seven pages · February 18, 2017. Start with pages 2–5 for cyber-security, PEPFAR and foundation-tax discussion. A separate raw-message production at EFTA01208885 includes overlapping February 18 material; compare timestamps and text before counting it as a second event.

September 2017 Gates exhibit

EFTA01620736–EFTA01620742 · Seven-page exhibit identified in the Gates interview. The official interview, printed pages 42–43, places the “told Jeffrey everything,” retaliation and blue-dress exchanges on Bates EFTA01620742. The previous profile’s separate summaries assigned several of these passages to other pages; those unsupported assignments have been consolidated. Obtain the source export and preceding/following thread before reconstructing who said what, and retain the House staff’s explicit redaction caveat.

August 2018 medical and personal discussion

EFTA01620824 · Eight pages · August 13–28, 2018. Pages 1–2: imagery and teaching. Page 5: Seattle/surgery context. Pages 6–8: time perception. The wider export and original attachments are needed before making claims about image provenance, permissions, patient identity or implementation of a research idea.

2019 press inquiry and later messages

EFTA02627797 · Two pages · January 23 forward containing January 18 and 22 inquiry emails. Named reporter, redacted outer forwarder. EFTA01613326 · Twelve pages · February 18–March 17, 2019. Pages 6–8: AI idea and reporting discussion; pages 11–12: March 17 continuation. Keep the distinction between a reporter asking questions, a correspondent describing coverage, and an actual published finding.

June 2019 production-planning mention

HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_027794–027847 · See PDF page 3 for the June 15 planning context, pages 11–12 for the June 17 sender header and Walker entry. The record is evidence that Epstein proposed a name, not that the named person participated.

Secondment, business proposals and the DAF: scan-checked file map

Document mirrors and indexes aid access; they are not independent authentication of the underlying communications. Compare the original production when provenance or later modification is material. Full-resolution embedded images may omit an overlaid Bates stamp, so the associated PDF remains important for production-level citation.

How to Use Independent Reporting Without Losing the Evidence

Relevant sleuth work is part of this profile’s discovery trail. Burleigh’s January 2026 Davos article supplies a focused institutional-network lead; Leonard’s November 2025 transcription supplies the June 2019 production-planning lead. Each is linked above to the specific article, and the primary evidence is distinguished from the author’s interpretation.

Transcription labels need checking. Some passages in Leonard’s wider 2017 and 2019 collections label a speaker “SB” where surrounding text or other records point to another correspondent. This edition does not inherit those labels as primary authentication. Likewise, a secondary article’s shorthand that Walker introduced Gates to Epstein must not erase the more precise Nikolic chain described in Gates’s testimony.

Rye Howard-Stone’s research wiki and pseudonym registry are useful maps to documents. The wiki discloses AI assistance. Its summaries and counts require checking against scans; they are not findings simply because they aggregate many IDs. For example, the May 2012 date on the MegaMel proposal cover is more precise than an index’s description of a May document with no year.

The public written archives checked also included Lisa Tait’s current Jeffrey Epstein Focus, Bekah Day, Julie K. Brown, Greg Conners, Butterfly Bureau and RHowardStone’s Substack. No additional primary-supported Walker finding was established from those archive searches. Brown’s June 11, 2026 discussion with Vicky Ward provides relevant attributed reporting on counsel’s account. Butterfly Bureau’s Walker roundups largely repeat the same Wall Street Journal story and should not be counted as independent corroboration.

This is a bounded public-text check, not a claim to have reviewed every paid post, livestream, social video, image-only archive or later update. Search results for Melanie Stansbury, Melania Trump or unrelated people named Walker must not be merged into this subject’s record.

What the Evidence Establishes

The available evidence establishes that Walker knew Epstein for almost three decades.

It establishes that Walker said Trump introduced them.

Three database-indexed flights in 1998 are attributed to Walker, including two involving St Thomas. The underlying handwritten manifests still need line-by-line reconciliation with the index.

The reviewed message exports support continued contact after Epstein’s 2008 conviction and through at least March 17, 2019, subject to the redacted-contact attribution described below.

It establishes that Walker gave Epstein confidential or sensitive information concerning influential people in Gates’s network.

It establishes that she sought Epstein’s advice during the end of her 2017 work relationship with Gates.

It establishes that Epstein advised her to tell Gates that she had disclosed everything to Epstein.

It establishes that Epstein received a forwarded neuroscience funding request addressed to Gates, attributed to Walker in the surrounding record.

It establishes that Walker helped connect Epstein to scientists and professional contacts.

It establishes that her career gave her access to the Gates Foundation, Gates’s private office, the World Bank, the World Economic Forum, Microsoft related figures, medical research, and Prince Andrew.

It also establishes that Walker’s attorney describes her as a survivor of a coercive relationship with Epstein.

What the Evidence Does Not Establish

The evidence does not establish that Walker participated in Epstein’s sex trafficking operation.

It does not establish that she recruited girls or women for Epstein.

It does not establish that she sexually abused anyone.

It does not establish that she knew the complete nature or scale of Epstein’s crimes.

It does not establish that she visited Little St James merely because she flew to St Thomas.

It does not establish that Epstein funded the Modern Neuron proposal.

It does not establish that the scientific proposals were funded, approved or implemented.

It does not establish that she blackmailed Gates or received money through extortion.

It does not establish that the Gates Foundation, World Bank, World Economic Forum, or University of Washington knowingly participated in Epstein’s crimes.

It does not establish that affectionate messages negate coercion or victimization.

Survivor Centered Assessment

Walker’s documented conduct does not fit neatly into a single category.

She may have been harmed by Epstein while also helping him gain access to influential people. She may have relied on him while also supplying information that increased his leverage. She may have experienced coercion while still making decisions that deserve scrutiny.

Survivor centered reporting should avoid the false assumption that every survivor immediately leaves, cuts off communication, rejects assistance, or behaves consistently. Long relationships involving mentorship and dependency can produce loyalty, fear, gratitude, shame, ambition, and resistance simultaneously.

The same standard requires care for Epstein’s other survivors. Walker’s reported survivor status should not be used to excuse conduct that might have strengthened Epstein’s access to institutions or private information.

The fairest conclusion is that Walker occupied a complex position within Epstein’s network. The released evidence depicts her as a reported survivor, confidant, beneficiary of mentorship, professional connector, and source of sensitive information. It does not depict her as a proven participant in Epstein’s sexual crimes.

Investigative Significance

Walker matters to the Epstein investigation because she connected several parts of his network that are often studied separately.

Her story links Epstein’s early 1990s social circle to medical education, Prince Andrew, Gates, Microsoft, biotechnology, global health, the World Bank, the World Economic Forum, and neuroscience.

Her communications also demonstrate how Epstein accumulated power. He did not rely only on wealth. He cultivated people over many years, encouraged dependency, gathered information, brokered introductions, and inserted himself into private disputes.

The September 2017 messages are particularly significant because they show Epstein advising a close associate on how his possession of information could be communicated to Gates. Whether or not that became a completed blackmail effort, the exchange illustrates the potential value Epstein placed on confidential knowledge.

Questions Requiring Further Investigation

The following priorities identify what would move a lead into a firmer conclusion. They are questions, not insinuations that a missing document necessarily exists or that an unanswered question proves misconduct.

  1. Establish the correspondence chain. Obtain complete device-export metadata and contact histories for the redacted 2017–2019 threads. Compare named emails, timestamps, sender/self fields, quoted replies and distinctive institutional details. Resolve disagreements between OCR, contact labels and secondary transcriptions before assigning a passage to Walker.
  2. Separate duplicates from distinct events. Build a Bates-level inventory of the multi-page iMessage exports, raw-message versions and House productions. Match identical text and timestamps; record differences and redactions rather than counting every reproduction as new corroboration.
  3. Determine whether proposals were executed. For MegaMel/ZuniMu and the Modern Neuron proposal, seek final agreements, incorporation or registration records, bank or grant records, institutional acceptance, budgets and deliverables. For clinical work, distinguish preclinical concepts, approved protocols and actual patient enrollment. A deck, a requested amount or an encouraging reply is not a transfer or an experiment.
  4. Reconstruct the World Bank arrangement. Obtain the executed secondment agreement, amendments, exact term, payor, reporting line, leave/return arrangements and completed conflict disclosures. Compare those records with contemporaneous Foundation and World Bank policies. A clause requiring disclosure is not proof that a conflict occurred or that a disclosure was omitted.
  5. Trace actual information flows. For confidential Sinofsky or Gates-related messages, identify the original sender, intended recipients, forwarding step and whether the recipient actually acted on the information. For the donor-advised-fund thread, distinguish being copied from directing the proposal or receiving money. Do not name WilmerHale’s two employees as an express finding when its public summary does not identify them.
  6. Test the 2017 leverage hypothesis against delivery evidence. Obtain any final message sent to Gates, its headers, a response and any relevant contract/payment records. The reviewed exchange shows advice and discussion; Gates’s testimony denies a completed blackmail demand to him. The full original 2014 warning email would also be stronger evidence than quotations in later reporting.
  7. Corroborate early housing and travel. Distinguish address listings, temporary stays and continuous residence using contemporaneous lease, billing or credible witness records, without publishing private addresses unnecessarily. Reconcile the three indexed flights against handwritten manifests and duplicate passenger identities. Separate St Thomas airport arrival from any subsequent destination.
  8. Resolve the later timeline. Search after March 17, 2019 using the documented name variants and export boundaries, while treating the June 17 expert-list entry as a third-party mention. Do not assume that an adjacent Bates number belongs to the same correspondent or that a search returns the last surviving contact.
  9. Preserve the distinction between allegations and findings. For the January 2019 World Bank-related inquiry, obtain the underlying correspondence, institutional response and any actual ethics determination before stating that there was a violation. For counsel’s coercion/redaction account, seek an attributable public explanation or court filing rather than attempting to expose protected survivor information.
  10. Document unresolved institutional chronology. Exact Gates Foundation start/end dates, bgC3 contracts, WHO appointment dates and the term of historical WEF, Rockefeller or AMA roles remain useful targets. Do not treat the Foundation, Gates’s private office, Gates Ventures and the World Bank as one employer or one pool of records.

Additional located leads, not verified findings: EFTA02381427 has been identified in secondary research as a March 2017 bgC3 scope/deliverables record; EFTA02379094 as a May 2017 Caleb Harper introduction; EFTA00968485 as an August 2013 Dean Kamen/World Bank introduction; and EFTA02375949 and EFTA01052082 as March 2017 brain-fund discussion. Inspect the actual files and sender/attachment context before using those descriptions as article facts.
