Sleuth Report: The Paolo Zampolli Timeline and Epstein Network Connections

Paolo Zampolli moved through several influential worlds during his career. These included international modeling, New York society, luxury real estate, United Nations diplomacy, and Donald Trump’s political circle.

A timeline published by Epstein Cover Up argues that these roles repeatedly placed Zampolli near people and institutions connected to Jeffrey Epstein.

The public record establishes several direct connections. Zampolli operated a modeling agency used by Epstein, introduced at least one model to him, discussed acquiring Elite Model Management with him, appeared in released Epstein records, and communicated with Ghislaine Maxwell.

However, these connections do not establish that Zampolli participated in Epstein’s crimes. Zampolli has not been charged with an Epstein related offense and has denied having a close relationship with Epstein.

This report separates documented evidence from allegations and interpretation.

From Milan to the Modeling Industry

Zampolli was born in Milan in 1970. He has described Elite Model Management founder John Casablancas as an early mentor.

Casablancas built an international scouting operation that brought teenage models from different countries into the United States and European fashion markets. Investigations of Elite’s culture later documented relationships between powerful adult men and teenage models.

Zampolli organized Elite’s 1994 Look of the Year competition in Ibiza. The finalists included Gisele Bündchen and Natalia Semanova, both fourteen at the time.

He later moved to New York and became a partner in Metropolitan Models. By the late 1990s, he had established his own agency, ID Model Management.

This history matters because modeling agencies offered access to young women who were frequently living away from their families. Some depended on agencies for visas, housing, transportation, employment, and social introductions.

That vulnerability became important in the wider Epstein investigation. Epstein and Jean Luc Brunel used modeling contacts to meet girls and young women. More information about that system appears in the EpsteinWiki report on the recruitment, movement, control, and exit pipeline.

Melania Knauss and Donald Trump

Zampolli has said that he met Melania Knauss while scouting models in Milan. His agency helped bring her to New York in 1996.

He also takes credit for introducing Melania to Donald Trump at a Fashion Week party at the Kit Kat Club in September 1998. Contemporary accounts generally place their first meeting at that event.

Amanda Ungaro, Zampolli’s former partner, has disputed parts of the familiar account. She described the relationship between Trump and Melania as a mutually beneficial arrangement. Melania and Zampolli have rejected that characterization.

A released FBI interview contains another disputed account. The witness reportedly claimed that Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. That statement appears in EFTA00105195.

The document records what a witness told investigators. It does not independently prove the claim. Zampolli has denied that Epstein arranged the introduction, and no public adjudication has resolved the competing versions.

The responsible conclusion is narrow. Zampolli was central to Melania’s New York modeling career and was present in the social environment where she met Trump. Claims assigning Epstein a role in the introduction remain disputed.

ID Models and Jeffrey Epstein

The clearest Epstein connection involves ID Model Management.

An FBI proffer records statements from model Adriana Mucinska. According to the interview, Epstein saw a topless photograph of Mucinska at ID Models, after which Zampolli introduced her to him. The relevant record is EFTA00105195.

The same record reportedly refers to Epstein finding a woman during an ID Models casting. The document uses a spelling resembling “Zempoli,” which investigators and reporters have interpreted as a reference to Zampolli.

These statements are significant because they describe more than attendance at the same party. They place Epstein inside the agency’s modeling environment and identify Zampolli as an intermediary in at least one introduction.

Even so, the document is a witness account. It does not establish that Zampolli knew about Epstein’s abuse or intended to facilitate it.

The broader relationship between Epstein and modeling agencies is examined in the EpsteinWiki report on Epstein’s access to ID Models, Trump Models, FashionTV, and Elite Models.

The Attempt to Purchase Elite Model Management

In 2004, Elite Model Management’s New York operation entered bankruptcy proceedings.

Zampolli and Epstein reportedly discussed or submitted a joint bid to acquire the agency. Their effort was unsuccessful.

This business proposal is one of the strongest indicators that the two men had more than a passing social acquaintance. Buying Elite would have given them control of a major international modeling organization with an established scouting network.

The failed transaction does not prove a criminal purpose. It does show that Epstein and Zampolli considered a substantial business venture together.

That distinction is essential. A documented business relationship is evidence of association. It is not, by itself, proof of participation in Epstein’s trafficking operation.

Epstein’s Warning About Zampolli

A 2011 email shows Epstein warning another contact about Zampolli.

Epstein wrote, “Be careful, zampoli is trouble. Lots.” He added that Zampolli sold stories to the press. The message appears in EFTA02535652.

The exchange suggests mistrust rather than friendship. It also confirms that Epstein knew Zampolli well enough to offer a personal warning about him.

Zampolli has used the limited number of references to him in the released files to argue that he was not close to Epstein. The warning supports the possibility of a strained relationship. However, it does not erase the documented modeling introduction or the proposed Elite acquisition.

The evidence therefore points to a relationship that may have been practical, competitive, or distrustful rather than intimate.

Amanda Ungaro’s Flight on Epstein’s Aircraft

Amanda Ungaro was a teenage Brazilian model when she traveled from Paris to New York in 2002.

Ungaro has said she was seventeen. She reportedly flew on Epstein’s aircraft with Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, Sarah Kellen, Jean Luc Brunel, and several models. She later entered a long relationship with Zampolli.

Her account places her inside the same modeling network that connected Brunel, Epstein, and Zampolli. It does not establish that Zampolli arranged that particular flight.

The available evidence should therefore be described carefully. Ungaro traveled within Epstein and Brunel’s modeling network before becoming Zampolli’s client and partner. That sequence is documented. Claims that Zampolli knowingly trafficked her require further evidence.

Ungaro has made separate allegations of domestic abuse against Zampolli. Those allegations remain allegations unless supported by a judicial finding. Zampolli has disputed significant parts of her account.

Ghislaine Maxwell and TerraMar

Emails published by journalist Bekah Day show communications between Zampolli and Ghislaine Maxwell concerning the TerraMar Project.

Maxwell created TerraMar in 2012 as an ocean conservation organization focused on international waters. The organization closed after Epstein’s July 2019 arrest.

According to the published communications, Zampolli registered as a TerraMar “citizen,” described the project as intriguing, and offered to act as its permanent representative at the United Nations.

One message attributed to Zampolli stated that he knew a company capable of producing “real passports” for multiple countries.

The emails are important because Zampolli has publicly minimized or denied knowing Maxwell. If authentic and complete, they demonstrate direct communication and an offer to assist her organization.

However, the emails were published from an archive supplied by Ungaro rather than identified as part of the public DOJ production. They should be treated as externally published evidence that warrants independent authentication.

The correspondence is reviewed in Skeletons in the Diplomatic Closet.

Other Epstein Network Overlaps

The timeline identifies additional people who appeared in both Zampolli’s social world and Epstein’s records.

Irina Chernova appeared in footage from Zampolli’s fortieth birthday celebration. Released emails connect Chernova to introductions of young women to Epstein. One relevant record is EFTA02409353.

Zampolli’s Haute Living column also featured psychiatrist and financier Henry Jarecki. Jarecki had a documented relationship with Epstein and has faced civil allegations from an Epstein survivor. Jarecki has denied wrongdoing.

Michel Adam Lisowski, the founder of FashionTV, was another Zampolli associate. Lisowski lived in the same Paris building where Epstein later maintained a residence. French courts convicted Lisowski of sexual assault in an unrelated case.

These overlaps help researchers map a social environment. They do not establish collective criminal responsibility. Each person’s conduct must be evaluated through evidence specific to that person.

A wider assessment is available in the EpsteinWiki report on Paolo Zampolli’s evidence links and network connections.

United Nations and Diplomatic Reinvention

After leaving full time modeling work, Zampolli developed a public identity based on environmental advocacy and international diplomacy.

He held roles connected to renewable energy initiatives and later represented Dominica at the United Nations. He also promoted ocean conservation projects and cultivated relationships with diplomats, business leaders, and celebrities.

Donald Trump appointed Zampolli to the Kennedy Center Board of Trustees in 2020.

During Trump’s second administration, Zampolli received a role connected to global partnerships. His renewed access to political power has increased scrutiny of his earlier modeling and Epstein connections.

A political appointment does not validate allegations about his past. It does make transparency more important because a government representative may obtain access to officials, commercial negotiations, diplomatic institutions, and sensitive international relationships.

Allegations Outside the Epstein Case

The timeline includes allegations that are separate from the Epstein investigation.

Ungaro has accused Zampolli of domestic violence. Another woman, Victoria Clarke, alleged that Zampolli drugged and raped her after a United Nations event in 2023.

These are serious allegations. They have not been established as criminal convictions in the sources reviewed for this report.

Their inclusion in a timeline does not make them proven. They should remain attributed to the people who made them, along with the status of any police report, lawsuit, denial, or court proceeding.

Zampolli has not been charged with participating in Epstein’s crimes.

What the Evidence Establishes

The public record supports several conclusions.

  1. Zampolli operated ID Model Management, an agency that Epstein accessed.
  2. A witness told federal investigators that Zampolli introduced model Adriana Mucinska to Epstein.
  3. Epstein and Zampolli considered acquiring Elite Model Management together in 2004.
  4. Epstein discussed Zampolli in a 2011 email and warned another contact that he was trouble.
  5. Ungaro traveled on Epstein’s aircraft before becoming Zampolli’s client and partner.
  6. Published emails indicate direct communication between Zampolli and Maxwell about TerraMar.
  7. Zampolli maintained relationships with several people who also appeared in Epstein’s social and business network.
  8. Zampolli later gained diplomatic and political access through United Nations roles, the Kennedy Center, and the Trump administration.

What the Evidence Does Not Establish

The reviewed evidence does not prove that Zampolli participated in Epstein’s sexual abuse or trafficking operation.

It does not prove that he knew why Epstein sought access to models.

It does not conclusively establish who introduced Melania to Trump.

It does not establish that every person appearing with Zampolli knew Epstein or knew about Epstein’s crimes.

It also does not independently authenticate every email or allegation published by journalists, former partners, or online investigators.

Those limits should remain visible in any responsible account.

Key Takeaways

Zampolli’s importance comes from his function as a connector.

He connected international models with New York agencies. He connected Melania Knauss with Trump’s social circle. He introduced at least one model to Epstein, according to an FBI interview. He explored a modeling agency acquisition with Epstein. He later connected fashion, business, diplomacy, and political power.

The Epstein files support a real relationship between Epstein and Zampolli. They do not support describing Zampolli as a convicted Epstein accomplice.

The most important investigative question is not whether the two men appeared in the same social world. That is already established. The unresolved question is what Zampolli knew about Epstein’s use of modeling networks and when he knew it.

Further reporting should focus on agency records, model contracts, visa sponsorships, housing arrangements, travel records, communications with Maxwell, and the proposed Elite acquisition.
