Why David Blaine Appears in the Epstein Records

Jeffrey Epstein maintained a relationship with David Blaine that involved travel, social arrangements, entertainment and practical favors.

The evidence extends beyond a contact book entry. It includes direct correspondence, staff coordination, a passenger manifest, filming requests and an immigration support letter.

A woman also told investigators that Blaine introduced her to Epstein and reassured her about accepting an island invitation. Her account includes a negative characterization of Blaine and her belief that he probably thought she was 17.

Those statements require clear attribution. An interview report establishes what investigators recorded a witness saying. It does not automatically establish every underlying event as a court finding.

The records also contain other women’s accounts and references to different people named David. Their ages, introductions and experiences must remain separate.

The Witness Who Named Blaine in Her Introduction to Epstein

EFTA00153851 records a woman saying she met Blaine at a New York nightclub when she was 18.

According to the notes, Blaine later took her to Epstein’s New York mansion. She described a large dinner where Naomi Campbell was present.

The woman said she met Epstein and spoke with him during the visit. She then left with Blaine.

EFTA01245521 contains a closely matching account in a formal FBI interview report.

That report identifies:

  • September 18, 2019, as the interview date.
  • March 19, 2020, as the drafting date.
  • April 23, 2020, as the entry date.

The administrative dates should not be mistaken for the interview date.

The report says she met Blaine in approximately September, but the surrounding date information is redacted. The passage does not support assigning a precise year.

The interview notes and formal report contain closely matching narratives. Because the identifying information is redacted, they should not be presented as independent corroboration from two separately identified witnesses.

Blaine’s Alleged Reassurance About the Island

EFTA00153851 records the woman saying she was contacted about visiting Epstein’s private island for New Year.

She said she asked Blaine whether it was acceptable to go. According to her account, he said yes.

EFTA01245521 preserves that statement in the formal FBI report.

The account identifies a separately referenced person as arranging her plane tickets and airport transportation. That person’s name is redacted.

The document therefore describes different roles:

  • Blaine allegedly introduced her to Epstein.
  • Blaine allegedly reassured her about accepting the invitation.
  • A separately referenced person arranged her travel.
  • The passage does not say Blaine accompanied her to the island.

Reassurance, travel arrangements and accompanying someone on a trip are different actions. They should not be combined.

Her Actual Age and Her Assessment of Blaine’s Belief

EFTA00153852 contains an important qualification to the statement that the woman was 18.

She told investigators that she sometimes said she was 17 to discourage attention from men in clubs and bars.

The notes then record her assessment that Blaine probably thought she was 17.

EFTA01245523 repeats that detail in the formal FBI report.

IssueWhat this witness account says
Her actual age when she met BlaineShe said she was 18
The age she sometimes gave menShe said she sometimes represented herself as 17
Her assessment of Blaine’s beliefShe said he probably thought she was 17
What she said she told Epstein at dinnerShe said she told him she was 17
What she said she told Epstein on the islandShe said she told him she was 18

The word “probably” records her assessment. It is not an admission from Blaine or independent proof of what he knew.

Describing her only as 18 omits a material part of her statement. Describing her as a minor whom Blaine knowingly introduced would also go beyond this evidence.

The Witness’s Negative Characterization of Blaine

EFTA00153852 records the woman describing men in her social environment as “weird creepy slimeballs.”

The notes say she included Blaine in that category, while describing him as the nicest one.

EFTA01245523 preserves that characterization in the formal report.

This is an adverse witness statement about Blaine. A blanket claim that the witness said nothing negative about him would be inaccurate.

However, the passage does not clearly describe a particular sexual assault by Blaine. The explicit description of someone putting his hands all over her identifies Epstein.

The supported distinction is:

  • She made a negative characterization of Blaine.
  • She described an introduction and reassurance involving him.
  • She described specific sexual misconduct by Epstein.
  • The cited passage does not clearly attribute a specific sexual act to Blaine.

This Witness’s Later Experiences With Epstein

EFTA01245522 records the woman saying she had dozens of interactions with Epstein.

She described approximately:

  • Two or three visits to his island.
  • Two visits to Palm Beach.
  • Five or six visits to New York.
  • One New Mexico trip with her sister.

EFTA01245523 records her allegation that Epstein sexually assaulted her during massages on multiple occasions.

She said he paid her $200 and tried to grope her. The report also describes career advice, conversations about her weight and massage instruction.

Those allegations concern Epstein. They provide context for the relationship she said followed Blaine’s introduction. They do not establish that Blaine witnessed or knew about the alleged assaults.

The Younger Sister and the New Mexico Account

EFTA01245523 records this woman saying she told Epstein that her younger sister was underage before bringing her to New Mexico.

According to her account, Epstein said that was acceptable.

EFTA01245522 records allegations that Ghislaine Maxwell encouraged sexual conversations and behavior during the trip.

EFTA01245524 records the older sister saying another woman made a disturbing comment about why the younger sister had been brought there. She also said her sister did not disclose what happened until years later.

The older sister’s reported age when she met Blaine must not be confused with the younger sister’s age during the New Mexico trip.

These passages do not identify Blaine as present in New Mexico or as arranging the sister’s visit.

The Separate Woman Interviewed in EFTA01246320

EFTA01246320 begins an eight page FBI report concerning an August 1, 2019 interview in New York.

It contains a different witness narrative from the account naming Blaine in the nightclub introduction.

EFTA01246321 records this woman describing meeting Epstein at 16 through another model.

That is a different introduction route:

AccountAge reported at introductionIntroduction described
EFTA00153851 and closely matching formal report18David Blaine took the woman to Epstein’s mansion
EFTA01246320 report16Another model introduced the woman to Epstein

The age of 16 in the second report must not be transferred to the woman who described meeting Blaine at 18.

Likewise, the second woman’s experiences must not be presented as additional events in the first woman’s account.

The Modeling Agency Owner Called David

EFTA01246321 refers to a modeling agency owner named David.

The visible passage does not supply a surname or identify him as David Blaine.

It therefore does not establish that:

  • Blaine owned the agency.
  • Blaine introduced this woman to Epstein.
  • This woman was the witness in the separate Blaine account.
  • The reference adds another allegation against Blaine.

A shared first name is insufficient to resolve an identity.

David Copperfield Is Separately Identified

EFTA00153853 records the woman from the Blaine introduction account describing a separate encounter with David Copperfield.

She said she and her sister met Copperfield in Las Vegas. She described that as the only occasion on which she met him.

EFTA01245525 contains the corresponding passage in the formal report.

The named people have separate roles in the records:

  • David Blaine appears in the New York introduction and island reassurance.
  • David Copperfield appears in the Las Vegas encounter.
  • A modeling agency owner called David appears in another woman’s interview.

Bekah Day’s September 2026 overview, bekahdayyy.substack.com lists Copperfield among 14 names raised by Representative Thomas Massie. Blaine is not among the 14 names listed in that article.

The Earlier Flight Records

The Epstein Exposed flight index, epsteinexposed.com identifies two February 1999 flights listing Blaine with Epstein and Maxwell.

DateIndexed routeAircraft registration
February 6, 1999Teterboro to Palm BeachN212JE
February 20, 1999Palm Beach to TeterboroN908JE

These are mainland routes. They should not be described as flights to Epstein’s island.

Law & Crime’s explanation of the trial exhibits, lawandcrime.com describes flight logs introduced during Maxwell’s trial and links the underlying collection.

Maxwell’s April 2003 Dinner Plans

EFTA00582316 contains an April 12, 2003 exchange between Maxwell and Tom Pritzker.

Maxwell described an upcoming New York dinner hosted by Epstein. Her list included Blaine and references to Mandelson, Black, Brockman, Jarecki and Stroll.

She also mentioned five models serving alongside staff.

The email establishes that Maxwell included Blaine in dinner plans. It does not independently establish that every named person attended.

The reference to models serving does not establish their ages or identify them as victims.

The September 2012 Passenger Manifest

HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_006313 is a manifest for aircraft N909JE.

The scanned document records:

  • Departure from Ontario, California, on September 19, 2012.
  • Arrival at Teterboro, New Jersey, on September 20.
  • Jeffrey Epstein as a passenger.
  • David Blaine as a passenger.
  • Two additional passenger names that are redacted.

The manifest supports a recorded flight involving Blaine and Epstein. It is stronger evidence than a proposed travel arrangement.

It does not record travel to Little Saint James.

Bill Gates’s Account of Blaine Performing at the Mansion

Bill Gates’s House Oversight transcript, oversight.house.gov contains his recollection of Blaine performing magic after a dinner at Epstein’s New York residence associated with February 27, 2013.

Gates identified Terje Rød Larsen and Thorbjørn Jagland as other dinner participants.

He also discussed photographs and said women he understood to be administrative staff were present during the tricks. He said he was not introduced to them.

This testimony supports an actual performance at the residence. Gates’s understanding of the women’s roles should not be treated as an independent determination of their circumstances.

The March 2013 Video Editing Record

EFTA01899097 is dated March 20, 2013.

It says an editor named Scott was working on a video involving Gates and Blaine. The sender asked whether Epstein had a deadline because the audio work was taking time.

The document establishes editing correspondence in 2013. It does not identify every scene, the intended distribution or the financial arrangements.

The October 2013 Filming Request

EFTA00670042 is dated October 17, 2013.

The message says Blaine wanted to visit Epstein’s house with a cameraman to film the bathroom. It also references earlier discussion about filming the stairs.

The sender asked whether the visit could proceed and estimated it would take 15 minutes.

CNN’s April 2026 investigation, prod.transcripts.cnn.com compared footage associated with Blaine’s 2013 television special with photographs of Epstein’s townhouse. CNN reported matching bathroom décor and kitchen cabinets.

The correspondence and visual comparison support a production connection with the residence. They do not establish a particular payment arrangement.

Dinner Arrangements With Woody Allen and Other Guests

EFTA02130123 contains Lesley Groff’s September 3, 2013 arrangements for dinner the following evening.

The expected guests included:

  • Woody Allen.
  • Soon Yi Previn.
  • Neil Gershenfeld.
  • Jeff Koons.
  • Justine Koons.
  • Blaine, expected to stop by at 9 p.m.

The email says Leon Black and his wife had been invited but could not attend because they were hosting their own dinner.

That distinction illustrates why proposed guest lists must not automatically become confirmed attendance lists.

Theater Tickets and Entertainment Arrangements

EFTA01755209 records November 6, 2013 instructions for Epstein to meet Blaine outside a theater.

The arrangements included:

  • Tickets for Epstein and a companion.
  • A possible third ticket.
  • A meeting at 7:15 p.m.
  • A performance beginning at 7:30 p.m.
  • The production Nothing to Hide.
  • The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theater at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
  • A reception afterward at Yotel.

The email documents ticket provision and logistics. It does not identify unnamed companions or confirm every proposed attendee.

Social Introductions and Performance Inquiries

EFTA01750518 contains a January 4, 2014 exchange in which Epstein told a correspondent about people they would meet.

He named Ariane de Rothschild, Blaine, Jes Staley and Tim Zagat, and suggested researching them.

This shows Epstein presenting access to Blaine as part of his social circle. It does not establish that every promised introduction happened.

EFTA02114373 contains a February 19, 2014 inquiry involving Zagat’s assistant about Blaine’s private party fee.

The record does not contain a quoted fee, completed booking or payment.

The Paris Proposal and Blaine’s Response

EFTA01936481 contains January 2014 correspondence between Epstein and modeling agent Ramsey Elkholy.

Elkholy discussed women who might meet Epstein and Blaine in Paris. He proposed using Blaine’s name to encourage a response and suggested Blaine mention knowing him.

EFTA01936482 contains Epstein’s statement that Blaine would also be with him and that they could invite the women to dinner.

Blaine is discussed in the third person. These pages do not show him agreeing to the proposal.

The Washington Post, www.washingtonpost.com reported that Blaine’s spokesperson denied involvement, saying others used his name without his knowledge.

The emails establish a proposal involving his name. They do not establish that he endorsed it or that the dinner occurred.

Harvard and White House Invitations

EFTA01620940 records April 2014 messages inviting Blaine to Harvard and offering transportation on Epstein’s aircraft.

The exchange includes a follow up asking whether he would attend. Blaine responded about preparing a performance and asked Epstein to call.

EFTA01620942 records Epstein asking in June 2015 whether Blaine was interested in visiting the White House.

These are invitations. The messages alone do not establish either visit occurred.

Correspondence About Women

The Irish Times investigation, www.irishtimes.com described a 2013 exchange in which Epstein asked whether a French woman associated with Blaine was in town. Blaine replied that she had recently arrived.

The newspaper also described a 2014 exchange suggesting Blaine find Epstein an assistant while touring South Africa. Blaine responded about being in Johannesburg rather than Cape Town.

Those exchanges do not establish the women’s ages, identities or involvement in abuse.

CNN’s reporting, prod.transcripts.cnn.com identified other messages about socializing with women and stated that their ages were unclear.

The word “girls” in correspondence does not, by itself, establish that the people discussed were minors.

Another Magician Expected at Dinner

EFTA02380507 contains a March 25, 2015 message from Groff.

She told Epstein that Blaine planned to bring another magician to dinner and had persuaded that person to change his flight.

The visible text does not identify the magician. It records anticipated participation rather than a completed attendance list.

The June 2015 Visa Letter

EFTA01192846 contains a letter dated June 1, 2015, supporting a woman’s O1 visa application.

The letter appears on Blaine’s company letterhead. It describes the applicant as a fashion model with abilities in fundraising and public relations.

It says Blaine met her through mutual friends and discussed collaborating on charitable fundraising.

These are representations made in support of an immigration application. The letter does not independently verify every claim about her achievements.

EFTA00667089 contains a June 2 email chain asking Blaine to add letterhead and sign the letter.

He agreed. A DB Productions project manager then transmitted an attachment named visa.pdf, copying Epstein.

The records support practical immigration assistance. The redacted applicant should not be identified by assuming she was one of the women in the separate investigative interviews.

Another Woman’s Description of Blaine

The Times interview with a Russian former model, www.thetimes.com reported that she had met Blaine repeatedly and did not regard him as creepy.

That account belongs to that woman.

It must not be substituted for the adverse characterization in the separate FBI interview. Different witnesses can describe different experiences.

The two descriptions do not establish that the women were the same person or that either account cancels the other.

November 2016 and April 2019 Correspondence

EFTA01784833 records a planned November 13, 2016 dinner with Allen, Previn and Blaine.

The schedule records Epstein’s planned departure for Little Saint James the following day. It does not establish that Blaine joined that island trip.

EFTA02635643 contains an April 4, 2019 message from Epstein to Blaine in the older dinner thread.

The visible record establishes an outgoing message. It does not show a new Blaine response or confirm a meeting in April 2019.

Separate Sexual Assault Allegations

ABC News’s April 2019 report, abcnews.com described a New York police investigation following allegations from two women.

The report said Blaine had not been charged or interviewed at that time. It attributed information about limitation periods to a police source.

CBS News, www.cbsnews.com reported Blaine’s denial and that London police did not pursue an earlier allegation further.

Those reports concern separate allegations. They do not establish participation in Epstein’s offenses.

CNN’s April 2026 investigation, prod.transcripts.cnn.com also described Epstein offering Blaine support after publicity about an allegation in 2017.

What EFTA02731144 Actually Concerns

EFTA02731144 is page 63 of a December 19, 2019 prosecution memorandum about potential Epstein coconspirators.

The page summarizes an account presented through Maxwell’s attorneys concerning her relationship with Epstein, responsibilities at his properties and denials involving minors.

It does not name Blaine on that page.

This is a separate subject from either woman’s interview. It must not be presented as another witness account about Blaine.

Recording Maxwell’s denials does not mean prosecutors accepted them as true.

What the Evidence Establishes and What It Does Not

The records support a substantial social and practical relationship involving Blaine and Epstein.

They also preserve an adverse witness account concerning an introduction, reassurance and the witness’s perception of Blaine.

They do not establish:

  • That the woman who reported meeting Epstein at 16 was the woman who described meeting Blaine at 18.
  • That the modeling agency owner called David was Blaine.
  • That Blaine arranged the island travel described in the witness account.
  • That he accompanied that woman to the island.
  • That he participated in the New Mexico trip involving her sister.
  • That every proposed dinner occurred.
  • That he approved Elkholy’s Paris proposal.
  • That the adverse characterization clearly alleges a specific sexual assault by Blaine.
  • That the visa applicant was either interviewee.
  • That Maxwell’s account on EFTA02731144 provides additional evidence about Blaine.

CNN reported in April 2026, prod.transcripts.cnn.com that Blaine’s representatives did not respond to its request for comment and that he had not been accused of criminal wrongdoing connected to Epstein.

That reporting should remain distinct from the negative witness statement recorded in the FBI materials.

Key Takeaways

  • The supplied PDFs contain different witness narratives.
  • One woman described meeting Blaine at 18 and being introduced to Epstein through him.
  • Another woman described meeting Epstein at 16 through another model.
  • The agency owner called David is not identified as Blaine.
  • The Blaine account includes the witness’s belief that he probably thought she was 17.
  • It also includes her negative characterization of him.
  • The closely matching interview notes and formal report should not be counted as independent corroboration from two identified witnesses.
  • A September 2012 manifest lists Blaine and Epstein as passengers.
  • Gates testified that Blaine performed at Epstein’s residence.
  • The video editing and bathroom filming records are dated 2013.
  • A June 2015 letter and email chain document immigration assistance.
  • Proposed meetings, completed actions and witness allegations have different evidentiary weight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the women in the two supplied PDFs the same person?

The files contain different witness narratives and should be treated separately. One describes meeting Blaine at 18. The other describes meeting Epstein at 16 through another model.

Is the modeling agency owner named David actually David Blaine?

The visible passage does not establish that identity. It supplies no surname.

Do the interview notes and EFTA01245521 provide two independent witnesses against Blaine?

No. Their closely matching content should not be counted as independent corroboration from two separately identified witnesses.

Did the woman who named Blaine say she was underage?

She said she was 18 when she met him. She also said she sometimes represented herself as 17 and believed he probably thought she was 17.

Did she describe Blaine negatively?

Yes. She included him among men she considered creepy, while describing him as the nicest of that group.

Did she clearly allege a specific sexual assault by Blaine in that passage?

The passage does not clearly identify a specific sexual act by Blaine. Its explicit account of repeated groping identifies Epstein.

Did Blaine book her island trip?

The account attributes those arrangements to a separately referenced person whose name is redacted.

Does the younger sister’s age describe the older witness?

No. The older woman and her younger sister are separate people with different ages and experiences.

Does EFTA02731144 name Blaine?

No. It summarizes Maxwell’s account presented through her attorneys.

Does a dinner schedule prove attendance?

No. An invitation, a schedule and testimony describing a completed event are different kinds of evidence.
