Kevin Spacey

Snapshot

Kevin Spacey is an American actor whose documented connection to Jeffrey Epstein centers on a September 2002 humanitarian trip through Africa and onward travel to Europe. Spacey traveled with former President Bill Clinton, actor Chris Tucker, Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, Clinton staff, and other passengers aboard Epstein’s Boeing 727, registration N908JE. Contemporary reporting, flight records, and later photographs confirm the shared travel and social proximity.

The public record reviewed for this page does not establish that Spacey participated in Epstein’s trafficking operation, visited Little Saint James, recruited anyone for Epstein, paid Epstein, received money from Epstein, or knew about Epstein’s abuse. No Epstein survivor is identified in the sources below as accusing Spacey of Epstein related abuse or facilitation.

Spacey has faced serious sexual misconduct allegations in matters unrelated to Epstein. Those matters are summarized separately because allegations in one evidence track cannot be used to manufacture proof in another.

Evidence status: Documented travel and proximity. No substantiated Epstein related abuse allegation identified.

Primary connection: September 2002 Africa delegation aboard aircraft owned by Epstein.

Known Epstein related criminal charge or civil claim against Spacey: None identified in the reviewed record.

Last reviewed: August 24, 2026.

Why Kevin Spacey Appears in Epstein Records

Spacey appears in the Epstein record because he was part of a prominent delegation that used Epstein’s aircraft during a trip focused on HIV and AIDS policy, public health, and development in Africa. The presence of Clinton and two internationally known actors brought early public attention to Epstein.

The October 2002 New York magazine profile preserved as EFTA00013640 opened by identifying Epstein as the man who had flown Clinton, Spacey, and Tucker to Africa aboard his Boeing 727. The article described the trip as a major reason the public began asking who Epstein was.

A separate press article preserved as EFTA01368195 also states that Clinton and Spacey flew on Epstein’s jet to Africa to discuss AIDS policy. These are media records preserved within the government production. They confirm public reporting about the trip, but they are not findings that Spacey committed a crime.

The distinction matters. A flight record establishes travel. A photograph establishes presence at a photographed place and time. Neither fact, without additional evidence, establishes knowledge, complicity, or abuse.

Career and Public Profile

Kevin Spacey Fowler was born on July 26, 1959. He became a prominent film, television, and stage actor, won Academy Awards for The Usual Suspects and American Beauty, and later served as artistic director of the Old Vic theatre in London from 2004 through 2015.

By 2002, Spacey was a globally recognized public figure with political and charitable connections. He was publicly friendly with Bill Clinton and participated in Democratic and Labour Party events. That public profile helps explain why his presence on the Africa trip generated attention. It does not, by itself, explain how the delegation came to use Epstein’s aircraft or what each passenger knew about Epstein.

The September 2002 Africa Trip

The trip began in New York on or about September 21, 2002. Its publicly stated purpose was to draw attention to HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment access, economic development, and efforts to prevent transmission of HIV from mothers to children.

Contemporary reporting places the delegation in Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Mozambique, and South Africa. A September 25, 2002 News24 report stated that Clinton was traveling with Spacey and Tucker to promote efforts against AIDS and encourage economic development. A September 30, 2002 Guardian report described Spacey as accompanying Clinton on a seven day Africa tour raising awareness and money for Clinton’s AIDS program before the group arrived in Britain.

The travel was not merely a celebrity appearance at one event. Available flight records place Spacey on multiple legs of an international itinerary aboard N908JE. Extracted records include travel from New York through the Azores to Accra, then through West, Central, and Southern Africa, followed by travel through Accra and Paris to London.

The surviving records have been transcribed differently by different public archives. Some databases collapse multistop travel into a smaller number of records. Others count every aircraft movement as a separate leg and produce a much larger number. This page therefore does not present one database’s count as the definitive number of flights. The reliable conclusion is that Spacey appears on multiple legs of one extended 2002 trip.

What the Flight Records Establish

The records support the following limited findings:

  • Spacey traveled aboard N908JE, a Boeing 727 owned by Epstein.
  • Clinton, Tucker, Maxwell, Doug Band, and other delegation members appear with Spacey on portions of the itinerary.
  • Epstein appears on multiple extracted manifests from the trip.
  • The itinerary included stops in Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Mozambique, South Africa, France, and Britain.
  • The delegation was publicly associated with HIV and AIDS policy and development work.

The records do not establish what every passenger knew about Epstein, what happened in every cabin during every leg, or whether all names on a handwritten log were recorded with equal precision. They also do not establish that every passenger joined every event or remained with the same subgroup throughout the trip.

Researchers should preserve the distinction between an aircraft leg and a separate relationship. Eighteen extracted legs from one itinerary do not prove eighteen independent encounters. Conversely, collapsing the trip into one event can hide how much time the travelers spent in shared transit. Both the duration and the limits of the evidence should remain visible.

Who Was on the Aircraft

Passenger lists vary by leg. Names associated with portions of the trip include:

  • Bill Clinton
  • Kevin Spacey
  • Chris Tucker
  • Jeffrey Epstein
  • Ghislaine Maxwell
  • Doug Band
  • Chauntae Davies
  • Casey Wasserman and Laura Wasserman
  • Andrea Mitrovich
  • Sean Koo
  • Rodney Slater
  • Gayle Smith
  • Ira Magaziner
  • Other staff, guests, crew members, and security personnel

The presence of a person on this list must not be presented as evidence that the person committed or witnessed abuse. Passenger names are included to reconstruct movement and co presence. Each person’s conduct requires its own evidence.

Chauntae Davies has publicly identified herself as an Epstein survivor and has discussed traveling on the Africa trip as an adult. Her presence is a reminder that survivor status, passenger status, employment status, and celebrity status are not interchangeable categories. A responsible article does not erase survivors from a manifest, but it also does not use their presence to accuse unrelated passengers without testimony or corroborating evidence.

Spacey’s 2024 Account

In a June 2024 interview with Piers Morgan, Spacey acknowledged that the humanitarian delegation used Epstein’s plane. He said Clinton invited him, that his focus was the public health mission, and that he did not know the aircraft belonged to Epstein at the time.

Spacey denied having a friendship or continuing relationship with Epstein or Maxwell. He said he spent his time with Clinton Foundation personnel, never visited Epstein’s island, and never saw Epstein or Maxwell again after the group traveled to Britain.

Spacey also said he felt uncomfortable with Epstein during the trip. He recalled the presence of “young girls” and said he believed Epstein put Clinton at risk. The Independent reported that Spacey did not give their ages or identify them.

This account is a first person statement made more than twenty years after the trip. It is relevant evidence about Spacey’s position, but it is not independently conclusive. His denial of a relationship can coexist with the documented fact that they shared an extended trip. His recollection of concern can be reported without converting it into proof that he recognized trafficking or witnessed abuse.

The “Young Girls” Statement

The phrase requires careful treatment because online retellings often turn ambiguous wording into a stronger claim than the source supports.

Spacey did not identify the people he described, state their ages, name them as victims, or allege that abuse occurred aboard the plane. The available interview reporting therefore does not support stating that minors were present merely because Spacey used the phrase “young girls.” It also does not support dismissing his recollection as meaningless.

The responsible formulation is narrow: Spacey said in 2024 that he recalled young female passengers and concern about Epstein. Their identities and ages were not established in that interview. Any claim that they were minors or that Spacey witnessed a crime requires separate evidence.

This approach protects survivors and the integrity of the record. It avoids both sensational amplification and premature exoneration.

Buckingham Palace and London

After the Africa portion of the trip, members of the delegation traveled to Britain. Spacey later said Clinton invited him to join a Buckingham Palace visit involving Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, then known as Prince Andrew.

A photograph published in 2020 shows Spacey and Maxwell seated on royal thrones during a private palace tour. ITV reported that Andrew organized the tour for Clinton and that Epstein was not thought to have been present. The image proves that Spacey and Maxwell were together inside the palace. It does not prove a private friendship, criminal conduct, or knowledge of Maxwell’s role in Epstein’s abuse.

Spacey said Maxwell was one of several people around the delegation, that she sat beside him for the photograph, and that he had no relationship with her. That is Spacey’s account. The photograph itself cannot confirm or refute the depth of their acquaintance.

Photographs released in December 2025 also show Spacey with Clinton, Maxwell, Doug Band, and others inside the Churchill War Rooms in London. The Guardian reported that the images were part of the government release and stated that no information suggested Spacey was involved in or aware of Epstein and Maxwell’s crimes.

The palace and museum photographs add context to the itinerary. They show shared access to elite spaces and the social legitimacy Epstein and Maxwell could obtain through prominent company. They do not, standing alone, establish culpability by the people pictured.

What Is Not Established by the Reviewed Record

The sources reviewed for this article do not establish that Spacey:

  • Visited Little Saint James or another Epstein property.
  • Participated in, facilitated, or knowingly benefited from Epstein’s trafficking operation.
  • Recruited a victim or arranged sexual access for Epstein or Maxwell.
  • Had a financial, investment, employment, or business relationship with Epstein.
  • Maintained direct correspondence with Epstein after the trip.
  • Continued meeting Epstein or Maxwell after 2002.
  • Was accused by an identified Epstein survivor of Epstein related abuse.

These are findings about the currently cited public record, not guarantees that no undisclosed record exists. Negative claims should be updated if reliable new evidence emerges.

One item in the government production, EFTA00086575, is an unsolicited letter from a member of the public to federal prosecutors. The writer suggested that investigators interview several British public figures, including Spacey, based on asserted social or professional connections. The letter is evidence that a person sent a suggestion to prosecutors. It is not an investigative finding, sworn testimony, or proof of the writer’s speculation.

Unrelated Sexual Misconduct Cases

Spacey has faced numerous sexual misconduct allegations that are separate from the Epstein record. They are included here because readers may otherwise assume that this article is concealing them or, in the opposite direction, may wrongly treat them as proof of Epstein related conduct.

In October 2022, a federal jury in New York found Spacey not liable in Anthony Rapp’s civil case. Rapp alleged that Spacey made a sexual advance toward him in 1986, when Rapp was fourteen. The verdict resolved that civil claim in Spacey’s favor.

In July 2023, a London jury acquitted Spacey of all nine criminal counts involving allegations by four men. An acquittal means the prosecution did not obtain a criminal conviction. It does not erase the fact that complainants made allegations, and it should not be rewritten as a factual finding about every event outside the charged counts.

In March 2026, Spacey reached confidential settlements with three men who had filed civil claims in London alleging sexual assault between 2000 and 2013. Spacey denied the allegations. The proceedings were stayed and the planned trial did not occur. The settlement terms were not disclosed. A settlement is not a judicial finding of liability and should not be described as an admission.

These cases concern allegations against Spacey in other settings. They do not supply missing evidence of an Epstein related offense. Similar subject matter is not a substitute for a documented connection between a person and a specific act.

Legal and Evidence Status

Epstein related criminal status: No Epstein related charge against Spacey identified.

Epstein related civil status: No Epstein related civil claim against Spacey identified.

Survivor allegation status: No identified Epstein survivor allegation against Spacey found in the cited sources.

Travel status: Confirmed on multiple legs of the September 2002 delegation aboard Epstein’s aircraft.

Photographic status: Confirmed in photographs with Maxwell and other delegation members in London.

Island status: Spacey denies visiting Little Saint James. No cited source on this page establishes such a visit.

Relationship status: Spacey denies friendship or continuing contact with Epstein and Maxwell. Shared travel and photographs establish proximity during the 2002 trip, but the reviewed record does not establish a continuing relationship.

Evidence Assessment

Confirmed

  • Spacey traveled on Epstein’s Boeing 727 during the September 2002 Africa delegation.
  • He shared travel with Clinton, Tucker, Maxwell, and other passengers.
  • He was photographed with Maxwell at Buckingham Palace.
  • Later released photographs show him with delegation members at the Churchill War Rooms.
  • He publicly acknowledged the flight and denied a personal relationship with Epstein or Maxwell.

Reported but dependent on Spacey’s recollection

  • Clinton invited him on the humanitarian trip.
  • He did not know at the time that Epstein owned the aircraft.
  • He felt concerned about Epstein and recalled young female passengers.
  • He never met Epstein or Maxwell again after the Britain portion of the trip.

Not substantiated in the cited record

  • That Spacey visited Epstein’s island.
  • That Spacey knew about or participated in trafficking.
  • That the people Spacey described in 2024 were minors or victims.
  • That unrelated misconduct allegations prove Epstein related wrongdoing.

Timeline

  • 1996: Maria Farmer reported Epstein and Maxwell to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, according to later public documentation. This warning predates the 2002 trip. No evidence cited here shows that Spacey knew about Farmer’s report.
  • September 21 through 22, 2002: The delegation departed New York aboard N908JE and traveled through the Azores to Accra, Ghana.
  • September 23 through 29, 2002: Spacey appeared on multiple itinerary legs through Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Mozambique, and South Africa. Contemporary reporting described the mission as focused on AIDS awareness, prevention, treatment, and economic development.
  • Late September 2002: The group traveled through Accra and Paris to London. Spacey later continued to the Labour Party conference in Blackpool with Clinton.
  • 2002, date not precisely established here: Spacey and Maxwell were photographed seated on thrones during a Buckingham Palace tour organized by Andrew for Clinton’s group. Epstein was not thought to have joined the palace tour.
  • October 2002: New York magazine published Landon Thomas Jr.’s profile of Epstein, prominently identifying the Africa trip with Clinton, Spacey, and Tucker.
  • 2005: Palm Beach police began the investigation that led to Epstein’s Florida case. This was not the first known warning to law enforcement, because Farmer had reported Epstein and Maxwell in 1996.
  • 2008: Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida to state offenses involving prostitution, including procurement of a minor for prostitution, and became a registered sex offender.
  • June 18, 2019: A Washington Post commentary forwarded within government records, preserved as EFTA00019249, referred to Epstein’s circle and included Spacey’s name. The item is a copied press article, not a finding about Spacey’s conduct.
  • July 2019: Federal prosecutors charged Epstein with sex trafficking offenses. He died in federal custody the following month before trial.
  • July 2020: News organizations published the Buckingham Palace throne photograph after Maxwell’s arrest.
  • October 2022: A New York jury found Spacey not liable in Anthony Rapp’s civil case.
  • July 2023: A London jury acquitted Spacey of all nine criminal counts tried against him.
  • June 2024: Spacey discussed the Africa trip in an interview with Piers Morgan. He acknowledged the travel, denied a relationship with Epstein or Maxwell, denied visiting the island, and described concern about young female passengers without identifying their ages.
  • July 2025: Spacey publicly called for release of all Epstein files and said the truth could not come soon enough.
  • December 2025: A government release included photographs showing Spacey with Clinton, Maxwell, Band, and others in London.
  • March 2026: Three unrelated London civil cases against Spacey ended in confidential settlements before trial. Spacey denied the allegations, and no court made a finding of liability.
  • August 24, 2026: This article was reviewed against the cited public record.

Direct Epstein Data Records

  • EFTA00013640: Government preserved copy of the October 2002 New York magazine profile. It directly identifies the Africa flight with Clinton, Spacey, and Tucker and describes Epstein’s role in providing the aircraft.
  • EFTA01368195: Government preserved press material stating that Clinton and Spacey flew aboard Epstein’s jet to Africa to discuss AIDS policy.
  • EFTA00019249: Forwarded Washington Post commentary from June 2019. Spacey appears in a press description of Epstein’s prominent circle. This is copied journalism, not an accusation against Spacey.
  • EFTA00086575: Unsolicited public correspondence suggesting that prosecutors interview Spacey and others. The suggestion is not proof, sworn testimony, or an official investigative conclusion.

Epstein Data is an independent research interface for the government production. Researchers should inspect the underlying document images and metadata, distinguish original records from copied media, and avoid treating automated indexing as a factual finding.

Editorial Note

This page applies a source specific standard. It does not treat a famous name in a flight log, photograph, press clipping, deposition question, or unsolicited letter as proof of criminal conduct. It also does not erase a documented connection merely because no charge followed.

Survivor accounts should be presented in their own words and with clear attribution. Unidentified passengers should not be labeled as minors or victims without evidence. Unrelated allegations should remain separated from Epstein related claims. New primary records should be added with their document numbers, dates, provenance, and precise evidentiary limits.
