Kittens and Cats in Jeffrey Epstein’s Files: Karyna Shuliak, Blueberry, Chiyo and Zorro Ranch

The July 24, 2015 kitten email contains the sentence “Explaining to our baby Jeffrey how kitties work.” Karyna Shuliak and Jeffrey Epstein are listed as recipients. The sender’s identity is redacted. Replies explain that Karyna and the sender pulled Jeffrey away because he wanted a kitten. Read together, the messages support interpreting “our baby Jeffrey” as a teasing description of Epstein himself. They do not establish the existence of a shared human infant.

The broader kitten correspondence documents breeder inquiries, photographs, deposits, household purchases, veterinary concerns, travel arrangements and care instructions. Two named cats, Blueberry and Chiyo, appear in the records. Separate correspondence connects kitten supplies to Zorro Ranch and contemplated movement of those supplies to Little Saint James.

The archive also contains sexual jokes, advertising, scientific discussion, literary references and an unexplained mention of “killing kittens.” Those appearances require individual examination. A keyword match alone cannot establish an animal, an event or an allegation.

These figures count matching pages and document identifiers. They do not count separate conversations, purchases or animals.

The broader cat search produces many unrelated results. The expanded kitten search includes kittens, kittenhood, names beginning with the same letters, shoe descriptions, advertising and faulty text recognition. Related searches for Blueberry, Chiyo and “our baby” located records that do not necessarily contain the exact word kitten.

Several limitations affect interpretation:

  • Quoted email chains can repeat the same message across many records.
  • Different copies may contain different redactions.
  • An attachment filename does not establish what the image depicts.
  • A medical record covering email does not reproduce its attached medical history.
  • A requested payment does not necessarily establish a completed transaction.
  • A proposed journey does not establish that the journey occurred.
  • Redacted participants cannot be identified solely from familiar wording.
  • Images without searchable captions may escape keyword searches.

The July 2015 “Our Baby Jeffrey” Conversation

EFTA00574487 records an email dated July 24, 2015, at 17:48 UTC. It lists Karyna Shuliak and Jeffrey Epstein as recipients and names an inline image, FullSizeRender.jpg. The message reads:

Explaining to our baby Jeffrey how kitties work.

The original scanned page confirms that wording. The visible page does not display the attached photograph. The sender and copied recipient are redacted.

EFTA00574495 preserves a reply asking whether they obtained a kitten.

EFTA00574496 preserves the explanation that Karyna and the writer had to pull Jeffrey away because he wanted one. The writer then jokes about turning the animal into slippers.

EFTA00850485 records Epstein’s sexual joke about Karyna providing him with “new pussy.”

EFTA00695571 preserves an amused response to that joke.

The full sequence supports reading “our baby Jeffrey” as a reference to Epstein. It does not establish a pregnancy, birth or infant. Karyna’s appearance as a recipient also does not establish that she wrote the original message.

The reviewed thread does not identify Nadia as the sender. It does not establish that the encounter occurred at Zorro Ranch.

Earlier Kitten Conversations in 2009 and 2010

EFTA00772849 records a July 21, 2009 message to Epstein about a kitten found in a parking area in an industrial district. The writer describes the animal affectionately and says it held the writer’s face in its paws during the night. The sender’s identity is redacted.

EFTA02440890 preserves another copy of that message.

EFTA02413259 preserves a June 2010 request for money for food alongside a statement about falling in love with a kitten.

EFTA00735270 includes Epstein’s response approving access to money through staff.

EFTA02413251 contains a further instruction to obtain $1,000 and Lesley Groff’s response about arranging it through Bella. The thread combines a general money request with a kitten reference. It does not establish that the entire $1,000 was a kitten purchase price.

The June 2011 Union Square Photograph

EFTA00661066 records a June 27, 2011 message to Epstein describing a cage of kittens in Union Square. The writer expresses distress about the sight. The record lists photo.JPG as an inline image.

The message identifies Union Square. It does not establish an adoption, a purchase or the identity of the photographed animals.

Karyna and Epstein’s May 2012 Cat Image Exchange

EFTA00535790 records Karyna’s May 21, 2012 response to a cat picture. She calls the kitten adorable and expresses surprise that Epstein used Tumblr to find the image.

EFTA00576788 records Epstein’s reply, “I looked for pussy.”

EFTA00539399 preserves Karyna’s amused response with the earlier messages quoted below it.

The exchange documents sexual wordplay surrounding a cat image. It does not establish that the kitten belonged to either correspondent or lived at an Epstein property.

The August 2015 Ragdoll Breeder Inquiries

EFTA02303149 contains Karyna’s correspondence with Pam Miller about a female Ragdoll kitten described as blue mitted lynx. The quoted exchange begins on August 10, 2015.

Pam supplies photographs and says the kitten will be ready for a new home on September 5. Karyna asks for photographs of the parents and later asks to visit after returning to New York around August 24 to 26. Pam identifies the mother as Ariana and the father as Dylan.

EFTA02303411 documents another August 2015 breeder conversation with Doris. Karyna asks about:

  • Available female Ragdoll kittens.
  • Blue mitted, blue colorpoint and lynx point appearances.
  • The kittens’ ages.
  • Differences in price.
  • Whether the kittens are purebred.
  • Photographs of their parents.
  • Whether the parents have been tested for HCM.
  • A FaceTime or Skype conversation before a possible trip to Florida.

The record establishes that Karyna asked about HCM testing. It does not provide the test results.

EFTA02303148 records an August 16 exchange with Jennifer associated with East End Ragdolls. Karyna describes herself as a dentist, says she has lived with cats throughout her life and explains that she has full time help. She again specifies preferred female Ragdoll coat patterns.

These are separate inquiries. They should not automatically be merged into one completed purchase or treated as proof that every kitten discussed was acquired.

The $100 Deposit and Epstein’s Approval

EFTA00848875 records Epstein’s August 12, 2015 approval of Bella Klein’s request to confirm a $100 kitten deposit.

Karyna’s forwarded instructions name Doris Simon as the payee. She requests a check or money order with a memo identifying it as her kitten deposit.

EFTA00574593 contains Bella’s message saying the check and shipping label are attached.

EFTA00574595 adds that the payment will be sent by FedEx that day.

EFTA00614782 provides accounting support. Its expense schedule lists an August 12 payment of $100 to Doris Simon, check number 842, with a memo identifying Karyna’s kitten deposit.

The matching payee, date, amount and description connect the correspondence to a recorded expense. The amount represents a deposit. These records do not establish the final purchase price or prove that Blueberry was the kitten reserved through this transaction.

Photographs and Blueberry’s Introduction

EFTA00567979 records a September 7, 2015 email from Karyna titled “My little kitten!” It lists four image filenames:

The text layer does not provide a substantive message identifying the kitten or its location.

EFTA02329828 records Epstein’s enthusiastic November 8 reply to Karyna’s message about Blueberry and her mother.

EFTA02327135 records a November 21 message to Eva Dubin saying Jeffrey had told the writer that Eva wanted to see Blueberry’s picture. It refers to photographs of Blueberry and her mother.

EFTA02330184 preserves Eva’s reply to Karyna and lists image attachments.

EFTA00526457 records Karyna sending Epstein more photographs of Blueberry in bright light on March 3, 2017.

These messages establish the circulation of cat photographs within Epstein’s household and social correspondence. Receiving a photograph does not establish involvement in wrongdoing.

Kitten Supplies Delivered to Zorro Ranch

EFTA00525845 preserves the November 9 to 11, 2015 delivery conversation between Karyna and the Zorro account. The caretaker signs as Karen.

Karen confirms that a cat scratcher lounger has arrived. Karyna replies that she is preparing for a kitten she expects to obtain at the end of the month. She says a cat tree should also arrive.

Karen later reports two more boxes and asks whether to assemble their contents. Karyna requests that the items be unpacked but left unassembled because some might be taken to LSJ, the abbreviation used in the thread for Little Saint James.

EFTA00573361 preserves the caretaker’s acknowledgement and the quoted delivery history.

The exchange directly connects kitten preparations to the Zorro household. It also documents contemplated movement of supplies between properties. It does not prove that every item remained at Zorro or that a kitten permanently lived there.

Pet Purchases and Accounting Records

EFTA00573612 records a December 1, 2015 Instacart delivery containing canned kitten food and a cat stain and odor product. A separate deodorizer appears as refunded.

EFTA00573668 records a December 3 delivery listing a scratching post, kitten shampoo and litter box wipes. It also records a replacement involving cat toys.

EFTA00573324 records a January 2016 shipment of Orijen Cat & Kitten dry food to Karyna in Palm Beach.

EFTA00532757 records a Kindle purchase of a Ragdoll kitten care guide placed on June 26, 2016. The listed price is $4.99.

The accounting descriptions do not independently itemize everything included in the larger totals. They should not be presented as purchase prices for individual cats.

EFTA00510460 includes a task entry for a kitten deposit among other household and personal reminders. A reminder alone does not establish an additional payment.

Shopping emails also contain recommendations and advertising. Relevant examples include:

Blueberry’s January 2016 Veterinary Concerns

EFTA02472778 records Karyna sending Epstein a proposed veterinary email on January 26, 2016. She asks whether it is acceptable to send to Dr. Soboroff.

The draft identifies Blueberry as a female Ragdoll kitten about five and a half months old. Karyna describes:

  • A December examination that she says was normal.
  • A recent negative fecal test.
  • Earlier soft stool associated with new foods.
  • Improvement after veterinary advice.
  • A new episode of liquid stool while in the Caribbean.
  • Continued activity, playfulness and appetite.
  • A lizard entering the room and Blueberry playing with it.
  • Concern about parasites and liver flukes.
  • A local veterinarian’s recommendations concerning deworming and parasite prevention.
  • Questions about medication or another stool sample before returning to New York.

EFTA02296265 preserves another copy with more damaged text recognition. The clearer version is preferable when quoting the kitten’s age.

This is a proposed email describing symptoms and concerns. It does not establish a confirmed infection, medication administration or the final treatment outcome.

EFTA00532586 records New York Cat Hospital sending Blueberry’s medical record on August 3, 2016. The named PDF attachment provides a further evidence lead. The covering email does not reproduce the complete medical history.

The Ring Tailed Animal at Zorro Ranch

EFTA00567536 records Karyna’s February 15, 2016 reply to Brice Gordon under the subject “Ring Tailed Cat NM.”

The quoted Zorro message says an animal described as a ring tailed cat was found at the lodge that morning. It says “The Boss” asked for the photograph to be sent.

Karyna thanks Brice and reports that Blueberry is approximately six months old and weighs eight pounds.

EFTA00572525 preserves Brice’s further reply about the animal and Blueberry’s growth.

EFTA00572524 contains another appearance of the original ranch message.

The ranch animal and Blueberry are discussed separately. The correspondence does not identify the animal at the lodge as Blueberry. Its informal description also should not be treated as a verified species identification without examining the photograph.

Blueberry’s Belongings and Household Care

EFTA00532726 preserves an August 22, 2016 discussion about Blueberry’s belongings.

The thread mentions a FedEx box in a garage, concern about allergies and washing blankets with Woolite. Karyna says the belongings can remain where they are as long as they are clean.

The reviewed passages do not establish the garage’s location. They do not justify assigning it to Zorro Ranch.

Airline Arrangements and Karyna’s Objection to Cat Travel

EFTA02064490 records Lesley Groff’s December 16, 2015 request for information needed to arrange cabin space for Blueberry.

The travel representative asks for carrier size, breed and weight and notes that a fee will apply. The message documents planning rather than a completed flight.

EFTA00564926 records Karyna’s June 20, 2017 objection to taking the cats on a commercial flight to the island.

She explains that she previously made the journey when Blueberry was smaller. She says both cats are now large and have little room in airline approved carriers.

Karyna describes a journey lasting seven to eight hours, including a boat transfer in the heat. She asks whether Epstein might return to New York and says she otherwise needs to consider someone to care for the cats.

The objection documents pet travel concerns and household decisions. It does not establish that the proposed commercial journey subsequently occurred.

Chiyo and Later Veterinary Care

EFTA01743484 records an October 23, 2016 message to Epstein praising Chiyo. The writer says they heard that Epstein also loved the kitten. The writer’s identity is redacted.

EFTA00525653 records Karyna’s January 31, 2017 email titled “Little Chiyo.” It lists numerous image attachments.

EFTA02660292 contains a February 2017 stationery conversation joking that Chiyo would like fluffy paper to chew with her small teeth.

EFTA00551277 records December 2018 correspondence between Karyna and Dr. Kimberly Pueblo. Karyna sends photographs of Chiyo’s tumor. The veterinarian says surgery at Park East appears possible the following week and proposes discussing a plan.

The correspondence documents proposed care. It does not confirm that surgery occurred.

Blueberry and Chiyo should be tracked individually. Payments for unnamed kittens should not automatically be assigned to either cat.

The Separate October 2016 Payment Request

EFTA02041189 preserves Karyna’s October 3, 2016 request for a $510 cashier’s check or money order to Michele Cartright.

She requests delivery before October 11 through UPS or FedEx without a signature requirement. Her postscript identifies the payment as concerning a kitten she might obtain.

Lesley forwards the request and asks a recipient to bring her $510 in cash the next day.

This request is separate from the August 2015 deposit to Doris Simon. The reviewed thread does not identify the kitten or provide final delivery confirmation.

Text Messages and Skype Records

EFTA00514614 contains November 6, 2016 messages reminding someone about medicine for Chiyo. A reply says she took it. Participant fields are substantially redacted.

EFTA00514633 contains November 7 messages saying “Blue” has slight diarrhea and wondering whether kitten dry food is responsible. The passage does not independently establish that Blue is Blueberry.

EFTA00514992 contains December 23 messages comparing an image with a kitten. Text recognition differs between repeated renderings, leaving the exact possessive wording uncertain.

EFTA00515210 contains March 20, 2017 messages discussing an animal’s facial coloring and loss of kittenhood.

EFTA01623002 contains a June 16, 2017 Skype exchange reporting a lost kitten in a forest. The jeevacation account replies “smaller.”

EFTA01623884 preserves another appearance of the Skype exchange. The reviewed passage does not identify the forest or establish a connection to Zorro.

EFTA00516001 contains June 2018 messages about brushing Chiyo and removing loose fur.

EFTA00518408 contains June 5, 2019 messages from a participant displayed as Sonam about feeding both cats. Blueberry is named. The writer asks for instructions concerning dinner and the recipient’s arrival.

These records expand the evidence beyond email. Repeated exports should not be counted as separate conversations, and redacted participants should not be identified from household context alone.

The January 2017 “Killing Kittens” Reference

EFTA01056499 records Epstein’s January 16, 2017 message asking whether a move in March remains on track. He then says Karyna told him about “killing kittens” and that he wants to hear more.

EFTA00705302 preserves a January 17 reply saying the move remains on and asking whether Epstein is back in New York.

EFTA02395933 preserves a less redacted quoted version of the same exchange.

EFTA02663189 provides another copy of Epstein’s original wording.

The phrase appears in the records. The reviewed exchange does not explain its referent. It does not establish that an animal was harmed, identify a perpetrator or locate an event at Zorro Ranch.

Killing Kittens’ published history describes a separate business associated with founder Emma Sayle. The existence of that name provides an alternative interpretation to investigate. It does not establish that Epstein’s email referred to the business. Blog

The reviewed correspondence does not establish company involvement, event attendance or a relationship with Epstein. The phrase remains an unresolved contextual question.

Sexual Nicknames, Jokes and Promotional Messages

EFTA00710198 records a February 14, 2012 message addressing Epstein as “sex kitten” while discussing Valentine’s Day gifts and furniture.

EFTA01841817 preserves another copy. This appearance is a nickname rather than a pet reference.

EFTA00542341 records Brian Vickers sending a sexual joke about masturbation and God killing a kitten on May 21, 2012. The document establishes circulation of a joke. It does not report an actual animal death.

EFTA02091590 contains a November 2014 exchange quoting Jena Masquelier’s wish for a kitten to hold in a deli. The conversation also concerns social plans and a thank you card to Jeffrey.

EFTA02091188 contains another version with more redaction. Neither appearance establishes a kitten purchase.

EFTA02716569 is a Fleur du Mal promotional email using “Sex Kitten Essentials” in its subject.

EFTA01979405 contains another promotional kitten reference.

EFTA01949576 is an October 29, 2013 Uber promotion for National Cat Day kitten visits.

Marketing emails do not establish that Epstein purchased an advertised item or used the advertised service.

Scientific Discussions and Literary Material

EFTA00933508 contains a December 2017 exchange with Noam Chomsky discussing visual development and experiments involving kittens.

These are literary or educational materials. They do not establish that Jessie belonged to Epstein.

EFTA00295112 contains writing attributed to Jena M. about childbirth and loss, including a comparison between a newborn and a kitten. The appearance of “Jeff” in that narrative is insufficient to identify him as Jeffrey Epstein. It does not establish Epstein’s paternity.

EFTA00304813 contains a published profile mentioning a kitten called Starlight.

EFTA00882003 contains circulated material about a monkey and a kitten in Bali.

These appearances differ from records documenting household ownership or care.

Survivor Coverage, Shoes and Other False Matches

EFTA00794556 contains litigation discussion quoting a hostile media description of Virginia Giuffre as a “sex kitten.” The phrase belongs to the quoted reporting and legal argument. It is not an established finding about Giuffre.

Repetition across court exhibits and email links generates keyword matches without documenting additional animals.

What the Records Establish

The reviewed evidence documents real cats, named animals, breeder discussions, household deliveries, financial arrangements and veterinary care. Epstein participated directly in some conversations and approved a documented kitten deposit request.

The Zorro correspondence establishes deliveries of cat supplies to the ranch. The ring tailed animal message establishes a separate photograph exchange concerning an animal found at the lodge. Neither record establishes that every cat mentioned elsewhere lived at Zorro.

The July 2015 thread illustrates why replies matter. The isolated phrase “our baby” can invite a different interpretation from the full sentence and subsequent exchange. The reviewed correspondence supports a nickname for Epstein. It does not establish a pregnancy, childbirth or shared infant.

The archive also contains unrelated uses of kitten and cat. Jokes, shoe descriptions, advertising, scientific discussions and literary material must remain separate from household care records.
