| Principal public records | HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_050603 and HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_071978 |
| Additional image records | HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_083569, HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_083584, and HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_083618 |
| Source collection | Photographs produced by the Jeffrey Epstein estate to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform |
| Public release dates | December 12 and December 18, 2025 |
| Principal depicted person | Bill Gates |
| Other visible people | Two unidentified women whose faces were redacted, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and an unidentified aircraft crew member |
| Epstein visible in the principal two records | No |
| Photographer established by image metadata | No |
| Later photographer attribution | Gates testified that Epstein requested and took the two principal photographs |
| Known or estimated capture period | Several images appear connected to meetings and travel between 2011 and 2013, but not every image has a verified date |
| Evidentiary value | Corroborates physical encounters, locations, and Epstein’s practice of requesting photographs with women connected to his staff or social circle |
| Central limitation | A photograph proves only what it visibly records unless date, location, identity, photographer, custody, and surrounding circumstances are independently established |
| Related official testimony | Bill Gates transcribed interview, June 10, 2026 |
| Status of criminal allegation against Gates | The cited photographs do not establish criminal conduct by Gates, and Gates denied witnessing or participating in Epstein’s abuse |
The public Epstein files contain more than one kind of Bill Gates image. Two released estate photographs show Gates posing separately with the same unidentified, adult appearing woman. One was taken in a corridor outside a Signature aviation facility, according to Gates’s sworn testimony. The other was taken in a hotel room, probably after a February 2013 meeting at the Four Seasons. Other released images show a framed photograph of Gates on a wall, Gates with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor at a public function, and Gates standing beside an aircraft crew member.
The distinction among these records is essential. The first two are direct images of Gates with a woman connected, according to his testimony, to Epstein’s entourage. The wall image is a photograph of a display containing another photograph. The Andrew image appears to be an event photograph preserved in the estate collection. The aircraft image documents travel context, but does not by itself identify the aircraft, route, date, owner, or reason for the trip.
What Is This Record?
This page is a catalog and analysis of publicly released photographs of Bill Gates found in the Epstein estate production and related federal releases. It centers on two records that House investigators presented to Gates during his June 10, 2026 transcribed interview:
- HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_050603, showing Gates in a suit beside a redacted woman in a corridor.
- HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_071978, showing Gates in a hotel room with his arm around a redacted woman.
The same woman appears to be depicted in both photographs. Gates testified that he did not know her name and had not been introduced to her. He described her as someone who was with Epstein and, regarding the hotel image, as one of Epstein’s assistants. He also testified that Epstein asked him to pose and took the photographs.
Earlier public descriptions sometimes identified the woman as Mila Antonova. That identification should not be treated as established. In the congressional interview, Gates said the woman was not Antonova. He separately acknowledged meeting Antonova at a bridge tournament and having an affair with her when both were adults. Those admissions do not convert the redacted woman in these two records into Antonova. Accurate cataloging requires keeping the two issues separate.
The broader file set also contains images in which Gates appears without the redacted woman. These additional records help researchers understand the variety of material in the estate archive, but they do not all carry the same evidentiary weight.
| Category | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Gates with redacted woman | Gates posed with the woman at the photographed location | Her name, age, legal status, relationship to Epstein, or whether misconduct occurred |
| Gates with Andrew | The two men were photographed together | That Epstein arranged the meeting, attended it, or took the photograph |
| Gates with aircraft crew member | Gates stood beside a crew member at an aircraft doorway | The aircraft owner, route, passenger list, destination, or purpose |
| Framed Gates image on a wall | A photograph of Gates was displayed in the photographed room | Who placed it there, when it was displayed, or what relationship the display signified |
Source and Provenance
The House Committee obtained approximately 95,000 photographs from the Epstein estate under congressional subpoena. On December 12, 2025, House Oversight Democrats announced receipt of that production and published a small selection. On December 18, they published another group, stating that the estate had supplied no context for the images. The Committee redacted women whom it described as survivors or whose status it could not determine. See the official December 12 release and December 18 release.
This provenance establishes a chain from the estate to Congress and then to the public. It does not establish who originally created every image, how Epstein or the estate obtained it, or whether each digital file is an original camera image rather than a copy, scan, screenshot, or downloaded press photograph.
| Provenance stage | Established fact | Remaining limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Estate custody | The photographs were produced from the Epstein estate collection | Estate custody does not prove Epstein personally owned, selected, or viewed every file |
| Congressional production | House Oversight received the files through its investigation | The public does not have a complete item level inventory of all 95,000 images |
| Public release | House Democrats published selected images with record numbers | Selection criteria and omitted neighboring files are not fully explained |
| Public mirror | Epstein Data provides stable record level access | A mirror improves access but is not the originating custodian |
| Sworn identification | Gates answered questions about displayed exhibits in 2026 | Human recollection can be incomplete, and not every exhibit has been publicly mapped to an image number |
The publicly distributed JPEGs for the two principal images do not provide reliable capture dates or a named photographer through ordinary embedded metadata. Their file dimensions and release markings are useful for identifying the public versions, but processing dates are not capture dates. The House label is an archival identifier, not a camera timestamp.
Reuters distributed HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_050603 as a House Oversight Committee Democrats handout. That credit describes Reuters’s distribution role. It does not mean a Reuters photographer made the original image.
What the Record Contains
Principal image inventory
| Record | Visible content | Location evidence | Photographer evidence | Epstein visible |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_050603 | Gates in a dark suit and white shirt beside a redacted woman wearing a light blouse, gray skirt, dark tights, and pearl necklace | Corridor with luggage equipment and a visible Signature sign. Gates identified it as the fixed base operator at National Airport | No useful public metadata. Gates testified that Epstein asked for and took the photograph | No |
| HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_071978 | Gates in a checked shirt with his arm around the same apparent redacted woman, who wears a dark dress | Hotel room or suite with desk, laptop, curtains, lamp, chair, and windows. Gates and investigators associated it with a Four Seasons meeting | No useful public metadata. Gates testified Epstein asked for it and said he thought Epstein took it | No |
Additional public image inventory
| Record | Visible content | Evidentiary classification | Important caution |
|---|---|---|---|
| HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_083569 | A room wall displaying framed photographs. One frame contains a profile image of Gates. Other depicted faces are redacted | Secondary image within a room photograph | The room, photographer, display owner, date, and reason for displaying Gates’s image are not established by the photograph alone |
| HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_083584 | Gates speaking with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor at a formal event | Event photograph preserved in the files | Epstein is not visible. Estate possession does not prove that Epstein arranged or attended the event |
| HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_083618 | Gates smiling beside a uniformed aircraft crew member at an aircraft entrance while carrying books, papers, and a bag | Travel context photograph | The visible aircraft details do not establish ownership, route, destination, passenger manifest, or Epstein’s presence |
Images described during congressional questioning
The transcript identifies more Gates photographs than can presently be matched with confidence to public House record numbers.
| Committee exhibit | Transcript description | Gates’s response | Public image number |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minority Exhibit H | Gates with redacted woman near Signature facility | Identified National Airport setting after a December 3, 2013 meeting and said Epstein took the image | HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_050603 |
| Minority Exhibit I | Gates with redacted woman in hotel room | Associated it with a February 27, 2013 Four Seasons meeting and said Epstein probably took it | HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_071978 |
| Minority Exhibit J | Gates in a group with the woman from H and I | Did not recall the photograph or recognize the other people | Not confidently mapped |
| Minority Exhibit K | Gates, Epstein, an Epstein assistant, another woman, and a Scandinavian public figure | Believed it was at Epstein’s New York residence after a dinner that included a David Blaine performance | Not confidently mapped |
| Minority Exhibit L | Gates with Eva Dubin and Karyna Shuliak | Believed it was at the Four Seasons on August 20, 2012 | Not confidently mapped |
| Minority Exhibit M | Gates, Epstein, Boris Nikolic, Jes Staley, and Larry Summers | Identified it as a May 2, 2011 dinner at Epstein’s Manhattan residence | Not confidently mapped |
These unmapped exhibits should be recorded as testified photographic evidence, not assigned speculative file numbers. A wrong identifier contaminates search results, captions, internal links, and later research.
Key Evidence Points
- Gates is visibly present in the two principal photographs.
- Epstein is not visibly present in either principal photograph. Any attribution of him as photographer comes from Gates’s sworn testimony, not from the visible pixels or public metadata.
- Gates testified that the woman in both images was not Mila Antonova. He said he did not know the woman’s name and understood her to be connected to Epstein, including as an assistant.
- The Signature branding in HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_050603 supplies a visible location clue. Gates used that clue to identify the corridor as the Signature facility at National Airport.
- Gates placed the corridor image after a December 3, 2013 meeting. That statement gives researchers a testable lead for calendars, aircraft records, vehicle records, and witness interviews.
- Gates and Committee questioners associated HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_071978 with a February 27, 2013 Four Seasons meeting. The hotel identification is testimonial and circumstantial, not confirmed by a public booking record attached to the image.
- Gates described a recurring practice in which Epstein asked him to pose with women who were around at the conclusion of meetings. If corroborated across the full image set, that pattern could help investigators reconstruct how Epstein documented access to prominent contacts.
- Gates acknowledged one flight with Epstein from Newark to Palm Beach. He testified that two adult appearing female assistants were in the forward cabin and that a photograph existed. The aircraft photograph at HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_083618 may be relevant travel evidence, but the public image alone cannot be assigned to that flight without corroboration.
- The estate archive mixed private snapshots, displayed photographs, and apparently public event images. Researchers must not treat every file as an Epstein authored photograph.
- None of these images, standing alone, proves that Gates participated in Epstein’s sexual abuse, knew the redacted woman was a victim, or committed a crime.
What the Record Does and Does Not Prove
| Question | Supported conclusion | Unsupported leap |
|---|---|---|
| Was Gates photographed with a woman connected to Epstein? | Yes, according to the images and Gates’s testimony | That the woman was a survivor, minor, employee in a legal sense, or participant in misconduct |
| Did Epstein take the two principal photographs? | Gates testified that Epstein took the corridor image and probably took the hotel image | The files contain no public original metadata independently naming Epstein |
| Do the images place Gates in Epstein’s orbit? | Yes, especially when read with the meeting testimony | That every photographed encounter had an illicit purpose |
| Was the woman Mila Antonova? | Gates testified she was not Antonova | Visual speculation cannot override the sworn identification without stronger evidence |
| Does the hotel photograph prove sexual activity? | No | A hotel room and physical pose do not establish sexual contact or coercion |
| Does the aircraft image prove Gates flew on Epstein’s aircraft? | No, not by itself | Aircraft ownership and route cannot be inferred solely from the doorway image |
| Does the Andrew photograph prove a three person Gates, Andrew, Epstein meeting? | No | Epstein is not visible, and the original event context remains unverified here |
| Does estate possession prove blackmail? | No | Collection and preservation are not proof of an extortion plan |
| Do the photographs establish criminal conduct by Gates? | No | Association, posing, and attendance are not proof of a crime |
The photographs are nevertheless significant. Evidence need not prove a crime by itself to matter. Images can corroborate presence, sequence, travel, introductions, and the composition of a social network. Their value grows when aligned with calendars, emails, testimony, hotel records, aircraft logs, and other photographs from the same device or event.
The blackmail question requires special care. Gates testified that Epstein later used knowledge of his affairs as leverage to encourage renewed engagement. That is a claim about pressure based on personal information. It does not prove that these specific photographs were used as leverage. No released message cited here shows Epstein transmitting either image with a threat or demand.
People and Entities Appearing in the Record
| Person or entity | Role in this evidence set | Evidentiary status |
|---|---|---|
| Bill Gates | Microsoft cofounder and philanthropist depicted in all cataloged Gates images | Visually identified and later questioned under oath |
| Jeffrey Epstein | Convicted sex offender whose estate produced the files | Not visible in the two principal images. Gates attributed the photography to him. Visible in other transcript exhibits |
| Unidentified redacted woman | Appears with Gates in HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_050603 and HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_071978 | Identity, age, employment status, and survivor status are not public and should not be guessed |
| Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor | Appears with Gates in HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_083584 | Their joint appearance is visible. Epstein’s role in the event is not shown |
| Unidentified crew member | Appears beside Gates in HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_083618 | Uniform suggests aviation work, but name and employer are not established |
| Boris Nikolic | Gates science adviser and participant in meetings discussed in the transcript | Appears in testimony and in the described May 2011 group photograph |
| Jes Staley | Banker identified in the May 2011 dinner photograph described in testimony | Not assigned here to a public image number without verification |
| Larry Summers | Former Treasury Secretary and Harvard president identified in the May 2011 dinner photograph | Not assigned here to a public image number without verification |
| Eva Dubin | Identified in a Four Seasons photograph shown during testimony | Identification comes from Gates’s answers and Committee questioning |
| Karyna Shuliak | Identified by the Committee in the same Four Seasons photograph | Public record number not confidently mapped |
| Signature Aviation | Brand visible in the corridor photograph | Visual clue supporting the National Airport location identification |
| Four Seasons | Hotel named in questioning about the hotel room image and other Gates meetings | Exact property and booking documentation require confirmation |
| House Oversight Committee | Recipient, selector, redactor, publisher, and later questioner | Primary government source for the public image release and transcript |
| Epstein estate | Producing custodian of the photographic archive | Custody does not identify the original photographer for every file |
No unidentified woman should be named through facial resemblance, clothing, body shape, or online rumor. The House redactions signal a privacy and safety concern. Even if later evidence establishes identity, publication should consider consent, public interest, and the risk of amplifying harassment.
Timeline Significance
| Date | Event | Significance to the photographs |
|---|---|---|
| 2008 | Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida to offenses involving solicitation, including solicitation of a minor | Gates’s later meetings occurred after Epstein’s conviction was public |
| May 2, 2011 | Dinner at Epstein’s Manhattan residence with Gates, Epstein, Nikolic, Staley, and Summers, according to Gates’s testimony | Group photograph shown as Minority Exhibit M |
| August 20, 2012 | Four Seasons meeting associated with a photograph of Gates, Eva Dubin, and Karyna Shuliak | Minority Exhibit L remains publicly unmapped by record number |
| February 27, 2013 | Meeting involving Gates, Epstein, Nikolic, and others | Gates associated HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_071978 with the period after this meeting |
| December 3, 2013 | Meeting followed by travel through National Airport, according to Gates | Gates dated and located HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_050603 through the Signature sign |
| December 2014 | Gates said he ended contact with Epstein | Marks the stated end of the relationship examined in later reviews |
| July 2019 | Epstein was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges | Renewed scrutiny of his records and influential contacts |
| December 12, 2025 | House Democrats released a first selected estate photo set | Included additional Gates related imagery and announced the roughly 95,000 photo production |
| December 18, 2025 | House Democrats released another selected set | Included the two principal Gates photographs with the redacted woman |
| June 10, 2026 | Gates appeared for a transcribed House Oversight interview | Supplied dates, locations, identities, denials, and claimed photographer attribution |
| June 23, 2026 | Committee published the Gates and Lesley Groff transcripts | Made the sworn image discussion available for public comparison |
| July 21, 2026 | Gates Foundation published a summary of a WilmerHale external review | Broadened the institutional context but did not authenticate each photograph |
The timeline shows why the photographs matter beyond celebrity association. They sit inside a documented post-conviction period when Epstein cultivated access to Gates and foundation personnel. The WilmerHale review summary reported roughly 30 meetings between Epstein and ten foundation leaders and staff from 2011 through 2014. The Foundation said the review found no evidence that it paid Epstein or knew of or participated in his criminal activity. The public summary also has scope limits, including the reported exclusion of Gates’s personal email and Gates Ventures records.
Related Evidence
The photographs should be analyzed beside records that can confirm or challenge their implied chronology.
| Evidence class | Research use | Caution |
|---|---|---|
| Calendars and scheduling emails | Test whether meetings occurred on the dates Gates supplied | A scheduled meeting does not prove attendance without corroboration |
| Flight logs and manifests | Identify aircraft, route, crew, and passengers | Logs can be incomplete, handwritten, or inconsistent |
| Hotel records | Confirm property, booking holder, room, and time | Access may be restricted, and a booking does not identify every visitor |
| Device metadata | Identify capture time, camera model, sequence, and edits | Public derivatives may have stripped original metadata |
| Neighboring image files | Reconstruct an event through sequence and repeated backgrounds | File numbering may reflect processing rather than camera order |
| Sworn testimony | Supplies first person identification and context | Memory after many years may be incomplete or self protective |
| Foundation records | Establish institutional meetings, warnings, and proposed projects | Foundation records do not necessarily include Gates’s personal communications |
| Press photography | Confirms public event appearances and dates | A licensed event image inside the estate collection does not prove a private Epstein connection |
The June 2026 transcript is especially important because it converts several visual clues into testable assertions. Gates identified the Signature corridor, supplied meeting dates, recognized Epstein in other exhibits, and distinguished the redacted woman from Antonova. Investigators can now compare those answers with original calendars, travel records, hotel security records, and the full estate image sequence.
The Gates Foundation’s July 2026 statement said its external review found no evidence that Epstein was paid by the Foundation or that the Foundation participated in or knew of his sex trafficking activity. It also confirmed that meetings focused on a proposed donor advised fund and another nonprofit engagement. Associated Press reporting noted that the full review was not released and that Gates’s personal communications were outside the reviewed material. Those limitations matter when comparing institutional findings with personal photographs.
Sleuth and Independent Reporting
Independent researchers add value when they preserve record numbers, compare image sequences, test dates against emails, and clearly separate fact from inference. They are most reliable when readers can follow a claim back to a primary record.

Getty Images and other photographers
Getty Images was reviewed for independently photographed images that might show Gates with Epstein or an identified survivor. No verified Getty editorial photograph located for this article shows Gates together with Epstein or an identified Epstein survivor. The Getty material located instead documents Gates’s later participation in the investigation.
Tom Brenner photographed Gates arriving and speaking to reporters before his June 10, 2026 House interview. Brenner also photographed Gates leaving the Rayburn House Office Building. These are independent editorial photographs by a named photographer. They are not Epstein estate files, do not show Epstein or a survivor, and should be used only to illustrate the congressional inquiry.
The Gates and Andrew image at HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_083584 may derive from public event photography, but the House version does not visibly supply an original credit. Until the event, date, photographer, and licensing chain are verified, it should be captioned as an estate produced image of Gates and Andrew, not as an Epstein authored photograph.
This separation protects the evidentiary record:
| Image origin | Correct credit form | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Estate image released by House | House Oversight Committee Democrats, from Jeffrey Epstein estate production | Government released copy of estate held material |
| Reuters distribution of House image | House Oversight Committee Democrats, handout via Reuters | Reuters transmitted the image but did not make the original photograph |
| Getty editorial image by Tom Brenner | Tom Brenner, Getty Images | Independently made press photograph of the 2026 congressional appearance |
| Unknown event photograph in estate files | Photographer unknown, produced by Epstein estate to House Oversight | Original authorship and acquisition remain unresolved |
Reliability and Limitations
The visual identification of Gates in the cataloged photographs is strong. He is a widely photographed public figure, the images were released as Gates related records, and Gates identified himself in the principal exhibits. The reliability of surrounding details varies.
| Claim | Reliability | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Gates appears in HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_050603 | High | Clear visual identification and sworn acknowledgment |
| Gates appears in HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_071978 | High | Clear visual identification and sworn acknowledgment |
| The same woman appears in both | High, but not absolute | Strong visual consistency in clothing, build, and context, with transcript treatment as the same person |
| The woman is Mila Antonova | Contradicted by current testimony | Gates expressly said she was not Antonova |
| HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_050603 was at Signature at National Airport | Moderate to high | Visible Signature sign plus Gates’s location identification |
| The corridor image followed the December 3, 2013 meeting | Moderate | Based on Gates’s recollection rather than attached timestamp metadata |
| HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_071978 followed the February 27, 2013 Four Seasons meeting | Moderate | Gates and questioners treated this as likely, but public hotel and camera records are absent |
| Epstein took the corridor image | Moderate to high | Direct sworn statement from a photographed participant, not confirmed by metadata |
| Epstein took the hotel image | Moderate | Gates answered that he thought Epstein did |
| The aircraft image depicts the admitted Newark to Palm Beach flight | Unproven | No confirmed date, aircraft identifier, or route attached to the public image |
| The photographs were used for blackmail | Unproven | No released threat connects these image files to a demand |
The House released only a small selection from a much larger photographic production. Selection can distort interpretation because adjacent images may identify a room, date, photographer, or additional participants. Researchers also lack a public forensic report describing hashing, duplicate detection, original directory structure, edit history, and metadata preservation.
Another limitation is retrospective memory. Gates was questioned about events roughly twelve to fifteen years after they occurred. His answers provide valuable leads, but they should be tested against contemporaneous records. Conversely, lack of memory is not proof that an event did not happen.
Survivor Safety and Privacy Review
The women whose faces were redacted should remain unidentified unless a verified public record and a strong public interest justify naming them. Their presence in Epstein’s files does not establish whether they were employees, friends, guests, witnesses, survivors, or people photographed without meaningful consent.
| Safety principle | Application to these records |
|---|---|
| Do not reverse identify redacted people | Avoid facial comparison, crowdsourced naming, and social media speculation |
| Do not infer age from appearance | Use “adult appearing” only as a limited visual description, not a legal finding |
| Do not infer victim status | Estate association alone does not establish that a person was trafficked or abused |
| Preserve redactions | Republish the congressional version unless a survivor has clearly chosen public identification |
| Center agency | If an identified survivor has spoken publicly, link to her own account where appropriate rather than treating her image as spectacle |
| Avoid sexualized captions | Describe pose, setting, and evidentiary relevance neutrally |
| Separate accountability from voyeurism | Focus on who created, stored, requested, and used photographs, not on scrutinizing women’s bodies |
The recurring practice described by Gates, in which Epstein asked powerful visitors to pose with women connected to him, deserves investigation. It does not justify exposing those women. Accountability should run toward the people who controlled the setting, the camera, the archive, and the institutional relationship.
No identified survivor is visible in the two principal public images. The absence of a public identification must be respected. It is also possible that the women were never victims. Careful reporting leaves that question open until reliable evidence answers it.
Why This Record Matters
These photographs make an otherwise abstract network tangible. They show Gates in settings that he later linked to meetings with Epstein, including an aviation facility and a hotel. They also led to specific sworn answers about date, place, photographer, and the role of women around Epstein.
The photographs matter for four reasons.
First, they corroborate access. Epstein was not merely invoking Gates’s name in emails. Gates acknowledged repeated meetings, a flight, dinners, and photographs created at Epstein’s request.
Second, they reveal documentation behavior. According to Gates, Epstein repeatedly requested photographs of him with assistants or other women. Investigators should ask whether Epstein used the same practice with other influential visitors, whether the files were organized by subject, and whether images were later deployed for social proof, reputation building, pressure, or simple personal collection.
Third, they demonstrate why provenance matters. The estate held private snapshots, photographs of framed images, aircraft photographs, and public event pictures. Treating the entire archive as one uniform class would produce false claims about who took a photograph or why Epstein had it.
Fourth, the images create audit points. The visible Signature sign, the likely Four Seasons room, the aircraft doorway, and the identified meeting dates can be compared with independent records. Photographic evidence becomes more powerful when it generates verifiable questions rather than sensational captions.
The record is also a warning about post-conviction elite access. Epstein’s Florida conviction was public before the Gates meetings. Whatever the ultimate purpose of each photograph, the surrounding history shows that a convicted sex offender continued to gain proximity to globally influential people and institutions.
