TerraMar Founding Citizens: Identity Audit, Spelling Disputes and 16 Records Requiring Verification

The original TerraMar Project homepage archived in July 2012 contains names with inconsistent later transcriptions, ambiguous identities, titles, and a jointly captioned portrait. An EpsteinWiki index is only useful if it links each name to the correct person and does not convert public promotion into an unverified assertion of knowing participation. This evidence audit identifies the records most likely to be mislinked or misrepresented.

Snapshot

Issue Scope
Archived founding portrait captions 84
Separately named founding people 85 because Jacqueline and Mortimer Sackler share a caption
Historical names needing special review 16 individual records in this audit
Primary standard Original archive spelling wins over unsourced reproductions
Identity proof Require independent person specific source before normalizing or creating an EpsteinWiki name link
Relationship proof Never assign an organization role, family relation, donation or offense by surname

Key Findings

The 85 person evidence register already preserves all names in original order. This page is the companion correction and uncertainty log. It does not create new people or replace an archived caption merely because a more famous person has a similar name.

Sixteen Records Requiring Special Identity Handling

Roster record Archival name or working identity Issue Required treatment
#3 Andrea Kerzner Name variation A later directory transcribes Andre, while the dated first party page says Andrea. Preserve the first party caption. Do not decide the discrepancy from a surname alone.
#6 Ben Shore Unresolved identity The 2012 page lists the name but no dependable identity match or occupation was verified. Do not infer a family connection from other Shore names.
#23 Edie Lutnick Relative name confusion Do not treat Edie Lutnick’s public appearance as evidence of Howard Lutnick’s citizenship or participation. Separate people and supporting documents.
#25 Francesca von Habsburg Later naming Later biographical sources describe Francesca Thyssen-Bornemisza. The exact relationship between names and the historical caption should be supported by a primary biographical record before any redirect.
#27 George Polk Unresolved identity A familiar surname is not a unique identifier. An exact person and period must be established before a biography is written.
#30 Isabella Vaughan Edwards Unresolved identity Neither the original caption nor a shared surname proves the person is identical to a TerraMar (UK) director or belongs to any particular family.
#31 Jacqueline Sackler Joint caption A single archived portrait caption named Jacqueline and Mortimer Sackler. This is one caption containing two people.
#32 Mortimer Sackler Joint caption This is the second individual counted from the shared original caption, not a second archived photograph.
#40 Johan Eliacsh Spelling discrepancy The original homepage spells the surname Eliacsh. Later sources often use Eliasch. Preserve the archival spelling until an independent identity check resolves it.
#41 Jonathan Soros Individual not family The original names Jonathan. It does not name George Soros or implicate a wider family or corporate philanthropy network.
#47 Lily Shore Unresolved identity Do not infer the relation of Lily Shore to Ben Shore or any other similarly named person.
#58 Nick Pritzker Individual not family This public listing names Nick, not Tom Pritzker. Do not merge them or assert a family wide involvement.
#62 Peter Roth Potential homonym No credible first party identity proof warrants changing this to Peter Thomas Roth. Keep the original name and mark the identity unresolved.
#66 Rob LoCascio Spelling discrepancy The first party caption uses LoCascio. Later copied research uses LeCascio. Retain the original and verify against dated records before changing.
#79 Thomas Vaughan Edwards Unresolved identity Do not attribute TerraMar (UK) director Catherine Vaughan-Edwards’s role, relatives or control to the person named here.
#84 Yuri Maxwell Malina Unresolved identity and kinship This distinctive name does not itself establish the precise familial relationship or any knowledge of the project finances or crimes.

The Joint Sackler Caption: How the Count Works

On the TerraMar first party source, Jacqueline and Mortimer Sackler are written together under one image. For an exhaustive people index, that caption yields two named individuals but only one original image entry. The 85 person count is therefore compatible with 84 image entries. A screenshot caption must not be converted into two separate original photographs, two passport files, or two independent endorsements without additional records.

Do Not Assume Family Connections

The 2012 page includes Edie Lutnick, Jonathan Soros, Nick Pritzker, several people with Shore or Vaughan Edwards surnames, and the individual names in the Sackler caption. A common surname may be an investigative search lead, but it is not a substitute for a birth certificate, a verified biography, a directly linked interview, or another reliable identifier. EpsteinWiki must not use a person’s surname to assign the conduct, career or criminal allegations of a different family member.

Display Name Versus Linked Profile

Where an established EpsteinWiki biography exists and the identity is correct, the name can link to that biography. For this founding roster, Peter Mandelson and Murray Gell-Mann were specifically matched to existing person profiles. Other names should remain plain text until the correct Wiki record is confirmed. A different person’s profile, a general search page, or an off site biography is not an acceptable substitute for a missing internal profile.

How to Verify a Suggested Correction

First record the exact historical caption and Wayback capture date. Next identify a contemporary primary source that uses the proposed modern name. Then compare distinct identifiers, such as professional role, documented employer, title, organization, photograph provenance or the person’s statement, avoiding purely photographic inference. Document the evidence trail in the relevant individual’s dossier before changing a working name or adding a redirect. Preserve the archived spelling in a quoted archival field even after the working identity is resolved.

Disputed Later Additions

Paolo Zampolli reports registering with the site in the recorded Bekah Day interview. Richard Branson is described by some later reporting as connected to TerraMar, with a spokesperson’s denial of an organizational role in later reporting. Neither appears in the original 85 names in the selected archive. These cases belong in a separate category for later or disputed claims, not added unqualified to the 2012 list.

What We Still Need

For ambiguous names, seek dated photographs only after their provenance is established, original organizational invitation emails, signed image-use consents, individually acknowledged biographies, archive captures from 2012 through 2019, and original EFTA references tied to the exact person. If no reliable match exists, an explicit unknown is the correct research result. This policy prevents accidental defamation and keeps the Wiki’s Names Index accurate.

Closing Finding

The original 85 name list is a strong historical document. Incorrectly identifying even one of those individuals, assigning an unrelated relative’s conduct, or inventing a missing passport would make the investigation less reliable. This audit is a permanent record of the cases where the Wiki needs caution instead of confidence.
