From Bear Stearns and an early introduction in England to decades of correspondence about opera, travel, staffing, and Epstein’s social circle.

Paula Heil Fisher knew Jeffrey Epstein before he became wealthy. They worked at Bear Stearns, dated, and remained in contact after their romantic relationship ended. In 1981, she introduced him to the Leese family in England, an encounter that helped him enter a wealthy international circle. Released emails show that their contact continued after Epstein’s 2008 conviction. Fisher arranged opera access, discussed visits to his properties, suggested people for his staff, and invited him to events involving her family.

Some of the later messages warrant particular scrutiny. In 2013, Fisher said she might have a candidate for Epstein’s “Paris girl concierge.” In 2014, while recommending a house manager, she referred to the women around him as his “pretties.” Those are Fisher’s documented words. The available messages do not establish the duties of the proposed candidate, that either person was hired, or that Fisher recruited anyone for sexual abuse. A separate 2013 introduction of a 21-year-old woman was made by conductor Frédéric Chaslin; Epstein described the woman to his assistant as a friend of both Chaslin and Fisher. Background and Identity

A 2003 Vanity Fair investigation identified Paula Heil Fisher as a former Bear Stearns colleague and former longtime girlfriend of Epstein who had become an opera producer. That identification predates the large public releases of Epstein’s correspondence. It helps connect the name in later emails with the person described in the earlier reporting. Vanity Fair

Her theatrical work is independently documented by the Broadway League’s Internet Broadway Database. It credits her as a producer of the 1994 revival of Damn Yankees and an associate producer of On the Waterfront in 1995. The Damn Yankees revival was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. The nomination was for the production; it should not be recast as an individual Tony nomination for Fisher. The released correspondence sometimes identifies her by her full name, sometimes as Paula Fisher, and sometimes through a device or account label. A match on “Paula” alone is insufficient to attribute an email to her. This page relies on records whose names, context, or related correspondence support the identification.

The Early Relationship and the Leese Introduction

Fisher and Epstein dated while connected to Bear Stearns. A 2025 New York Times investigation, drawing on interviews and archival material, reported that Fisher was a junior saleswoman there and that the couple traveled to England in 1981. Fisher brought Epstein to meet her acquaintance Nick Leese at the Leese family home. There Epstein met Nick’s father, defense contractor Douglas Leese.

Douglas Leese subsequently employed Epstein as a consultant and gave him access to meetings and social circles that Epstein had not previously occupied. This makes Fisher’s introduction consequential to the documented history of Epstein’s early career. It does not make her responsible for Epstein’s later conduct or establish that she knew what he would do with those connections. Vanity Fair reported in 2003 that Fisher remained close to Epstein after their relationship ended. That contemporary account establishes a continuing friendship by that date. The emails below document particular contacts in later years; they should not be used to fill every intervening year with assumed meetings.

Documented Connection After Epstein’s Conviction

Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida in 2008 to offenses including procuring a minor for prostitution. The correspondence reviewed here therefore concerns contact with a man whose conviction was already public. What Fisher knew about particular victims, locations, or conduct cannot be inferred simply from that public fact.

The later records show several kinds of interaction:

Arts and events: Fisher discussed opera performances, tickets, rehearsals, and an appearance by her daughter Miasha at The Box in New York.
Social access: Messages concern proposed meetings, visits, and invitations to Epstein.
Properties: Correspondence places Fisher in discussions about Epstein’s New Mexico ranch and his Paris address.
Staffing and introductions: Fisher proposed a “Paris girl concierge” candidate, recommended a house manager, and raised a possible business introduction.
Family contact: Epstein corresponded about opportunities and lodging for Fisher’s daughters. An offer in an email is not proof that a gift or meeting occurred.

These categories matter because the evidence for a completed ranch visit is different from the evidence for a proposed hire or a nightclub reservation.

Chronology

1981: England and the Leese family

Fisher introduced Epstein to the Leese family during a trip to England, according to the New York Times investigation. Douglas Leese’s subsequent consulting relationship with Epstein is separately described in that reporting. The introduction belongs to Epstein’s early financial and social history, decades before the later email archive. The New York Times

2003: A relationship reported in real time

Vanity Fair described Fisher as one of Epstein’s former longtime girlfriends who remained close to him. It also identified her Bear Stearns and opera connections. Vanity Fair

2009: Family plans and offers

In EFTA00774264: Peggy Siegal’s April 2009 equestrian safari planning email, Siegal told Epstein she had exchanged messages with Fisher and another organizer about an “Equestrian Safari” involving Miasha. The email records planning; it does not, by itself, establish the trip’s outcome.

In EFTA01820082: Epstein’s December 2009 offer of lodging and a Jaguar for Miasha, Epstein asked whether Miasha wanted to stay in an apartment or a guest room and said she could use an extra Jaguar. The document establishes the offer, not that she accepted either arrangement. Yirah.fi

Rolling Stone later reported emails in which Epstein suggested that Fisher bring her daughters to encounter music executive Tommy Mottola and gave Fisher clothing instructions for one daughter. The publication said there was no indication Fisher followed those instructions or that the meeting took place. It also reported that neither Fisher nor her daughters had made allegations against Epstein or Mottola and that they did not respond to its requests for comment. August 2012: Santa Fe Opera and Zorro Ranch

EFTA01875037: Fisher’s August 2 opera ticket and rehearsal exchange shows her discussing Tosca tickets for Epstein’s group and a possible rehearsal visit. EFTA02162656: Staff email concerning six Tosca tickets says Fisher purchased tickets for him. Related messages address how the tickets would be collected and distributed. These are arts and event arrangements, not evidence of a flight manifest or of every proposed attendee’s presence. Epstein Exposed

EFTA01875347: Fisher and Epstein’s August 2012 ranch visit planning chain discusses transportation and timing for a visit involving Fisher and Chaslin. A subsequent first-person message from Chaslin, EFTA02558439: Chaslin’s post-visit thanks for Zorro Ranch, thanks Epstein for opening the ranch to him and says Fisher had been there before. Together, the planning chain and later account support a visit by Chaslin and Fisher in August 2012 and at least one earlier ranch visit by Fisher as reported by Chaslin. They do not identify everyone who was present or what happened throughout the visits. Epstein Files Research Database

In EFTA01890409: Fisher’s August 23 message about Chaslin’s opera position, Fisher expressed distress over Chaslin’s departure from the Santa Fe Opera and discussed his final Tosca performance. Epstein answered that she had done the right thing. The exchange demonstrates that she discussed a personal and professional matter with Epstein; it does not establish that he caused the departure. April and September 2013: Scheduling and Paris staffing

EFTA01897080: April 4 schedule listing Fisher and Chaslin includes a “TBD” entry for Fisher and Chaslin. The same schedule separately lists a dinner with Ehud Barak, Peter Mandelson, Jes Staley, Mort Zuckerman, Woody Allen, and others. Fisher’s tentative entry is not proof that she attended that dinner. Chaslin later thanked Epstein for an evening in which he met Allen, but his thank-you message does not independently place Fisher at the dinner table. Epstein Exposed

On September 3, Fisher wrote that she and someone with her might have a candidate for Epstein’s “Paris girl concierge.” The message appears in EFTA00969138: Fisher’s proposed Paris concierge candidate. The wording and Epstein’s known abuse of women make the proposed role an appropriate subject for investigation. The message does not identify the candidate, describe her duties, show that she met Epstein, or establish that she was hired. A concierge can perform ordinary logistical work; the unusual phrase should be preserved and investigated rather than assigned a proven sexual meaning the record does not supply. Epstein Exposed

Later that month, Chaslin sent Epstein details of a 21-year-old woman he proposed for Epstein’s Paris stay. EFTA01959880: Chaslin’s September 12 introduction and Epstein’s response contains the proposal. In EFTA01960181: Epstein’s instruction to Groff to arrange a call, Epstein called the woman a friend of “Paula and Fred Chaslin.” That description establishes what Epstein told his assistant; it does not show Fisher supplied the woman’s details or consented to the introduction. 2014: House manager, Paris address, business introduction, and The Box

In EFTA01927588: Fisher’s April 19 house manager recommendation, Fisher recommended a man who had managed an estate. She described him as discreet and capable and added that Epstein could still have his “pretties” while employing a professional. Epstein asked for the man’s details. The email shows Fisher’s familiarity with the presence of women in Epstein’s circle and her willingness to discuss staffing around them. It does not establish who those women were, their ages, what Fisher knew about their experiences, or that the proposed manager was employed. Epstein Exposed

EFTA00688770: May 2014 Paris visit and address exchange contains a discussion about seeing Epstein in Paris and Fisher’s question about whether his address was 22 Avenue Foch. It places her in Paris planning and shows familiarity with the address. A proposed time in an email should not be counted as a completed visit without corroboration. Yirah.fi

In EFTA02717864: Fisher’s August 10 proposed business introduction, she said she had met Yehuda Zisapel in Israel, expected to dine with him, and asked Epstein whether he saw any business opportunity. She also offered to organize his New York dinners and meetings. This establishes her offer and her account of meeting Zisapel. It does not establish a completed Epstein–Zisapel meeting, transaction, or intelligence relationship. Copies of the same email under other EFTA identifiers are not separate introductions. EFTA01749165: Fisher’s November 17 invitation to Miasha’s performance invites Epstein to The Box. Fisher referred to his “young crowd” and “babes” while suggesting a table. Those words are relevant to how she described his companions, but the email does not identify them or establish their ages. EFTA01002072: December 1 VIP and guest-count planning shows Fisher and Lesley Groff working through the guest list, and Epstein agreeing to attend with two others. EFTA02090681: Staff message explaining the “Jeffrey Edwards” VIP listing says Fisher would list him as “Jeffrey Edwards” because another Epstein was expected and she wanted to avoid confusion. March 2016: Continued contact

EFTA02469336: Fisher’s March 2016 message about her daughters’ SXSW performances invites Epstein to see both daughters perform in Austin, Texas, and suggests they catch up. The invitation documents continuing contact. It does not establish that Epstein traveled to Austin or attended the performances. The Paris Staffing Messages and Chaslin’s Separate Introduction

The 2013 “Paris girl concierge” email and the 2014 “pretties” email are the most consequential direct Fisher messages examined for this page. The first documents an unidentified possible candidate. The second documents a recommendation for a male estate manager made with an explicit reference to women in Epstein’s circle. Neither message gives a job description for the first candidate or identifies the women in the second.

An Epstein Exposed investigation interprets these messages as part of a procurement system involving Fisher and Chaslin. Le Canard enchaîné also reported on Fisher and proposed young assistants. Those are published characterizations and allegations, not findings established by the two emails alone. The stronger conclusion would require evidence about the candidate’s identity and duties, what Fisher knew about Epstein’s abuse, subsequent contact, and the experience of any woman involved. Chaslin’s proposal concerning the 21-year-old woman is separately documented. Epstein’s description of her as a friend of Fisher and Chaslin does not make Fisher the author of Chaslin’s email. Chaslin has publicly said he was seeking a translator for sightseeing, an explanation that must be attributed to him and considered alongside the wording of the released messages. Fisher’s Family and Epstein’s Offers

The record includes Epstein’s offers concerning Fisher’s daughters and their entertainment ambitions. The clearest example in the linked EFTA material is the December 2009 apartment and Jaguar offer. Rolling Stone documented a separate episode in which Epstein proposed a meeting with Tommy Mottola and tried to dictate a daughter’s appearance. The publication found no indication Fisher complied or that the meeting occurred. It reported no allegation by Fisher or her daughters against Epstein or Mottola.

The daughters’ own experiences and choices should not be inferred from plans made by Epstein or messages written by others. Their presence in correspondence is relevant to understanding how Epstein offered access and favors through entertainment contacts; it does not license claims that either daughter accepted an offer or was involved in his crimes. Allegations, Responses, and Legal Status

The released messages raise questions about Fisher’s awareness of the women around Epstein and the purpose of his staffing requests. The words “Paris girl concierge” and “pretties” are documented. Whether Fisher knew about specific abuse, arranged an abusive encounter, or participated in trafficking is not established by the records reviewed here.

The Epstein Exposed investigation alleges a more organized procurement role for Fisher and Chaslin. Its interpretation goes beyond what the cited Fisher emails directly prove. The same investigation incorrectly treats a tentative April 2013 Fisher calendar entry as proof she attended the separately listed prominent dinner. No criminal charge, adjudicated finding, or identified victim allegation against Fisher was found in the sources reviewed for this article. No substantive public response from Fisher to the 2026 reporting was located in those sources. That is a description of the reviewed material, not a definitive claim about every proceeding or statement that may exist. Chaslin’s statements about his own 2013 introduction should not be presented as Fisher’s response.

The questions matter because Epstein drew on established relationships for access to homes, cultural institutions, staff, introductions, and young people seeking opportunities. Investigating that pattern requires the accounts of people affected by his abuse and careful examination of what each participant actually did. It does not justify assigning a criminal role from proximity or a suggestive phrase alone.

What did Fisher know about Epstein’s abuse when she wrote the staffing and event messages?
Do additional dated emails establish when Fisher and Epstein last had direct contact?
Are there first-person accounts from women affected by any introduction or employment arrangement discussed in this correspondence? Their privacy and wishes should guide publication of identifying details.
