Jeffrey Epstein and Hollywood: The Film Industry Network
Jeffrey Epstein’s connections to Hollywood extended beyond celebrity dinners and photographs with famous people. Released records document relationships with directors, producers, publicists, actors and entertainment executives. They also document Epstein seeking access to movie sets and unfinished films, watching films being edited, discussing film financing and entertainment projects, attempting to connect people with production opportunities, and being approached by others who believed he could open doors inside the entertainment industry.
The records reveal something more significant than a celebrity contact list. They document a network through which money, social access, introductions, film employment, production access, aspiring performers and cultural prestige moved in multiple directions.
Being acquainted with Epstein, visiting one of his homes, appearing in his correspondence or accepting an introduction from him does not establish knowledge of or participation in his crimes. This investigation therefore separates documented interactions from survivor accounts, disputed allegations and unresolved leads.
What emerges from the records is evidence that Epstein possessed something valuable in Hollywood: access.
Snapshot
Epstein maintained a substantial relationship with filmmaker Woody Allen and Soon Yi Previn. The records document access to Allen’s unfinished films, editing process and production environment. Evidence: EFTA02155283, EFTA00336102, EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242.
Other people believed Epstein could provide professional access to Allen. Brad Karp asked Epstein about helping his son David work on an Allen production. David subsequently communicated directly with Epstein about production work and sent material for Epstein to forward. Evidence: EFTA00698570–EFTA00698573.
Epstein maintained a years long relationship with producer Barry Josephson. Records place Josephson in Epstein’s Zorro Ranch schedule, document discussions about entertainment projects and production access, and preserve a substantial film investment proposal. Evidence: EFTA00344645–EFTA00344648, EFTA00446835, EFTA00596077 et seq., EFTA01193307.
Hollywood publicist Peggy Siegal offered Epstein access to awards season events and suggested filmmakers and cultural figures for his social network. Evidence: EFTA00666524–EFTA00666526, EFTA00690858–EFTA00690859.
Survivor Chauntae Davies has described Epstein introducing her to Harvey Weinstein. Her attorney Brad Edwards said that introduction led to an audition for Feast. Evidence classification: survivor account with supporting reporting. A primary EFTA record independently documenting the introduction has not been identified for this article.
Released material also documents connections involving producer Steve Tisch and director Brett Ratner. Ratner related records include photographs, communications and an Epstein email invoking Ratner’s planned Snow White project. Evidence: EFTA00245476, EFTA00245478, EFTA00251150, EFTA01815151, EFTA01830219, EFTA01832187 and EFTA01832434.
Survivor Juliette Bryant has described Michael Bay within her memories of Epstein’s world. Bay has disputed reporting connecting him to Epstein’s Virgin Islands property. Evidence classification: survivor reported and disputed in part. No primary EFTA record independently establishing Bay’s presence at Zorro Ranch or Little St. James has been identified for this article.
Epstein owned Zorro Ranch, where Annie Farmer testified under oath that she visited an old movie set during her 1996 trip. Producer Barry Josephson later discussed possible future New Mexico production with Epstein and wrote “At your ranch! ;)” Evidence: United States v. Maxwell, Trial Day 10, Document 759; EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961.
No evidence located for this investigation establishes that a named commercially released feature film was actually filmed on property owned by Jeffrey Epstein.
That question remains open.
Evidence Classification Used in This Investigation
| Classification | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Documented | Supported by contemporaneous email, calendar, financial, photographic, court or other primary evidence |
| Sworn testimony | Statement made under oath in court or deposition |
| Corroborated account | Witness or survivor account supported by additional evidence |
| Reported | Credible reporting for which the underlying primary record has not yet been independently identified |
| Disputed | Claim specifically challenged or denied by the person involved |
| Unverified | Investigative lead requiring additional evidence |
| No evidence found | Claim investigated but not supported by evidence located for this article |
This distinction is necessary because the Hollywood evidence ranges from contemporaneous emails and schedules to survivor recollections and disputed reporting.

A Network Built Around Reciprocal Access
Peggy Siegal offered Epstein access to elite entertainment events and potential filmmaker contacts. Evidence: EFTA00666524–EFTA00666526, EFTA00690858–EFTA00690859.
Barry Josephson’s records document discussions involving entertainment projects, investment material and Epstein’s properties. Evidence: EFTA00596077 et seq., EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961, EFTA01193307.
Other people sought Epstein’s help because they believed his entertainment relationships could produce professional access. Brad and David Karp’s correspondence concerning Woody Allen provides a direct example. Evidence: EFTA00698570–EFTA00698573.
This does not prove a coordinated criminal operation inside Hollywood.
It establishes a recurring exchange of access.
Peggy Siegal: A Hollywood Gateway
In February 2011 Epstein asked whether it was worthwhile arriving in Los Angeles early for Academy Awards weekend. Siegal responded with potential access to an Oscar ticket, the Vanity Fair party, Barry Diller’s lunch and a Jeffrey Katzenberg event. Evidence: EFTA00666524–EFTA00666526.
Epstein also asked Siegal about Anne Hathaway shortly before the Academy Awards. Siegal responded with information concerning Hathaway’s Oscar schedule and personal life. Evidence: EFTA00648390.
The records establish Siegal as an entertainment information and access point for Epstein.
Siegal’s Hollywood Contact Lists
In March 2013 Siegal supplied Epstein with suggestions for people who might attend a dinner. The list included Woody Allen, Barry Levinson, Bennett Miller and Danny Strong, alongside figures from journalism, finance and media. Evidence: EFTA00690858–EFTA00690859.
The evidence establishes that Siegal proposed these people as potential contacts.
It does not establish that every person on the list attended Epstein’s home or developed a relationship with him.
Private Director Events
In March 2012 Epstein communicated with Siegal about a planned director dinner and emphasized that there should be no press. Siegal assured him that the gathering was not publicly known. Evidence: EFTA00686296.
Related correspondence involving Woody Allen and cultural introductions shows Siegal discussing herself and Epstein as people capable of making introductions across social and generational networks. Evidence: EFTA01983417.
The records establish that Epstein participated in creating private environments where entertainment figures could intersect with his broader network.
Woody Allen: The Most Developed Film Connection
Epstein’s records document social meetings with Woody Allen, attempts to view unfinished films, access to Allen’s editing process, production related opportunities for people around Epstein and requests from third parties seeking Allen access through Epstein. Evidence: EFTA00314254, EFTA02155283, EFTA00336102, EFTA00994241, EFTA00698570–EFTA00698573.
An April 2013 schedule contains a reminder concerning Epstein taking Allen to MIT to meet Joi Ito. Evidence: EFTA00393126–EFTA00393128.
The relationship crossed from ordinary social contact into access to Allen’s professional filmmaking environment.
Epstein Wanted to See Allen’s Unfinished Movies
In November 2012 Epstein’s staff coordinated dinner involving Allen and Soon Yi while also asking about Epstein seeing the rough cut of Allen’s current movie. Evidence: EFTA02155283.
A December 2013 email again records Epstein asking whether he could view Allen’s new movie before public release. Evidence: EFTA00977993.
These records document Epstein seeking privileged access to Allen’s work before ordinary public release.
Epstein Watched Woody Allen Edit
In November 2015 Epstein’s staff contacted Allen’s office asking whether Allen was editing because Epstein wanted to watch. Allen’s assistant responded with time windows during which Epstein could come. Evidence: EFTA00336102.
A separate 2014 scheduling record notes Allen editing within Epstein’s daily schedule. Evidence: EFTA00997167.
The records place Epstein unusually close to Allen’s filmmaking process.
Film Set Access
Epstein repeatedly appears in primary records seeking or facilitating access to working productions.
Allen related correspondence documents background opportunities for people around Epstein. Evidence: EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242.
James Gray related correspondence documents Epstein seeking access to the Low Life set through Peggy Siegal. Evidence: EFTA01809727.
Barry Josephson related correspondence documents Epstein asking to visit Josephson’s working set. Evidence: EFTA00446835.
Film set access was therefore a recurring feature of Epstein’s entertainment relationships.
Irrational Man
On July 28, 2014, Allen’s production office told Epstein’s staff that three assistants could be placed in an exterior shot and supplied instructions concerning their arrival and wardrobe. Evidence: EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242.
Karyna Shuliak has been identified within the broader correspondence surrounding women associated with Epstein and the production.
The primary significance is the mechanism documented by the email: Epstein’s network requested production access and Allen’s production operation responded with a concrete background opportunity. Evidence: EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242.
Background acting itself is not evidence of criminal conduct.
Wonder Wheel
Released correspondence and reporting connect Epstein’s network with background work surrounding Wonder Wheel. Epstein asked Soon Yi whether women associated with him could appear as extras if Allen was filming at the beach, and subsequent correspondence concerned background work connected with the Coney Island production.
Evidence classification: released correspondence and supporting reporting. Exact primary EFTA range has not yet been independently verified for this article.
The significance is that Wonder Wheel represents another Allen production in which Epstein associated people appear around background or casting discussions.
Bobby Slayton and Allen’s Productions
Epstein’s September 2012 schedule includes dinner with Woody Allen, Soon Yi and actor and comedian Bobby Slayton. Evidence: EFTA00314254.
Additional records show Slayton seeking contact with Epstein and hoping another dinner involving Allen could be arranged. Evidence: EFTA00351443.
Slayton later appeared in Allen projects including Wonder Wheel and Crisis in Six Scenes.
The Epstein records establish social overlap. They do not establish that Epstein obtained Slayton’s acting roles.
A Rainy Day in New York
Released correspondence and reporting have raised questions about Epstein attempting to connect an aspiring performer with Allen’s casting operation during the period preceding A Rainy Day in New York.
The evidence currently assembled for this article is less complete than the primary correspondence surrounding Irrational Man. Until the underlying EFTA records are independently identified and matched, this connection should not be presented at the same evidentiary level.
Evidence classification: Reported from released correspondence. Exact primary EFTA evidence ID pending verification.
The broader pattern is independently documented elsewhere. Epstein repeatedly represented himself as someone capable of providing access to Allen’s professional environment. Evidence: EFTA00698570–EFTA00698573, EFTA00703905 and EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242.
David Karp: People Believed Epstein Could Open Hollywood Doors
In 2016 attorney Brad Karp asked Epstein whether his recently graduated son David might work on an upcoming Woody Allen production. Epstein replied that he would ask. Evidence: EFTA00698570–EFTA00698573.
David subsequently told Epstein he would be interested in virtually any position on an Allen set, including production assistant work, assisting Allen or working with assistant directors or cinematographers. He later sent Epstein filmmaking material so Epstein could forward it to Allen’s production team. Evidence: EFTA00698570–EFTA00698573.
The correspondence establishes that people outside Epstein’s household perceived him as capable of opening professional doors inside Allen’s production operation.
David later sent Epstein a list titled “Twenty Questions for Woody Allen” and thanked Epstein for arranging what Karp described as a once in a lifetime meeting. Epstein told him to select his best questions. Evidence: EFTA00703905.
The Karp records therefore document both the perception that Epstein possessed access to Allen and an instance in which that access produced an encounter.
Barry Josephson: Producer, Associate and Potential Business Partner
Producer Barry Josephson is one of the most extensively documented Hollywood figures in Epstein’s records.
The correspondence spans years. A 2017 exchange is preserved in EFTA01036565, while a 2018 message from Josephson asking Epstein where he was appears in EFTA02603479.
The broader record connects Josephson with Epstein through employment discussions, film projects, production sets, investment material and Zorro Ranch. Evidence: EFTA00905234, EFTA00344645–EFTA00344648, EFTA00596077 et seq., EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961, EFTA00446835 and EFTA01193307.
Epstein Asked Josephson About Women in Their Early Twenties
In February 2011 Epstein asked Josephson whether he knew women in their early twenties who might want to become an assistant.
Josephson suggested a woman who had worked for him on two movies and described her appearance, work and discretion in sexualized terms. Evidence: EFTA00905234.
The record establishes that Epstein used a professional film producer as a potential source for young adult women who might enter his employment network.
The document does not establish what subsequently happened to the woman discussed.
Barry Josephson at Zorro Ranch
Josephson’s relationship extended directly to Epstein’s Zorro Ranch.
Epstein’s August 2015 itinerary contains the entry “TBD Barry Josephson at the Ranch.” The entry appears during Epstein’s scheduled travel to Zorro. Evidence: EFTA00344645–EFTA00344648.
This is important because Josephson’s connection to Zorro was not limited to a later comment about potentially filming there. Epstein’s contemporaneous schedule records a planned Josephson meeting at the ranch.
Edge
Josephson executive produced the Western pilot Edge, which filmed in New Mexico. Epstein later asked Josephson about the reception to Edge, immediately before Josephson discussed returning to New Mexico for future production. Evidence: EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961.
No evidence located for this investigation establishes that Edge itself filmed at Zorro Ranch.
The documented connection is narrower. Epstein knew about the production, asked Josephson about its reception, and then received Josephson’s message concerning future New Mexico production.
“At Your Ranch!”
On December 19, 2015, Josephson told Epstein that his team was writing three series scripts and expected to return to New Mexico to shoot between June and September. Evidence: EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961.
Josephson then added:
“At your ranch! ;)”
Evidence: EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961.
This is direct documentary evidence that using Epstein’s ranch as a future production location was contemplated or joked about between Epstein and a working Hollywood producer.
It is not evidence that filming ultimately occurred there.
No production permit, location agreement, call sheet or completed production identified for this investigation proves that a commercial production actually shot at Zorro.
Josephson Continued Discussing Epstein’s Ranch
In February 2016 Josephson and Epstein exchanged messages concerning the sale of the Waggoner Ranch in Texas. Josephson said he had spent considerable time at King Ranch and compared it with Epstein’s property, telling him “Not as nice as yours!!!” Evidence: EFTA02470217–EFTA02470218.
The exchange provides additional evidence that Josephson was familiar with Epstein’s ranch environment.
Epstein Visiting Josephson’s Set
In March 2017 Lesley Groff contacted Josephson because Epstein wanted to visit his working set. Josephson began coordinating around production schedules and weather. Evidence: EFTA00446835.
The same correspondence involved an invitation for Josephson to dine with Woody Allen and Soon Yi at Epstein’s Manhattan residence. Evidence: EFTA00446835.
The document captures the network unusually well:
Epstein residence → Woody Allen → Barry Josephson → working production set.
Epstein and Josephson Discussed a Woody Allen Entertainment Project
Epstein and Josephson discussed potential commercial entertainment involving Woody Allen.
An August 2015 exchange considered how an Allen performance or related project could be packaged, filmed and distributed. HBO, Netflix, Amazon, Apple and Sony Pictures Classics entered the discussion. Evidence: EFTA01193307.
The correspondence places Epstein inside discussions about developing and monetizing entertainment rather than merely attending films or socializing with filmmakers.
The Josephson Animation Investment Proposal
A lengthy investment presentation for a proposed Barry Josephson animation company is preserved in Epstein’s files. Evidence: EFTA00596077 et seq..
The presentation described Josephson’s entertainment career, prospective animated films, financing assumptions, industry relationships and potential investor returns. Evidence: EFTA00596077 et seq..
Its presence in Epstein’s records establishes that a substantial entertainment investment opportunity reached Epstein or his network.
It does not establish that Epstein ultimately invested in the venture.
Harvey Weinstein and Chauntae Davies
Survivor Chauntae Davies has said Epstein introduced her to producer Harvey Weinstein.
Davies’s attorney Brad Edwards subsequently said the introduction contributed to Davies obtaining an audition for Feast. Davies ultimately appeared in the movie.
Evidence classification: Survivor account with supporting reporting. Primary EFTA record independently documenting the introduction has not been identified for this article.
The available evidence does not establish that Weinstein participated in Epstein’s trafficking operation.
Davies’s account nevertheless describes a concrete pathway:
Epstein → Hollywood producer introduction → audition → commercial film appearance.
Independent primary records elsewhere establish Epstein facilitating entertainment access for other people. Evidence: EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242 and EFTA00698570–EFTA00698573.
Steve Tisch and Aspiring Actresses
Producer Steve Tisch appears in released Epstein correspondence involving women and social introductions.
The detailed Tisch claims should remain limited until each underlying EFTA exchange is independently matched and linked.
Evidence classification: Documented correspondence. Exact EFTA ranges for detailed exchanges require verification.
Tisch has characterized his association with Epstein as brief and has expressed regret concerning it.
No evidence identified for this investigation establishes that Tisch participated in Epstein’s trafficking operation or knew Epstein was abusing minors.
Brett Ratner
Director and producer Brett Ratner appears in released Epstein material through photographs, communications and overlapping social networks.
Released files contain photographs showing Ratner with Epstein and women whose faces were redacted. Evidence: EFTA00245476, EFTA00245478 and EFTA00251150.
The photographs establish physical presence at the same gathering. They do not establish criminal activity or the identities or ages of the redacted women.
In June 2010 Epstein told a young woman that Ratner was going to make a large Snow White production and suggested photographing her wearing a Snow White costume. Evidence: EFTA01815151.
The document does not establish that Ratner knew Epstein made the suggestion, requested photographs or participated in the proposed photography.
Additional records indicate attempts by Epstein’s office to reach Ratner or his representatives. Evidence: EFTA01830219, EFTA01832187 and EFTA01832434.
Ratner also appears in St. Barths social material preserved in the released files. Evidence: EFTA01792909, EFTA01830988 and EFTA02010594.
Peggy Siegal later wrote Epstein from Cannes while sitting beside Ratner and relayed a friendly greeting from Ratner to Epstein. Evidence: EFTA02014566 and related duplicate records.
Ratner has disputed characterizations suggesting a substantive personal relationship with Epstein. Nothing located for this investigation establishes that Ratner participated in Epstein’s criminal conduct.
Evidence classification: Documented Hollywood association. No evidence located establishing participation in Epstein’s crimes.
Michael Bay and Juliette Bryant
Michael Bay requires a different evidentiary treatment because the strongest connection currently comes from survivor Juliette Bryant rather than the extensive primary correspondence found with Allen, Josephson or Siegal.
Bryant has described encountering Bay through Epstein and has recalled him in connection with Epstein’s New Mexico world.
She has also described watching Bay’s 1996 movie The Rock while at Zorro Ranch.
That does not establish that The Rock was filmed at Zorro Ranch.
No primary EFTA document independently establishing Bay’s presence at Zorro has been identified for this article.
Bay has disputed reporting connecting him with Epstein’s Virgin Islands property.
Bryant does not accuse Bay of sexually assaulting her.
Evidence classification: Survivor reported connection, disputed in part, documentary corroboration incomplete.
James Gray and Low Life/The Immigrant
In January 2012 Epstein asked Peggy Siegal to help get “Eva” onto the New York set of James Gray’s Low Life, later released as The Immigrant. Evidence: EFTA01809727.
Siegal responded that Mattie Siegal was already working as a production assistant in the art department, identified producer Greg Shapiro and discussed facilitating access. Evidence: EFTA01809727.
This provides a set access example independent of Woody Allen.
The documented mechanism was:
Epstein request → entertainment intermediary → working production → access for another person.
Greg Shapiro
Producer Greg Shapiro appears in the Low Life/The Immigrant correspondence because Peggy Siegal identified him while discussing the production with Epstein. Evidence: EFTA01809727.
The record establishes a documented mention within a production access discussion.
It does not by itself establish a substantive personal relationship between Shapiro and Epstein.
Daniela Taplin Lundberg and Film Financing
Producer Daniela Taplin Lundberg has surfaced in research concerning Epstein’s broader film financing environment.
The primary Epstein correspondence necessary to establish the exact nature of that connection has not been sufficiently identified for this article.
Evidence classification: Investigative lead requiring further primary documentation.
No EFTA number should be assigned until the underlying document is verified.
Barry Levinson, Bennett Miller and Danny Strong
Barry Levinson, Bennett Miller and Danny Strong appear in Peggy Siegal’s March 2013 list of people proposed in connection with an Epstein dinner. Evidence: EFTA00690858–EFTA00690859.
Their presence establishes that Siegal considered them potential contacts for Epstein.
It does not establish that each person attended Epstein’s home, developed a relationship with him or knew about his crimes.
They should therefore be classified as documented proposed contacts, not documented Epstein associates.
Entertainment Access as Social Currency
Epstein could seek private access to Woody Allen’s unfinished films. Evidence: EFTA02155283 and EFTA00977993.
He could seek access to Allen’s editing process. Evidence: EFTA00336102.
He could request production opportunities for people around him. Evidence: EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242.
He could seek access to another director’s working set through Peggy Siegal. Evidence: EFTA01809727.
He could discuss entertainment projects and possible production locations with Barry Josephson. Evidence: EFTA01193307 and EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961.
Other people recognized that access and sought it through Epstein. Evidence: EFTA00698570–EFTA00698573.
Together, these records support describing entertainment access as a form of social capital within Epstein’s network.
They do not establish that every use of that access was criminal.
Was Hollywood Access Used in Recruitment or Grooming?
The evidence supports investigating this question, but it does not support a blanket conclusion.
Epstein asked Barry Josephson about women in their early twenties who might work for him. Evidence: EFTA00905234.
Women associated with Epstein were offered background opportunities on an Allen production. Evidence: EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242.
Epstein invoked Brett Ratner’s planned Snow White project while communicating with a young woman. Evidence: EFTA01815151.
Chauntae Davies has separately described an Epstein introduction to Harvey Weinstein that she says led to an audition and film appearance. Evidence classification: Survivor account with supporting reporting. Primary EFTA record not identified.
Taken together, these facts justify investigating whether entertainment access sometimes functioned as an inducement, status signal or recruitment tool.
They do not establish that every entertainment opportunity was part of grooming or trafficking.
The Zorro Ranch Movie Set Mystery
Zorro Ranch presents the strongest unresolved filming location question in this investigation.
Three separate bodies of evidence must be kept distinct.
First, Annie Farmer testified under oath that she visited an old movie set during her 1996 trip to New Mexico. Evidence: United States v. Maxwell, Trial Day 10, Document 759.
Second, Epstein’s August 2015 schedule contains a planned meeting with Barry Josephson at the ranch. Evidence: EFTA00344645–EFTA00344648.
Third, Josephson subsequently discussed future New Mexico production with Epstein and wrote “At your ranch! ;)” Evidence: EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961.
None of these facts establishes that a named commercially released movie actually filmed on Epstein owned land.
Together, however, they make the film history of Zorro Ranch a legitimate investigative question.
Annie Farmer’s 1996 Testimony
During her sworn testimony at Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial, Farmer described the New Mexico property she visited in 1996. On cross examination, counsel specifically asked about “a movie set that you visited, an old movie set.” Farmer answered “Right.” Evidence: United States v. Maxwell, Trial Day 10, Document 759.
Farmer also testified about the smaller residence where she stayed and distinguished what she encountered in 1996 from the enormous Zorro residence familiar from later photographs. Evidence: United States v. Maxwell, Trial Day 10, Document 759.
Her testimony establishes that she remembered visiting an old movie set during the New Mexico trip.
It does not identify which production constructed or used the set.
It also does not conclusively establish the legal parcel on which the set stood.
Cerro Pelon and the Cook Movie Ranch
The Zorro question is complicated by established movie ranches in the surrounding New Mexico landscape.
Cerro Pelon Ranch, formerly associated with Cook Movie Ranch, is a documented New Mexico production property with a longstanding Western filming history.
That neighboring film history creates a possible explanation for references to an old movie set in the broader area.
But proximity is not evidence of ownership.
No primary evidence identified for this investigation establishes that the Cerro Pelon movie property was part of Epstein’s Zorro Ranch.
No primary evidence identified here establishes that productions filmed at Cerro Pelon should be attributed to Epstein’s property.
Evidence classification: Documented neighboring film property. Connection to Farmer’s 1996 movie set remains unverified.
San Cristobal Ranch
Independent research into released Epstein imagery has raised a second geographic lead involving an Old West filming environment associated with San Cristobal Ranch.
The primary evidence necessary to establish the exact relationship between those images, Epstein’s property and San Cristobal has not been sufficiently verified for this article.
Researchers therefore need to distinguish carefully among Zorro Ranch, Cerro Pelon or Cook Movie Ranch, San Cristobal Ranch, neighboring private ranches and any state leased acreage associated with ranch operations.
Evidence classification: Investigative geographic lead requiring additional primary documentation.
These locations should not be treated as interchangeable until historic parcel boundaries and specific images are geolocated.
What We Can Say About Filming at Zorro
The evidence establishes that Annie Farmer testified under oath to visiting an old movie set during her 1996 New Mexico trip. Evidence: United States v. Maxwell, Trial Day 10, Document 759.
The evidence establishes that Barry Josephson was scheduled to meet Epstein at the ranch in August 2015. Evidence: EFTA00344645–EFTA00344648.
The evidence establishes that Josephson later discussed returning to New Mexico for production and wrote “At your ranch! ;)” Evidence: EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961.
The evidence does not establish that Edge filmed at Zorro Ranch.
It does not establish that Michael Bay filmed there.
It does not establish that The Rock filmed there.
It does not establish that productions associated with Cerro Pelon filmed on Epstein owned land.
It does not identify the production associated with the movie set Farmer remembered.
The responsible conclusion is:
A movie set is documented through sworn testimony, and later commercial production at Zorro was contemplated. A named commercial production filmed on Epstein owned Zorro property has not yet been established.
Epstein’s Manhattan Townhouse as a Hollywood Social Hub
Epstein’s 9 East 71st Street Manhattan townhouse functioned as an important physical node in the entertainment network.
The March 2017 Josephson correspondence documents Epstein inviting Josephson to dinner with Woody Allen and Soon Yi at Epstein’s home while simultaneously seeking access to Josephson’s working set. Evidence: EFTA00446835.
Other Allen scheduling records document repeated social overlap between Epstein, Allen and Soon Yi. Evidence: EFTA00314254 and EFTA02155283.
Peggy Siegal’s correspondence separately documents her role in supplying entertainment contacts and private social opportunities to Epstein. Evidence: EFTA00666524–EFTA00666526 and EFTA00690858–EFTA00690859.
The evidence supports describing the Manhattan residence as a location where Epstein’s entertainment relationships intersected with his wider social network.
It does not establish that every guest knew about Epstein’s crimes.
Little St. James and the Film Industry Network
Little St. James occupies a different place in this investigation from Zorro Ranch.
Epstein acquired Little St. James through L.S.J., LLC in 1998. Released records identify Epstein with the entity, and later records document the island’s transfer to Nautilus, Inc. Evidence: EFTA00031702–EFTA00031703.
Released litigation and construction records document extensive design and development of the island compound. Evidence: EFTA00308279 and EFTA00585825.
Those records establish a developed private residential compound.
They do not establish commercial film production.
No primary evidence identified for this investigation establishes that Woody Allen filmed a movie on Little St. James.
No primary evidence identified here establishes that Barry Josephson filmed a production there.
No primary evidence establishes that The Rock, Irrational Man, Wonder Wheel, Crisis in Six Scenes, A Rainy Day in New York, Edge, Feast or The Immigrant filmed on Little St. James.
Evidence classification: No commercial production identified.
Michael Bay and Little St. James
The most prominent film industry allegation involving Little St. James concerns Michael Bay.
Juliette Bryant has described Bay within her account of Epstein’s social world. Some reporting has connected that account with Epstein’s island.
Bay has disputed claims that he visited Epstein’s Virgin Islands property.
No primary EFTA record independently establishing Bay’s presence on Little St. James has been identified for this article.
Accordingly, EpsteinWiki should not state as established fact that Bay visited the island.
Evidence classification: Survivor reported and disputed. Primary documentary corroboration of a Little St. James visit not located.
Great St. James and the Film Industry Question
Great St. James became part of Epstein’s USVI property network after Little St. James.
No commercially released feature film or television production has been identified in the evidence reviewed for this investigation as having filmed on Great St. James during Epstein’s ownership.
Evidence classification: Epstein property documented. Commercial film production not established.
The property should therefore not currently be described as a Hollywood filming location.
Palm Beach and the Entertainment Network
Epstein’s Palm Beach residence was one of his major properties and became central to the criminal investigation of his abuse.
No evidence identified for this Hollywood investigation establishes that Woody Allen, Barry Josephson, Brett Ratner, Michael Bay or another filmmaker discussed in this article shot a commercial production at the Palm Beach residence.
Evidence classification: Major Epstein property. Commercial Hollywood filming not established.
Its relevance to this investigation lies in Epstein’s wider network of private residences rather than documented commercial production.
Paris and the Film Industry Network
Epstein maintained a Paris residence, and his documented relationship with Woody Allen extended beyond New York socializing.
The current Hollywood evidence establishes international social overlap involving Epstein and Allen but does not establish that Allen filmed a commercial production inside Epstein’s Paris residence.
Evidence classification: Documented social relationship. Epstein property filming not established.
Epstein Properties and Hollywood: Evidence Summary

What the Evidence Shows
The primary evidence establishes that Epstein had access to Woody Allen’s professional filmmaking environment, including unfinished film and editing related access. Evidence: EFTA02155283, EFTA00977993 and EFTA00336102.
It establishes that Allen’s production operation offered background placement for three Epstein assistants. Evidence: EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242.
It establishes that other people sought Epstein’s help because they believed he could provide access to Allen. Evidence: EFTA00698570–EFTA00698573 and EFTA00703905.
It establishes that Peggy Siegal offered Epstein entertainment access and proposed filmmakers as potential social contacts. Evidence: EFTA00666524–EFTA00666526 and EFTA00690858–EFTA00690859.
It establishes that Epstein asked Barry Josephson about young adult women who might work for him. Evidence: EFTA00905234.
It establishes that Josephson was scheduled at Zorro Ranch and subsequently discussed future New Mexico production at Epstein’s ranch. Evidence: EFTA00344645–EFTA00344648 and EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961.
It establishes that Epstein sought access to Josephson’s working set while inviting Josephson to dinner with Woody Allen and Soon Yi. Evidence: EFTA00446835.
It establishes that Epstein and Josephson discussed an entertainment project involving Allen. Evidence: EFTA01193307.
It establishes that a substantial Josephson animation investment proposal was preserved in Epstein’s files. Evidence: EFTA00596077 et seq..
It establishes that Epstein sought access to James Gray’s Low Life/The Immigrant production through Peggy Siegal. Evidence: EFTA01809727.
It establishes that Annie Farmer testified under oath to visiting an old movie set during her 1996 New Mexico trip. Evidence: United States v. Maxwell, Trial Day 10, Document 759.
Taken together, the records establish an entertainment network built around access to people, productions, private events, professional opportunities and potential financing.
What the Evidence Does Not Show
The evidence reviewed for this investigation does not establish that Hollywood as an industry participated in Epstein’s trafficking operation.
It does not establish that every filmmaker, actor, producer, publicist or entertainment executive who interacted with Epstein knew about his crimes.
It does not establish that Woody Allen participated in Epstein’s abuse.
It does not establish that Barry Josephson participated in Epstein’s abuse.
It does not establish that Brett Ratner participated in Epstein’s abuse.
It does not establish that Steve Tisch participated in Epstein’s abuse.
It does not establish that Harvey Weinstein participated in Epstein’s trafficking operation merely because Chauntae Davies described an introduction through Epstein.
It does not establish that Michael Bay filmed at Zorro Ranch.
It does not establish that Michael Bay visited Little St. James.
It does not establish that Edge filmed at Zorro Ranch.
It does not establish that The Rock filmed at Zorro Ranch.
It does not establish that the old movie set Annie Farmer remembered was the established Western set at Cerro Pelon.
It does not establish that a commercial film was shot on Little St. James.
It does not establish that a commercial film was shot on Great St. James.
It does not establish that Woody Allen filmed a commercial production at an Epstein residence.
It does not establish that Barry Josephson ultimately filmed at Zorro.
It does not establish that Epstein funded the Josephson animation venture merely because the investment proposal appears in his files.
These limitations are essential to interpreting the Hollywood evidence responsibly.

Open Investigative Questions
Several important questions remain unresolved.
What exact movie set did Annie Farmer visit in 1996?
Was the set physically inside Epstein’s deeded Zorro property, on acreage used operationally by the ranch or on neighboring property?
What production originally constructed or used it?
Do historical New Mexico Film Office records identify the set?
Do Santa Fe County building, assessor or permitting records document movie related structures on the property before or after Epstein acquired it?
Did Barry Josephson formally scout Zorro Ranch after discussing future production there? Evidence establishing the discussion: EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961.
What were the three television series Josephson expected to shoot in New Mexico?
Do location photographs, call sheets, insurance certificates or production agreements connect any Josephson project with Zorro Ranch?
Can the Wonder Wheel background performer correspondence be fully reconstructed and assigned precise EFTA identifiers?
Can the reported A Rainy Day in New York casting connection be matched to its underlying primary records?
Were additional women associated with Epstein placed as extras, performers or production workers?
Which casting and production personnel communicated directly with Epstein’s staff?
Did Epstein actually invest in any Josephson entertainment venture?
What additional film investment proposals exist within Epstein’s financial records?
Can Juliette Bryant’s account concerning Michael Bay be independently tested against Epstein’s schedules, photographs, flight records, telephone records or staff correspondence?
Which entertainment figures can be proven to have visited Epstein properties rather than merely appearing in address books, proposed guest lists or correspondence?
These remain appropriate questions for further document review.
Questions for Researchers and Sleuths
- Can the old movie set Annie Farmer described under oath be identified through photographs, historical maps or New Mexico production archives?
- Are pre 1993 photographs of the San Rafael or Zorro property available?
- Can researchers reconstruct the exact property and operational boundaries of Zorro Ranch in 1996?
- Do New Mexico Film Office archives contain location files for the property?
- Do Santa Fe County records identify Western set structures or film related construction?
- Did Josephson or one of his production companies formally scout Zorro after December 2015?
- Do call sheets, location agreements, insurance records or production photographs survive from the projects Josephson expected to shoot in New Mexico?
- What were Josephson’s three proposed series?
- Can Allen production records identify all three assistants discussed in the Irrational Man correspondence? Evidence establishing the background opportunity: EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242.
- Can the Wonder Wheel correspondence be fully reconstructed?
- Are there additional EFTA records in which Epstein seeks auditions, acting jobs, production work or set access for people around him?
- Can the complete Steve Tisch correspondence be identified and indexed?
- Can the Daniela Taplin Lundberg film financing lead be established or eliminated using primary records?
- Can Bay’s reported connection be corroborated or disproved using contemporaneous Epstein records?
- Can Peggy Siegal’s entertainment correspondence be cross referenced against Epstein’s calendars to reconstruct individual dinners and screenings?
Key Findings
Epstein had unusually close access to Woody Allen’s professional filmmaking environment. Primary records document requests involving unfinished films and Allen’s editing process. Evidence: EFTA02155283, EFTA00977993 and EFTA00336102.
Epstein could translate some of that access into opportunities for other people. Allen’s production office offered background placement to three Epstein assistants. Evidence: EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242.
People outside Epstein’s household recognized his Hollywood access. Brad and David Karp sought Epstein’s help accessing Allen’s production world. Evidence: EFTA00698570–EFTA00698573 and EFTA00703905.
Peggy Siegal functioned as a significant entertainment access intermediary. She offered Epstein access to Academy Awards weekend events and proposed filmmakers for his social network. Evidence: EFTA00666524–EFTA00666526 and EFTA00690858–EFTA00690859.
Barry Josephson’s relationship with Epstein extended across property, production and investment access. Josephson appears in Epstein’s Zorro schedule, discussed future production at the ranch, corresponded about an Allen entertainment project and supplied an investment proposal preserved in Epstein’s records. Evidence: EFTA00344645–EFTA00344648, EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961, EFTA01193307 and EFTA00596077 et seq..
Zorro Ranch has a genuine unresolved film history. Annie Farmer testified under oath about visiting an old movie set in 1996, while Josephson later discussed potential future production at Epstein’s ranch. Evidence: Maxwell Trial Day 10, Document 759; EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961.
No named commercial film has yet been established as having filmed on Epstein owned Zorro property. Josephson’s correspondence establishes contemplated future use, not completed production. Evidence: EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961.
Why the Hollywood Network Matters
Epstein’s entertainment relationships gave him access to environments that carried professional and social value.
Peggy Siegal could provide access to elite Hollywood events and filmmakers. Evidence: EFTA00666524–EFTA00666526 and EFTA00690858–EFTA00690859.
Woody Allen’s professional environment provided access to unfinished films, editing and production opportunities. Evidence: EFTA02155283, EFTA00336102 and EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242.
Barry Josephson provided another route into production, entertainment projects and potential film investment. Evidence: EFTA00446835, EFTA01193307 and EFTA00596077 et seq..
Brad and David Karp’s correspondence demonstrates that outsiders perceived Epstein himself as a source of entertainment industry access. Evidence: EFTA00698570–EFTA00698573.
The Hollywood network therefore matters not because Epstein happened to know celebrities, but because access to entertainment institutions and influential people could itself function as social currency.
Conclusion
Jeffrey Epstein’s Hollywood connections were more substantial than a collection of celebrity photographs.
The primary records document relationships involving filmmakers, producers, publicists, aspiring filmmakers, production personnel, movie sets, screenings, editing access, investment proposals and private residences.
Peggy Siegal offered Epstein access to elite entertainment events and proposed filmmakers for his social network. Evidence: EFTA00666524–EFTA00666526 and EFTA00690858–EFTA00690859.
Woody Allen’s professional world was unusually accessible to Epstein. Epstein sought access to unfinished films and editing, while people in Epstein’s orbit received or sought access to Allen productions. Evidence: EFTA02155283, EFTA00336102, EFTA00994241–EFTA00994242 and EFTA00698570–EFTA00698573.
Barry Josephson’s records add another dimension. Josephson appears in Epstein’s Zorro Ranch schedule, discussed entertainment projects with him, received requests for set access, supplied an investment proposal preserved in Epstein’s files and later discussed returning to New Mexico for production “At your ranch!” Evidence: EFTA00344645–EFTA00344648, EFTA00596077 et seq., EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961, EFTA01193307 and EFTA00446835.
Survivor accounts add another dimension that requires careful evidentiary treatment. Chauntae Davies has described an Epstein introduction to Harvey Weinstein that she says led to an audition and appearance in Feast. Juliette Bryant has described Michael Bay within her memories of Epstein’s world. Those accounts should be preserved as survivor accounts while remaining clearly distinguished from independently verified primary documentary evidence.
Zorro Ranch remains the largest unresolved filming question. Annie Farmer testified under oath about visiting an old movie set during her 1996 New Mexico trip, while Josephson’s later correspondence independently establishes that future production at Epstein’s ranch was discussed. Evidence: United States v. Maxwell, Trial Day 10, Document 759 and EFTA00667960–EFTA00667961.
The surrounding geography makes that question more complicated, not less. The Cerro Pelon Movie Ranch is an established Western production property in the Galisteo Basin. Its operators state that the ranch has been used for Western filmmaking since 1970 and that the Western town built for Silverado in 1984 was subsequently expanded for later productions. The Santa Fe Film Office separately lists both Cerro Pelon and San Cristobal as movie ranches. Those documented neighboring production properties should not be conflated with Epstein’s Zorro Ranch without parcel or production evidence establishing the connection.
What has not been established is equally important.
No evidence located for this investigation establishes that The Rock, Edge, Silverado or another identified commercial feature was filmed on Epstein owned Zorro Ranch property.
No evidence located establishes that Woody Allen filmed a commercial production at an Epstein residence.
No evidence located establishes that Barry Josephson ultimately filmed a production at Zorro Ranch.
No evidence located establishes a commercial Hollywood production on Little St. James or Great St. James.
The strongest conclusion is therefore narrower and more revealing:
Epstein possessed meaningful access to the film industry and repeatedly used, offered, requested and exchanged that access.
The Hollywood story is not ultimately about celebrity proximity.
It is about access as currency.
