Jeffrey Epstein’s Business Empire: Companies, Investments, Trusts, and Charities

Snapshot

Jeffrey Epstein’s financial network extended beyond the companies listed in his estate. It included earlier businesses, renamed corporations, property and aircraft companies, trusts, private investments, fund interests, and foundations. It also involved organizations he advised, companies in which he held shares, and charities that received grants. Those relationships are not interchangeable.

The verified estate inventory identifies 36 distinct entities and trusts in its ownership categories as of December 31, 2019. Earlier FirstBank account records, an internal entity schedule, and investment documents reveal additional names that the estate snapshot could not capture.

This index excludes Epstein’s former employers. It separates confirmed ownership, partial ownership, management, investment, charitable control, grantmaking, and financial counterparties. It is intended as a documented research index, not a claim that every transaction in every country has survived or been identified.

Key takeaways

  • The estate inventory lists 34 wholly owned entities, including nine classified as dormant or inactive, plus two 50 percent interests.
  • Financial Infomatics, Inc. became Southern Trust Company, Inc. They should be one corporate entry with a former name.
  • LSJ Employees, LLC became LSJE, LLC. It must not be counted twice.
  • J. Epstein Virgin Islands Foundation, Inc. used Enhanced Education as a trade name.
  • Additional earlier entities include Island Grounds, LCP Company, IGO Company, Lafayette Contractors, Financial Trust, and several insurance trusts.
  • A grant recipient, bank, fund manager, or seller of a security was not automatically an Epstein owned business.

How to Read the List

The relationship terms in this article have specific meanings.

TermWhat it establishes
Wholly ownedThe estate inventory or another ownership document attributes the full interest to Epstein.
Partial interestA document gives Epstein a percentage below 100.
Officer or directorEpstein held a corporate position; that does not alone establish beneficial ownership.
TrusteeEpstein had a stated role in administering a trust; its assets were not necessarily his personal property.
InvestmentHe or an associated vehicle held shares, a fund interest, or another financial position.
FinancingA documented loan or funding arrangement; equity cannot be assumed.
Grant recipientAn organization received or was reported to receive money from an Epstein linked foundation.
CounterpartyA bank, donor, buyer, contractor, or other party to a transaction.

The estate inventory cautions that its values were estimates and that subsidiaries were reported separately. Adding the rows without respecting those relationships can count the same underlying property twice.

The 36 Entities and Trusts in the Verified Estate Inventory

Wholly owned operating, transportation, and financial entities

The inventory’s company list names the following entities as wholly owned. The values are its December 31, 2019 estimates.

EntityValueRole established by the inventory or related records
LSJE, LLC$2,641,393Little Saint James operations and payroll
Freedom Air Petroleum, LLC$22,512Aviation related entity
Michelle’s Transportation, LLC$323,907Transportation and vessel related entity
L.S.J., LLC$6,400Earlier Little Saint James title holder
Zorro Management, LLC$0Zorro Ranch operating company
Neptune, LLC$0Operating entity whose complete assets required appraisal
NES, LLC$0Property expense and financial entity
Plan D, LLC$17,000,000Held a Gulfstream G550, pending appraisal
JEGE, LLC$0Aircraft related company
Hyperion Air, LLC$4,200,000Held Bell and Sikorsky helicopters, pending appraisal
Thomas World Air, LLC$25,000Aviation related company
LSJ Emergency, LLC$0Held assets awaiting appraisal
Southern Financial, LLC$176,961,338Investment and securities company
Lyn and Jojo, LLC$356,000Held residential real property and related rights
Great St. Jim, LLCIncluded through PoplarHeld Great Saint James
Southern Trust Company, Inc.$233,611,964Principal Virgin Islands financial company
Southern Country International, Ltd.$499,759Virgin Islands financial entity

LSJ Employees, LLC is the former name of LSJE, LLC. The company’s amended operating agreement records the name change in 2013. It is therefore an alias in this index, not a thirty seventh estate entity.

The inventory’s notes say that several companies valued at zero held other assets still awaiting appraisal. Zero on that schedule does not prove an entity was empty throughout its life.

Wholly owned property companies and trust

EntityValueDocumented connection
Poplar, Inc.$23,392,188owned by Poplar, Inc., which Epstein wholly owned.
Laurel, Inc.$13,814,238Held 358 El Brillo Way in Palm Beach
Maple, Inc.$56,257,200Held 9 East 71st Street in Manhattan
Cypress, Inc.$17,760,284Held Zorro Ranch in New Mexico
Nautilus, Inc.$63,292,637Held Little Saint James
FT Real Estate, Inc.$5,486,046Real estate company
Haze Trust$2,287,231Financial and securities trust
SCI JEP$9,842,122French company with the Paris property at 22 Avenue Foch

The inventory’s property descriptions identify the homes and islands associated with these companies. In the case of Great Saint James, Poplar owned Great St. Jim, which held title. Those are two legal entities but not two independently owned islands.

Two partial ownership interests

EntityEpstein’s recorded interestEvidence
IGY–AYH St. Thomas Holdings, LLC, doing business as American Yacht Harbor50 percentEstate inventory; value awaited appraisal
Prytanee, LLC50 percentEstate inventory; interest estimated at $700,000

Prytanee’s operating agreement identifies Southern Trust in the ownership structure. Later banking records describe Southern Trust and the Pierre Trust as holding the two halves. The estate’s percentage is an ownership interest, not proof that Epstein controlled the other half.

American Yacht Harbor was the operating name associated with IGY–AYH. It should not be counted as another company merely because both names appear.

Nine dormant or inactive wholly owned entities

The inventory’s dormant section names:

EntityDetail
CDE, Inc.Dormant or inactive
VT&T, LLCHeld an FCC license terminated after Epstein’s death
Little St. Jim, LLCDormant or inactive
Financial Ballistics, LLCDormant or inactive
Southern Country Opportunity Fund, LLCDormant or inactive
Financial Ballistics TrustDormant or inactive
JSC Interiors, LLCBalance moved to the estate; dissolution planned
FSF, LLCBalance moved to the estate; dissolution planned
Jeepers, Inc.Balance moved to the estate; dissolution planned

Little St. Jim is distinct from Great St. Jim. FSF, LLC is distinct from the fictitious name Florida Science Foundation unless a separate legal instrument establishes a relationship.

The estate inventory therefore supplies 25 wholly owned entities outside its dormant section, two partial interests, and nine dormant wholly owned entities: 36 entries.

Additional Historical Companies, Trusts, and Investments

The verified estate inventory is a snapshot of holdings after Epstein’s death. Earlier bank accounts, company records, and trust instruments identify additional relationships. The names below supplement the estate list; a former name of an existing company is identified as such.

NameDocumented connection
Family Interest, LPFinancial Trust Company was described in banking records as its general partner. The Wexner Children’s Trust was a limited partner.
Ranch Lake II, Inc. and Ranch Lake III, Inc.Both appear on a JPMorgan account list associated with Epstein. Their property and trust ownership histories require the underlying corporate records.
International Charitable InterestsBear Stearns account records identify an interest administered through Financial Trust Company.
International Charitable Interests IIA separately dated account appears in Bear Stearns records. It should not be merged with International Charitable Interests without the trust instruments.
Jeffrey E. Epstein Insurance Trusts numbered 1, 2, and 3Distinct numbered insurance trust records. Their policies and amendments need separate entries.
IGO Company, LLCVirgin Islands investment vehicle associated with Epstein’s Coinbase interest and the 2017 Caterpillar Trust.
Island Grounds, Inc.Earlier island operating company with Epstein as an account signer. An internal schedule identifies IGO Company as its owner.
LCP Company, LLCEarlier FirstBank company account with Epstein among its authorized signers. The account record alone does not establish his ownership percentage.
Lafayette Contractors, LLCEarlier company account with Epstein among its signers. Its construction dealings and ownership require separate review.
Zorro Ranch, LLC and Zorro Development CorporationHistorical New Mexico property and operating names, distinct from Cypress and Zorro Management.
Nine East 71st Street CorporationEarlier company in the Manhattan property ownership structure.
JEGE, Inc.Delaware aircraft corporation associated with the Boeing 727. It is distinct from JEGE, LLC in the estate inventory.
Park Partners Manager, LLC and Park Partners, LLCReal estate venture in which Epstein’s FT Real Estate, Inc. participated alongside David Mitchell. This was an indirect, shared interest.
Financial Strategy Group, Inc.Historical Florida business affiliation recorded under Epstein’s name.
Financial Strategy Group, Ltd.Virgin Islands banking applicant whose records name Epstein as president. It was subsequently renamed Southern Country International, Ltd., already in the estate list, so those two names should be counted as one corporate history.
Financial Trustees, Inc.Historical company associated with Epstein in corporate and banking records.
Geepers, Inc.Annual reports name Epstein as president. It should remain distinct from Jeepers, Inc. unless a name change record connects them.

Two further name changes prevent double counting. Financial Infomatics, Inc. became Southern Trust Company, Inc. LSJ Employees, LLC became LSJE, LLC.

Ownership correction: The estate inventory says Poplar, Inc. was the sole owner of Great St. Jim, LLC. Epstein owned Poplar, so his Great St. Jim interest ran through Poplar. The earlier table’s “wholly owned by Epstein” heading should be read as beneficial ownership through that subsidiary, not direct personal membership.

Exclusions from the owned company count: A JPMorgan entity schedule places I Correct Com, LLC under Ghislaine Maxwell’s ownership. HBRK Associates and Harlequin Dane likewise require their Kahn or Indyke ownership labels. Their dealings with Epstein belong in a counterpart index, not his confirmed owned company list.

Businesses and Investment Entities Missing From the Estate Snapshot

Earlier financial companies

Financial Trust Company, Inc. preceded Southern Trust as a major Virgin Islands investment company. The transition correspondence discusses the movement to Southern Trust.

Corporate name change material identifies Financial Infomatics, Inc. as the former name of Southern Trust Company, Inc. A historical list should show both names, but count one continuing corporation. The earlier company’s filings described database services.

J. Epstein & Co., Inc. was an earlier advisory business. Intercontinental Assets Group, Inc. and Financial Strategy Group, Inc. appear in records naming Epstein as an officer. A Virgin Islands banking application concerns Financial Strategy Group, Ltd. The “Inc.” and “Ltd.” names should be treated as separate legal leads, with formation and ownership documents matched before a single corporate history is asserted.

Records concerning Financial Trustees, Inc. identify another historical company associated with Epstein. An annual report collection names him as president of Geepers, Inc. Geepers and Jeepers, Inc. are separate spellings supported by different records and should not be merged without a name change certificate.

Island, ranch, and real estate entities

FirstBank’s account schedule names LCP Company, LLC, Island Grounds, Inc., IGO Company, LLC, and Lafayette Contractors, LLC, with Epstein among the authorized account signers. An authorized signature proves account authority, not sole ownership.

The internal entity schedule describes Island Grounds as owned by IGO Company. It identifies Zorro Development Corporation as a ranch operating company and discusses Zorro Ranch, LLC, which was reportedly formed to hold title but not used for that purpose. These are distinct from Cypress, the eventual ranch title company, and Zorro Management, the later operating company.

The Little Saint James deed establishes that L.S.J., LLC conveyed the island to Nautilus, Inc. The LSJE amendment establishes that LSJ Employees, LLC became LSJE, LLC. Those records resolve two of the most confusing sets of island names:

Legal historyCorrect treatment
L.S.J., LLC to Nautilus, Inc.Two separate companies in a property transfer
LSJ Employees, LLC to LSJE, LLCOne company before and after a name change
Little St. Jim, LLCA separate dormant company
Great St. Jim, LLCGreat Saint James title company owned by Poplar

Nine East 71st Street Corporation belongs to the earlier Manhattan property history. The internal entity schedule also places NES, LLC in the property expense structure.

An operating agreement identifies FT Real Estate, Inc. as a member of Park Partners Manager, LLC alongside David Mitchell. Park Partners, LLC was the associated real estate venture. This is an indirect and shared business interest through FT Real Estate, not proof that Epstein wholly owned either Park Partners company.

Other corporate and loan connections

An investment accounting record describes money booked as an Epstein investment in KCAC, LLC. The same record distinguishes amounts attributed to other contributors. KCAC belongs in the investment section, not among the 36 wholly owned estate entities.

The Southern Financial loan correspondence describes Harlequin Dane, LLC as an Indyke entity receiving or proposed to receive a loan. This is a lending relationship, not an Epstein ownership claim.

Forums, LLC, Ghislaine Corp, Arts Interests, Heritage Interests, Community Interests I and II, Health & Science Interests I and II, and International Charitable Interests appear in corporate, account, trust, or investment records. Their particular roles require separate instruments. An officer position, banking relationship, or authority to direct an account must not be rewritten as personal beneficial ownership.

Paste this at the end of Additional Historical Companies, Trusts, and Investments, immediately before Aircraft Businesses Beyond the Estate List:

Further Business Leads Requiring Verification

The records below identify additional names connected to Epstein or his business records. Their appearance in a document does not, by itself, establish that he owned each entity.

An investigative record concerning Epstein’s business addresses names El Zorro Ranch Corporation and New York Strategy Group among companies associated with the same address. The record warrants listing both as leads, but the address alone does not establish Epstein’s ownership of New York Strategy Group.

A corporate record identifies EAL Enterprises LLC. Its precise relationship to Epstein and whether it conducted business require further verification.

A record bearing Epstein’s signature connects him to Heritage Interests. The document establishes an association, but it does not establish the size or nature of any ownership interest.

An account and entity listing includes Health & Science Interests I and Health & Science Interests II, along with other similarly named interests. These names merit investigation as potential investment or holding vehicles; their ownership and activity should be checked against formation and account records before they are described as Epstein businesses.

Aircraft Businesses Beyond the Estate List

An aviation case record identifies JEGE, Inc. as a Delaware corporation connected to Epstein’s Boeing 727 and describes Epstein as its president, sole director, and sole shareholder. It is distinct from JEGE, LLC in the estate inventory.

Historical records also use the sequence Air Ghislaine, Inc., Shmitka Air, Inc., and Freedom Air International, Inc. A name change record documents part of that chain. The internal entity schedule lists Epstein as president of the aviation corporation. The names should be shown as a corporate name history, not counted as three simultaneous aircraft companies.

Plan D, Hyperion Air, Thomas World Air, Freedom Air Petroleum, JEGE, LLC, and Michelle’s Transportation already appear in the estate table. A vessel bill of sale adds context to Michelle’s Transportation’s maritime role. Aircraft purchasers after Epstein’s death are counterparties to estate sales, not retroactive Epstein companies.

Epstein’s Trusts and Trustee Relationships

The Haze Trust appears in both banking records and the verified inventory. The Butterfly Trust was another Epstein settled trust. Records also identify the Zorro Trust, Palm Beach Trust, and Financial Ballistics Trust.

Insurance trust documentation identifies 2007 Jeffrey E. Epstein Insurance Trusts numbered 1, 2, and 3 in the planning records. Their policies, amendments, and beneficiaries must be followed by trust number. A reference simply to “the insurance trust” can hide three different instruments.

The 2017 Caterpillar Trust file describes a grantor retained annuity trust holding an IGO Company membership interest. It names a 2013 Butterfly Trust in the disposition terms. An earlier 2019 trust record also describes a Jeffrey E. Epstein 2019 Trust. His final will directs its residue to The 1953 Trust. These dates and titles should be retained separately until the instruments establish exactly how they succeeded one another.

Epstein also held trustee or decision making roles in some Wexner related entities. That is different from personally owning their assets. A Wexner trust, the Wexner Foundation, ASW Holdings, and related entities belong in a trustee and corporate authority index with the applicable dates and filings. Their securities must not be counted as Epstein’s personal portfolio merely because he could exercise a trustee power.

Venture Investments and Private Companies

AdFin Solutions, Inc.Preferred stock investment through Southern Trust
KCAC, LLCCapital interest recorded in Epstein’s investment accounting
Neoteny 3Investment and distribution relationship
MC2 Model ManagementDocumented financing relationship; loan and equity terms require separate treatment

The AdFin stock purchase agreement provides stronger evidence than a passing email: it identifies Southern Trust in the transaction and carries Epstein’s signature as its president.

The Coinbase sale correspondence names three Blockchain Capital funds as buyers of part of Epstein’s position. They were transaction counterparties, not automatically funds in which he invested.

Fund and Real Estate Investments

Deutsche Bank’s subscription schedule identifies these investments:

FundEpstein linked investing vehicle
Boothbay Absolute Strategies Fund LPSouthern Financial
Boothbay Multi Strategy Fund LPSouthern Financial
Honeycomb Partners LPSouthern Trust
Honeycomb Ventures IV LP2017 Caterpillar Trust
Valar Global Fund II LPSouthern Trust
Valar Global Fund III LPSouthern Trust

Honeycomb’s distribution letter documents a Spotify share distribution from Honeycomb Ventures I LP to Southern Trust. This is more specific than simply saying Epstein “invested in Spotify”: the record identifies the fund route.

An older internal investment schedule lists interests or accounts under names including AP Technology, AP SHL Investor, Tudor Futures, Highbridge HB Multistrategy, ML Hertz, Prentice Capital Residual Interest, Renaissance, Bear Stearns Asset Backed, Environmental Solutions stock, and a Valartis account. These are the names as recorded on the schedule. Each needs its fund agreement or statement before its exact legal identity and value are published.

Other identified interests include King Street and a D. B. Zwirn or Fortress related position. The C.O.U.Q. return separately lists Bear Stearns Asset Backed Securities Partners LP and Second City Capital Partners I LP as foundation investments.

The Park Partners Manager agreement documents FT Real Estate’s participation in that venture. The estate inventory documents Epstein’s separate 50 percent interest in IGY–AYH St. Thomas Holdings, doing business as American Yacht Harbor. Neither should be buried under a generic “real estate” label.

Public Securities

The C.O.U.Q. tax records list AT&T shares and a contribution of Too, Inc. shares from the Wexner Children’s Trust. Other records describe Apple shares transferred from Epstein linked entities to YLK.

An Apollo investigation record distinguishes Apollo stock from Apollo managed funds. It says an Epstein entity purchased shares of Apollo at its initial public offering; it does not establish an investment in Apollo managed funds. Carvana and Colony Capital also appear as securities leads, pending account level entries for dates and quantities.

The July 2017 portfolio report records transactions under the symbols BK, GM, GE, MU, AKRX, GPACU, MTCH, SQ, GLBL, NTES, TER, and NLY, as well as named transactions involving NGL Energy Partners and Disney. OCR of some symbols needs checking against the original images. A stock position is not an operating relationship with its issuer.

Epstein Controlled Foundations and Charitable Names

Foundation or nameCorrect relationship
C.O.U.Q. Foundation, Inc.Foundation with Epstein as initial director and later president
The Florida Science FoundationFictitious name registered to C.O.U.Q., not another incorporated foundation on that filing
J. Epstein Virgin Islands Foundation, Inc.Epstein foundation incorporated in the Virgin Islands
Enhanced EducationRegistered trade name of J. Epstein Virgin Islands Foundation
Jeffrey Epstein VI FoundationPublic name used for the same foundation
Gratitude America, Ltd.Separate Epstein affiliated Virgin Islands private foundation

J. Epstein Foundation, Epstein Interests, and the Palm Beach Trust appear together in older charitable remainder records. A trust document describes Epstein Interests as formerly the J. Epstein Foundation and as charitable remainderman of the Palm Beach Trust. Those historical names need their own corporate and tax chronology; they should not be merged into Enhanced Education on name alone.

C.O.U.Q. Foundation Grant Recipients

The foundation’s early returns and its 2006 to 2007 return record grants to the following organizations. This table records recipients, not companies Epstein owned.

A memorandum instructs a $50,000 wire to Marvin Minsky from C.O.U.Q. An instruction is not proof by itself that a transfer cleared.

Enhanced Education Grant Recipients

The 2017 grant schedule lists Humanity+, UAB Fors Projecktai in Lithuania, Education Advance, The Hasty Pudding Institute of 1770, ASU Foundation, Barbro School in Sweden, Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, and VIBT Inc.

Other foundation records identify activity involving Harvard’s Program for Evolutionary Dynamics and Stockholm School of Economics. Office messages record checks written for The Criminal Justice Executive Institute and Tribeca Film Institute; those messages alone do not establish that the checks cleared.

Gratitude America Grant and Payment Recipients

Gratitude America’s 2016 return names Bruce and Marsha Moskowitz Foundation, Melanoma Research Alliance Foundation, Hasty Pudding Institute, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, Verse Video Education, Women Global Cancer Initiative Inc., New York Concert Artists Association Inc., Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and The Hewitt School.

Surviving bank charts and cheque images identify additional payments to Cancer Research Wellness Institute, Film Society of Lincoln Center, Walk MS, University of Arizona Foundation, Met Orchestra Musicians, International Peace Institute, The O’Gorman Garden, JTCC, Chopra Foundation, UJA Federation of New York, and Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey.

The records use the names NPO Baleto Teatras and VSJ Baleto Teatras for Lithuanian payments. Their legal identities need reconciliation. A separate financial intelligence inquiry concerned a transfer to Association pour la Promotion de la Politique Culturelle in France. That inquiry does not establish wrongdoing by the recipient.

Banks, Donors, Clients, and Other Counterparties

JPMorgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, FirstBank Puerto Rico, Charles Schwab, Morgan Stanley, and Merrill Lynch provided banking or brokerage services. Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) S.A. had a documented contractual relationship with Southern Trust. These were financial relationships, not Epstein ownership interests in the institutions.

The C.O.U.Q. records describe funding from the Wexner Children’s Trust and the Leslie H. Wexner Charitable Fund, and later transfers to YLK Charitable Trust or Fund. Gratitude America’s filing names BV70 LLC as the source of $10 million. Black Family Partners, LP also appears in payments to Epstein’s financial network. Each is a donor, recipient, or counterparty in the cited transaction, not an Epstein owned company on that basis.

HBRK Associates and New York Strategy Group administered financial or legal affairs and had substantial dealings with Epstein. Records attributing their ownership to Richard Kahn, Harry Beller, or Darren Indyke must be respected. Harlequin Dane was described as an Indyke entity in loan correspondence. TerraMar, Ellmax, and Maxwell linked property companies likewise cannot be relabeled Epstein owned merely because their people or transactions overlap his network.

The Limits of This Index

The 36 entry estate list is complete for the named ownership entries in the verified inventory. The article adds historical entities and documented investments from other records. It does not assert that every corporation, security, fund, grant, and ordinary vendor transaction across Epstein’s lifetime has been identified.

Several further names remain open research entries, including Intercontinental Assets Group, Financial Strategy Group Inc. and Ltd., Financial Trustees, Geepers, Forums, Arts Interests, Heritage Interests, International Charitable Interests, Community Interests, Health & Science Interests, Ranch Lake II and III, EAL Enterprises, and Ghislaine Corp. Some have stronger officer or transaction evidence than others. Each needs a dedicated entry that specifies the legal entity, jurisdiction, Epstein’s role, dates, and direct document before it can be assigned a final ownership label.

The most consequential corrections to the earlier article are the Financial Infomatics and LSJ Employees name changes, the addition of older FirstBank businesses, the three numbered insurance trusts, JEGE, Inc., and the separation of Apollo stock from Apollo funds. Those corrections prevent aliases, counterparties, and investments from being counted as the same kind of business tie.

Questions for Further Investigation

  1. Which historical companies closed before 2019 and therefore never appeared in the estate inventory?
  2. What ownership instruments establish Epstein’s role in Forums, the Ranch Lake companies, and the other named interests?
  3. Which fund positions on the internal schedule remained active after the transition from Financial Trust to Southern Trust?
  4. How did the numbered insurance trusts, Butterfly trusts, Caterpillar Trust, 2019 Trust, and 1953 Trust relate over time?
  5. Which grant years and cleared cheque series remain missing from the three charitable foundations?
